Parking:

Birds Nest offers parking for up to 2 cars. The first parking space is in front of the unit and the second is the nearest space on the opposite side of the driveway.



Guest Access:

You will have access to the entire property. With our keyless entry,  you can enjoy a flexible check-in any time after 4pm on your arrival date and guests can conveniently gain access via the smart lock.

The Neighborhood:

Welcome to the charming town of Saugatuck!



The Birds Nest is located right in Downtown Saugatuck. Exit out of the back sliding doors and walk the grass to the right, you'll find a stairway that is a convenient shortcut to street level right in town. Enjoy strolling Butler Street and hitting all the restaurants and shops this quaint town has to offer. From Saugatuck's famous art galleries to locally roasted coffee, jam and jelly shops. There is no shortage of fabulous places to ignite the senses. Saugatuck allows open container in the "social district" off Butler and Water Streets. Enjoy a beverage from one of the local watering holes and feel free to bring it with you as you walk the riverfront.



Get outside and enjoy the nature that the area has to offer! If you're looking for a little pep step, there is a plethora of wooded foot and bike trails that lead to the beach, where you can find gorgeous sunsets. Bring your own bicycles or rent one nearby for easy access into town or just a 20 minute bike ride to The Saugatuck Dunes State Park. While there, you can hike straight through to the most idyllic beach. Take on the climb of the infamous Mount Baldhead and head down the other side on a dune that takes you straight to Oval Beach. Getting Around:

The Birds Nest is within a 5 minute walk of the charming Downtown Saugatuck! The historic Saugatuck Chain Ferry, takes you across the Kalamazoo River and drops you at the foot of some wonderful hiking trails and Mt. Baldy, is about a 15 minute walk. Fares are $2/person each way.



The Interurban is a on call public transportation service that services Saugatuck/Douglas/Fennville. Simply call the number and request a pickup and drop off location. $1 fares each way!



Other Things to Note:

Our rentals are equipped with all the basic cooking essentials you'll need for a seamless cooking experience, including pots and pans, utensils, olive oil, a wide array of spices, seasonings and more. Whip up your favorite recipes, experiment with new local flavors, and savor the joy of cooking in the comfort of your home away from home. 



For summer bookings, check-ins may be required on Friday with a 6 night minimum stay due to HOA requirements. If you have any issues or questions booking, please reach out to us directly at Upscale Lakeshore, West Michigan.



Pool closes mid-September and reopens in May. Please note that reservations from Memorial Weekend to Labor Day weekend will be assessed a $50 pool guest fee. Pool towels and beach towels provided for your stay.



Outdoor furniture may be winterized from December - May.



Please note the living room fireplace is decorative only, though feel free to enjoy the electric fireplace in the master bedroom.



All Upscale Lakeshore vacation rentals follow local and state tax rules. Your booking will include applicable taxes, a cleaning fee, along with a safety and damage protection policy. We want to ensure the safety and security of our guests and properties. When you book a vacation home with us, you will be required to sign a rental agreement for us, and one for the HOA after booking. Prior to booking, please reach out to us directly if you would like to see the rental agreement.



We recommend securing travel insurance to protect your investment should you need to cancel your reservation outside of the allotted window or due to inclement weather or any other factor.



Upscale Lakeshore loves their pets, however this home is not pet friendly. If you are looking to vacation with your furry friend or emotional support animal, please contact us for a dog friendly home.
