This 3-bedroom, 2-bath upper-level unit is full of original Folly Beach charm. The house was built in the 1930s, but has recently been completely renovated to add all of the modern conveniences while at the same time restoring the classic look of a Folly Beach cottage to each unit.
The home is ideally located for visitors who want to walk to all of the local attractions. The beach, the pier, and BLU, the only ocean front restaurant and bar in the Charleston area, are within easy walking distance (2 blocks). Center Street's restaurants and shops are just a block away. Downtown Charleston, with its historic architecture, carriage rides, museums, and fine dinning is less than 15 minutes away as well.
The home itself is just as ideal as its location. Visitors can lounge on one of two wonderful porches. The shady front porch runs the length of the house and gets a fabulous beach breeze. It is a perfect spot to catch up on your beach reading or to watch the world go by; you can even catch a glimpse of the ocean. The back porch, a sunny spot outfitted with a table and chairs, is a perfect spot to soak up some sun, have lunch, or watch the sunset.
From the front porch, step into the main living area which includes the living room and dinning room. The home's hardwood floors, original wood paneling, architectural details, and eight large windows give this space a bright, classic beach cottage look.
There are three lovely bedrooms in the home. The king bedroom has a crisp, classic decor and is equipped with a flat screen TV. The adjacent bedroom has two twin beds and a decor that is fun and festive. These two rooms share a stylish bathroom that boasts a claw-foot tub. The queen bedroom has its own private bath and french doors opening onto the back porch.
The kitchen is bright, spacious, and includes gorgeous granite counter-tops and all of the amenities. The cooks in your party will appreciate the attention to detail and will be able to whip up a fantastic dinning experience with ease. Every gadget and accessory has been provided, so don't worry about bringing your micro-zester from home!
Additionally, the home has such conveniences as a washer and dryer and free WiFi. On your arrival, you'll find a welcome basket that will ease the unpacking process.
We have a no-smoking and a no-pet policy. We rent by the week in the summer.

About Tara Hock
Brad and I have been living on Folly Beach for nine years. We gutted and renovated our own home and enjoyed the process so much that we have renovated several other properties. Brad does all of the work himself and his attention to detail really shows. We live right around the corner from our rental property, so if you need anything, just let us know.

Why Tara Hock chose Folly Beach
This home is so close to everything! The beach, the pier, and Center Street are all within easy walking distance. The interior of the home is bright, sunny, and decorated with comfort in mind. Additionally, we take care of our properties ourselves rather than having a realty company handle the bookings, maintenance, and cleaning. We personally inspect our properties weekly to make sure that our guests have the best experience possible.

Beautiful house in the heart of Folly
What a beautiful home! I loved how the house has been upgraded while maintaining the character of the building, and I appreciated the subtle, soothing decor and furnishings. The beds were comfortable, and the living space was open and inviting. Kitchen was well stocked. We used the front and back porch every day--both great outdoor spaces! Loved the front porch for early coffee drinking and the back porch for sunset dinners. Incredible proximity to the beach/pier and the town center.
This is a great place for people who want to be in the middle of the action. The weekdays on the porches were filled with the sounds of construction in the neighborhood and trucks delivering to local businesses. The weekend days and nights were filled with the sounds of traffic, people, and music from neighbors and nearby businesses. Inside the home, it was very quiet (but who wants to sit inside all the time?) except for a couple late-night rowdy groups passing by. We had to ask a loud group to move away from the house around 2am because their voices woke 4 out of 6 of our group; we aren't the up-at-2am type. Bring your white noise machine if you are there on a busy weekend and are a light sleeper.
We enjoyed biking down to the far ends of the island for a more remote beach experience, and we enjoyed kayaking on the marshes. Folly Beach Adventures on Indian Ave (2 blocks away) rents at great rates and delivers and picks up the boats to and from the boat dock. Chico Feo is great for tacos and a beverage after a beach day, and we went to Bert's Market just about daily for little odds and ends that we needed. Great shop!
I would recommend that they put in a rack where bikes can be locked up on the ground floor somewhere; there was nowhere to lock our bikes. And the internet only worked for us in the main room. Not too big a deal for us, but maybe for someone else.
All in all, this is a great spot to experience everything that Folly has to offer!
We had a great time and the house was clean and well decorated. It was our first time to the area and while it's a quick drive to Charleston we loved this house and it's location to Folly Beach and the restaurants, we chose to hang out there verses Charleston. No complaints at all and would highly recommend.
Relaxing, easy location to beach and Folly fun!
This property was a great location for all we wanted to do in Folly. There is no need for a car if you plan to beach it and enjoy downtown Folly Beach. It was nice to be able to walk just a couple minutes to the beach as beach trail is on edge of property. Going to the local restaurants/bars is an easy, pleasant walk from this location.
The property was relaxing and nice--being very clean and lots of charm. You can enjoy late afternoon drinks after spending the day at the beach on either of the property's two decks. We would stay here on our next visit to Folly Beach. Thanks much to the owners for allowing our stay!
Perfect place to enjoy Folly Beach.
Tara has a real eye for great art as each room had interesting art on the walls to enjoy. The house is well stocked with supplies. We very much enjoyed both the deck and the front porch. We had a small maintenance issue when there but it was addressed quickly.
Expectations met! A wonderful week of fun and laughter for our reunion.
This was a re-union, we came from far and wide, Australia, South Africa, Oregon, Idaho and Western North Carolina. We were a group of six ladies all born in 1947 and who all attended the same high school in Rhodesia, Africa.
We found the house as it is shown on the website, cheerful, clean and pleasing to the eye as well as being equipped with all our needs. It is well situated being close to the main street but not close enough to be disturbed by late night revellers. We used the only Folly Beach Taxi service we found on the internet ... a man of few words but totally reliable and, as the fares were divided by six, very reasonable. He ferried us to Charleston and back and to a Plantation and back arriving on the dot of time agreed upon.
We love Folly
Beautiful place, great location. Hope to return soon.
