Great stay! It’s a bit of a drive to get places, but the drives are all beautiful. It was quiet, spacious, and family friendly. Another review mentions the surroundings and yes, there are some buildings in need of repair around, but it didn’t take away from our stay at all. Greg referenced Tolkien when talking about the surroundings and he was not wrong at all :) Spring was stunning!
This house was so comfortable for our family. The kitchen was well stocked, the beds were cozy, the natural surroundings peaceful and perfect for walks. My family wants to come back!
The home was perfect for a large group with space for everyone and very comfortable, with a well stocked kitchen. There aren't amenities close by, but the location is perfect for a nature lover - in the mountains with tons of nearby lakes and streams and trails. The hosts were very responsive and quickly dealt with our minor concerns. A great stay and very affordable!
Kristen was extremely helpful and communicative. She promptly responded to all my questions. The house is well built and spacious with ample amenities in a quiet old mill town. If you’re looking for a break from the hubbub of the busy, crowded, crazy outside world this place definitely fits the bill.
We loved our stay at this house. It was cute, charmingly old-timey, with all the conveniences we needed, while visiting family nearby. We were lightly unprepared for last minute snow that was not on the forecast, that's on us, and the road plowing was minimal on Thanksgiving so just know it's a long and winding road in and out in every direction, but all the drives are scenic.

Carla and her family were wonderful guests. They left our home in great condition. We'd love to have them back anytime!
The house has a retro vibe. It is in a a secluded area with no cell service. Thank goodness for Wi-Fi in the house. The living room area is comfy and cozy with a nice flatscreen and streaming services available. Kitchen well equipped. Everything we needed for a long weekend.
We enjoyed our time with extended family at this cozy house. The hosts responded quickly and effectively to all communications. The listing described the advantages of the house well but omitted a few things that travelers may wish to take into account:-Potential lead in the water. Owners left brochures out in the house from the state of Massachusetts about there potentially being lead in the water, a few gallons of bottled water, and a Brita filter (which however did not filter lead). We went to North Adams and got bottled water to use for drinking and cooking.-Immediate neighbors include a mix of occupied houses and abandoned / derelict houses not shown in picture.-The listing described the property as 'rustic' but I'm not sure that's the right word. Think wallpaper peeling at the edges, mold spots on bathroom ceilings, and thick old carpet.-On the bright side, the kitchen was very well-stocked and the dishwasher was great. The beds, sheets, etc were all good.We would have felt good about this rental, had we known the above going in and had the price point been much lower. (We paid 295 per night plus fees, which seems to be higher than the usual rate probably because we visited over New Year's.)
