Hot tub was broken, no wifi, some dishes had rancid oil on them, house was overly cluttered. It was a beatiful location and the host was nice, only reason I gave it two stars.

Thank you for the kind words concerning our staff, yes, they are amazing and our million dollar fun family loving location.
Meeting our guest needs is always a priority, we are proud of our home.
After reading your review, I am concerned others will need clarity.
The owner , was your greeter, all phone numbers were exchanged and the very clear communication of : “Anything YOU NEEDED” was conversed. Your finds , dishes or removal of art decor?, could have been addressed immediately .
Rancid oil?, cluttered? All, Not satisfactory and alarming , and yes one , this should not have happened , yet two , if a mistake occurred , it would have been corrected promptly and your care hurd should you requested.
Again note, A FULL TIME CARETAKING STAFF IS 24 hour was available during your stay. Your visit to NC , Followed a major storm. It was communicated at your greet, that the Frontier WIFI LINES were down in our area and yes, the HOT TUB was damaged. Repairs to both were prompted yet out of our control. Disappointing for certain.
Thank you for two stars.
May your return visit be a better 5 star blessing , and your decision to use of our amazing staff if requested, be used.
Owner Jillian.
Great cabin, cozy, intimate, and great view of the river and train. We loved our stay.

The location of this cabin is absolutely top tier.Waterfront, beautiful and picturesque, and only 10 minutes from downtown Bryson City. The location truly is perfect.Unfortunately, for nearly 500 a night, the amount of issues we experienced felt unreasonable. The cabin appeared poorly maintained and not very clean. There were dead bugs, spider webs, dusty corners, dirty windows, and even stains on the bed sheets. There were also several maintenance problems throughout the cabin. Many of the light switches did not work, including the bedroom light and fan, so we had to rely on a lamp. The upstairs shower was outdated, difficult to turn on, and had almost no water pressure. The downstairs jet tub motor ran, but the jets did not work. Parts of the electric reclining couches were also broken & Living room hammock was ripped so we couldn't use.The uneven stone flooring is a trip hazard and not child-friendly, and there were exposed wires and cords throughout the cabin. The upstairs fire alarm randomly went off in the morning, and we had to remove the batteries to stop it. This cabin has amazing potential because the location, but it needs deep cleaning, repairs, and better upkeep.

Thank you for your stay. Yes our home on River is quite remarkable and a pleasure to stay in. I read your review and it concerned me that many of these issues you so kindly shared were there to start with , yet none shared to make right? . Yes things like alarm batteries unexpectedly need replacing, finding a light switche occasionally can be challenging in a designer home, and thank you for your note on dust.
My apologies for your uncomfortable stay.
I immediately contacted , Our 24 HOUR CARE TAKING STAFF to find out why?, and if your challenges, concerns, and requests? were unaddressed quickly and efficiently?
I am very discouraged in the communication not shared.
Your points have been acknowledged, looked at and sadly addressed immediately.
Again our 24 HOUR FULL TIME CARETAKING STAFF if had been requested , would have repaired all, and made your stay as it should have been, perfect.
I will address the comments, push better on our end for communication with guests, and take all your unhappy notes with the respect it deserves.
This place was more magical than we expected. We arrived in the evening with all the lights and decor to welcome us. The setting on the river was fabulous with a bonus of horseshoes and a hot tub and the twinkling stars from the hot tub. Unexpectedly ran into Jillian and had a wonderful conversation. It was such a pleasure to meet her in person. Anyone who visits here will be pleasantly surprised and enjoy the two fireplaces and the magic of the train throughout the day as well. We loved our stay here thank you Jillian.

Enjoyed the river, proximity to area attractions and trails.
Beautiful home, wonderful location, peaceful. We had a fantastic stay, being directly on the river was the best. The house is well stocked and Jillian the homeowner was wonderful. I would definitely recommend this VRBO!! Thank you for everything!
The property is amazing. The communications were excellent start to finish. Decor and design elements were outstanding questions and thoughtfully created. We loved every element of our stay and will definitely stay again.Very minor recommendations.Evaluate cooking utensils, pots and pans for quality and everything needed to prepare meals.Property could use a thorough cleaning. However, we also understand how difficult it would be to keep such a unique place clean.LOVED THE PLACE!
Our Valentine’s weekend at the cabin was an overall an awesome stay. Loved the river behind the cabin the cabin overall was perfect. I would must definitely recommend this cabin and I will definitely visit again.
The location is great and the property on the river is beautiful. But the area for guests is not 2,000 square feet. The owners area is the entire bottom floor and I think that is included in the square footage. As others have mentioned, the place is a little dusty and if you are sensitive to dust then it's probably better to look at other options.
Where to start! The house is amazing. Everything you need for a stay is supplied. There is plenty to do right at the house. The owner and caretaker are super responsive. The area is quite and peaceful with just a few miles to nearby Cherokee and Bryson City! You will not regret visiting!

Thank you we try to accommodate and please everyone to the fullest. You are very kind. Please come back anytime from my family and from my caretaker your kind words are appreciated.
My wife and I spent 10 nights at this property, waking up each day and enjoying coffee and a view of the river each day, It was probably one of the first times where we spent 90 percent of our time at the property. Will stay at the location again.
Beautiful cabin in a beautiful location! So much to do in the area, and the cabin had everything we needed for a family reunion (6 adults, a 2-year old, and 2 dogs). Highly recommend!
Loved our stay. Had a great time relaxing by the rivers edge. Will miss the sound of the water! Thanks for having us!!

Owner stayed entire time on property
The owner said she was leaving on Monday but stayed the entire stay. We paid for privacy but did not receive it also the house is not at all accessible for anyone who has mobility challenges. Also, the owner only provides minimal TP, trash bags, and paper towels. Not enough for an entire stay.
What an amazing family trip we had at this cabin! Location is perfect! The river is so beautiful with the lovely sunsets! The indoor fireplace is so cozy every night and we made delicious s’mores every night too! The owner and caretaker are top notch! Pick this cozy cabin to stay in for an amazing memory!

Bless you. See you next year! Adorable family, loved meeting you.
We had the best stay at this cabin! We came to ride the Polar Express, and the cabin made the weekend even more perfect! The owner was lovely and the care taker Tammy was always available to assist. The cabin is close to everything, and the outdoor area was spectacular. We cannot wait to return!
The cabin was amazing and totally surpassed our expectations!! Jillian was a gracious host and we would definitely stay again!! We couldn’t have been more pleased!!
Excellent location to Bryson City and Cherokee. We could see the Elk in the morning and the evening. It’s a beautiful drive to Gatlinburg! The cabin grounds are just perfect to sit by the river and have coffee in the morning or enjoy the hot tub in the evening. We couldn’t have been happier with the outdoor areas! And have a bonfire with the family at night. Just Beautifully landscaped!
This is one of the most unique places we have ever stayed!
You can tell this cabin is the owners "baby"! So many neat features about it! The river is beautiful as well!!
Very close to town and restaurants! Our new dog loved it too!!
Had a great time beautiful cabin and grounds great location would definitely book again. FYI tube ride from back of the house took 4 hrs sons and I had an adventure but not for the timid even seen an Elk an huge Eagle. 👍

Our Families "Amburgey" heritage is Appalachian. Our love for the Mountains, Western North Carolina's Rivers and it's abundance of natural organic materials is reflected in our design. Enjoy This Log home's location and title, was inspired by the oil painting, “Following The River”, by Robert Duncan. The pictorial imagery of Native Americans on horseback crossing a wintery river's edge could secretly come to life in this uniquely tranquil, unobstructed river view. The Tuckaseeggee River’s abundant wild life and its degrees of strength, are breathtaking and worth the perch.
