Important Property Notes:
• Due to a steep, winding paved road leading to the Scenic Wolf cabins, use of a four-wheel drive vehicle is recommended during the winter months.
• Each cabin at Scenic Wolf is large and multi-leveled with upper and lower decks located over steep drop-offs (providing the wonderful views!). If stairs or a fear of heights are a concern for anyone in your party, please consider the various cabin floor plans that are available.
• A clear cell signal at Scenic Wolf can be hit-or-miss. Each cabin has a landline phone and free wireless Internet to keep you connected.

Eagles Nest! Yes!
Spent the weekend there with family. Had a great time. The house was spacious yet cozy, clean, well stocked and maintained. Only two small points of critique: there was dog hair on the furniture and floors. But nothing a good deep clean couldn't remedy. Also, the towels were a bit thin and a little scratchy. Other than those small things, it was wonderful!!
Family Christmas weekend
We met with family from Virginia and Tennessee to celebrate an early Christmas. The cabin is warm and wonderful! Very well equipped kitchen to cook for our group. You definitely need four wheel drive in the winter months as we had a little snow on our way in and anyone with two wheel drive ended up in the ditch. Thankfully we all had four wheel drive so we had no problems.
Adorable Cabin but NOT Ski In/Ski Out & Wolf Ridge Upper ski lodge burned down
The cabin is adorable and exactly what I was looking for in a cabin feel; warm and cozy with a great view. This is a great place to rest and relax. It is very isolated, not necessarily bad if you need to relax. The closest restaurants or grocery stores are located off exit 9 in Mars Hill. Its best to come completely prepared. The trip up and down the mountain becomes annoying when realize you forgot something you really needed. Also the only activity close by is skiing or tubing. The ski resort has definitely seen better days. It definitely needs a little TLC.
IMPORTANT: If you are looking ski in/ski out (as stated in the description), this is NOT the place for you. We did not have snow during our stay, but even if there had been a foot, there is no way the cabin is ski in/ski out (this was my husband's only request when I started hunting for a cabin). There is a road directly in front of it and a house directly below it, absolutely no ski runs to access directly from the cabin. ***It also it should be noted the Upper Lodge of the Wolf Ridge Ski Resort burned down in March 2014. No visible efforts have been made to replace it.*** I recommend to the owners/property management some type of traction control on the wood stairs to the second floor. Our 10 year old dog fell down the stairs and injured his leg.

Also, thanks for sharing the info with other travelers about the distance. Scenic Wolf (where Eagle's Nest is located) is at the top of the Wolf Ridge mountain, and is a bit of a drive to the closest stores. It's the perfect retreat for those looking to get away!
We're having trouble locating anywhere that the cabin is listed as "Ski In-Ski Out," can you please contact our office directly and let us know where you saw that so we can make sure it's removed? You're correct, Eagle's Nest is *not* ski in/ski out, and we're sorry for any miscommunication about that! It is located by the slopes of Wolf Ridge (a ski run is directly at the end of the short road).
As of now there are no plans that we're aware of for the upper lodge to be rebuilt, but that is actually owned and managed by Wolf Ridge Skiing, which is separate from the cabin rentals. We were all so heartbroken when the lodge burned down. Thankfully the lower lodge (which has always been the hub of activity anyways) is still going strong!
Thanks again for all the great feedback - we're forwarding your suggestions about the cabin to our maintenance department to see what they can do! So sorry about your 10 year young pup's leg - we're all dog lovers in the office, and we hope he's feeling back to his chipper self already!

Rates do not include taxes, but do include linens, cleaning, and a starter supply
of paper products. Each reservation also includes a Biltmore Estate pass, as well
as a ski lift pass at Wolf Ridge good for your stay (Skiing Dec 13 to Feb 28).
