The property is a newly remodeled, NON-Smoking & NON-PET Rental-- second story- entire upper level with a private front entrance and private front patio with natural gas grill-- It has 3 bedrooms- 3 bathrooms, clean, contemporary, & comfortable for singles, couples, families, visiting students, business trips, and medical stays. Enjoy flat screen TV's and private bathrooms in every room. One of the three bedrooms has a queen-sized sofa-bed which converts into a family room by day and bedroom by night, perfect for just relaxing extra space. All beds are queen-sized, with one room including an additional twin bed. Accommodations comfortably houses up to 7 if needed. All bedrooms include private heat source, air conditioning, wireless internet, & cable. If you wish to eat breakfast out, we have a small restaurant just two doors down which serves lunch, dinner, and breakfast all day- Parking is ON street. Sorry we DO NOT take pets, nor visiting pets. Each room has its own private lock, perfect for church groups, students, or individuals traveling together who still want a level of privacy during their visit. If you need more information, feel free to contact us directly. If you are looking for a longer stay, rates for the unit drop in cost per day + weekly cleaning fee and sales tax. We offer Off-Season Rates for the main house beginning December 1st each year. For your quote just call or send an email through this site and we will get back to you shortly. About Clara Paulson

I grew up and went to college in North Dakota. Later I married and moved to Montana where I lived for 24 years where I raised three children. I have always loved the mountains and after my children were grown, I moved here to beautiful Colorado to start an herb and tea company, here in Old Colorado City. Because I prefer moderate weather with the 4 seasons, this area is very attractive. Being family oriented makes running a vacation rental the perfect fit and just adds layers of new friends to a life full of wonderful people. Enjoy your stay and be sure to let me know any way I can make your trip better. Share your experience here with your friends and do come back- Beginning in June of 2013, you will also have access to an on-grounds Tea Shop for enjoying a cup of tea on our store patio or to purchase items to take back home. The people are friendly, and living here in this beautiful area, is like living on vacation all the time. So many pass through here and having a local business has made it possible for me to revisit some of the same people coming through every summer. It is a delightful mix of all walks of life and once experienced, something to be appreciated and certainly remembered.

What makes this house unique

I love living on this busy small town street where activities and excitement of all there is to do, happens right out my front door. I can walk to work, walk to dine, walk to walk, enjoying friends and visitors any day of the week. I can pack a lunch and walk through Garden of the Gods Park- just another benefit of living here. Everyone owns a dog, and that says a lot for the just type of people who walk the neighborhoods here, friendly and happy- Being just a few miles to either downtown or Manitou Springs is an ideal setting for a vacation or living in Colorado Springs. Just out the door you can visit Organic Herb & Tea Co, voted "Best of Colorado Springs" 2014

Perfect location, nice and cozy house and great host.

My parents, sister and I enjoyed our stay at this cozy place with such character so much that we would definitely stay here again. Clara was a great host, she told us of a lot of wonderful places to eat and visit along with reminding us to hydrate with electrolytes. We had a wonderful time visiting with family on the many sitting areas on the property. My mother and sister loved sitting on the balcony off the back bedroom and staring at Pikes Peak.

The location ended up being perfect as many of the activities were right around Old Colorado City and the restaurant just three doors down (Shadow Mountain) became our favorite, we loved the food and service.

It was just perfect for us.

Enjoyed our stay!

My husband and two granddaughters (15 and 19) stayed here for a long weekend. We really enjoyed this quirky old house (the upper floor is what you are renting). Three bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (all with showers) were terrific and we also appreciated the tvs in each bedroom. House is exactly as advertised, read the description. Clara was easy to work with and helped us find perfect dining options. The house is in a great location as we could walk to shops and restaurants.

Great stay in a great location

Last year we fell in love with Old Colorado City on our annual trip to Colorado Springs!! Our group comes in for the annual fallen firefighters memorial and it was great to have a house we can all stay in together!! This house was so nice with each of us having our own bedroom and bathroom!! The outdoor sitting area was great to enjoy the awesome weather we got! The owners were very easy to work with and available for questions, as needed!!

We were within walking distance to all the great shops and restaurants in Old Colorado City and even found our new favorite breakfast place three doors down (Mountain Shadows)!

Great location!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is in a great location and had everything we needed! Clara even had some bottles of water waiting for us on our arrival - much needed and greatly appreciated. Both Clara and Luke were so gracious and did a great job in making sure we had everything. We hope to make it back soon!

Perfect for our group!

This charming home was perfect for 6 adults in town for the Pikes Peak Ascent/Marathon. Three bedrooms and 3 bathrooms was exactly what we needed. The kitchenette in the shared hallway was used for making coffee, heating leftovers, and refrigerating snacks. The outdoor space is wonderful for hanging out. The house was clean with plenty of towels. The home is exactly how the listing describes it and it met all of our expectations. The location is perfect. We loved being in the historic district of Old Colorado City and only steps away from dining and shopping.

Clara was a fantastic host. She gave excellent suggestions for the local restaurants. Definitely visit the Farmers Market if it is going on during your stay. Clara gave us helpful tips to handle the altitude and prepare for our race. My friends bought some "cell food" from her Organica store and her homemade pickles were delicious! She also provided us with a water filter to refill our bottles (important for us since we needed to stay hydrated for our race). My husband and I plan to come back with the kids for a family vacation and will book this home again! I highly recommend this place.

Check-in is between 4PM and 6 PM on your day of arrival. Check-out is at 10AM on your day of departure. To cancel your reservation, you must do so 60 days prior to your arrival in order to receive the full refund less a 10% cancellation fee of the total of the booked Reservation plus $25 merchant service booking fee and $25 merchant service cancellation fee. For example, if your Reservation was for $500 the cancellation fee would be $50, plus $25 + $25 merchant service fees. This 10% fee pays for securing our employee to clean and plan their summer schedule plus the merchant service fees through our listing with VRBO. If you incur a chargeback fee, this fee will deducted from your reservation refund. The unit capacity is for a party of 7 people. You may have one extra guest for a total of 8 people. The extra guest fee will be added to your reservation and is $20 per day to your total. We also have a guest house on the property. To inquire about the Guest House please see Listing Number 653145. If you are staying longer than 7 days, the cleaning fee is $90 per week including as you vacate in the middle of a week. The Guest House is also an excellent option for over-flow guest needs or for those who cannot climb stairs. We do not allow pets. All property is non-smoking. Smoking is permitted outside only, including the front patio-grill area. Beginning Winter Season 2016-2017, we will begin offering Wellness Stays for Medical. This will be a single room rental out of the 3 available. The kitchenette is available for light meal preparations.
