Island Key Condos 302 Waterfront Condo 5 min walk to Beach
Here is your chance to stay in a large, 2 bedroom, 1 bath unit on the water. This building was built in 2005. The units feature tall ceilings and a full-width balcony that looks North out over the intra-coastal waterway. You have the use of an assigned parking space under the building.
The location puts you in the southern end of the island with easy access south towards Sand Key and the barrier islands leading all the way to Pass-a-Grill. In addition, you are a short three-block walk to the white sands of Clearwater Beach and about a 20-minute walk to Pier 60 and the Clearwater Marina. Book lunch or dinner cruise or go out to watch the dolphins.
As soon as you hit the sand you can rent a couple of chairs and an umbrella for around $20 a day, or stop by the Walgreens just a block away and pick up beach chairs if there aren’t enough at the unit. In the immediate area are all kinds of restaurants and shopping for the beach.
This unit is one of the best values for the money when you are looking for a monthly 2 bedroom unit. Give us a call if you have any questions or if we can assist you in booking your vacation at this property!

Some good...but can’t make up for the short comings
The condo was clean, had a great pool and was really close to the putt-putt golf place. However, it is a long way (10 minute walk) to the closest beach point and about 20 minutes to the pier. The only reason that is a problem is when it is raining...you just can’t get between the two easily...add in the fact that the condo is lacking many of the beach perk items, like a cart, umbrella or extra chairs. It really makes for a long walk carrying your beach stuff for the day.
The kitchen does have a Keurig, but no toaster. There is a toaster oven, so I guess bagels or english muffins would have been a better choice.
The main reason for the less than stellar review is that the “master bedroom” bed feels like your sleeping on a giant bag of sugar with a sheet on it. I thought they switched the mattress and the box spring...they didn’t, I checked. If your sleep number is 6000, maybe it’s right up your alley. But not being able to sleep well really puts a damper on the experience.
Finally, the check in process was beyond puzzling and very insecure. They send you to a dark alley, to pick up an envelope in an unsecured box. It was after midnight by the time we got there, anyone could go look in that box and have immediate access to the condo. Combine that with the fact that they give you what I can only assume is the master key for the lock and tell you to set your own key for the week. I sure hope that wasn’t the master key...but what else would the 10 digits be? The packet could have been in the condo, and they could have emailed me a key they set for the week along with parking instructions which there were none. Apparently I was parked in a reserved spot all week to be called the day before we leave and then told i need to park elsewhere. The pass literally says “no reserved, all guest”...but that some how means park in spots 1,2,3,8,9, or 11. That’s all you need to send to your guests and your checkin process is secure and simple. I hope you’ll implement this going forward. Maybe it won’t work for all your properties...but maybe that’s the problem, for you this is a business, not personal, and that is exactly how it felt.
We still had fun, made some great memories, but this is the fourth condo in Clearwater we have tried, and the first that I wouldn’t recommend.

Hurricane Irma
Our trip was cancelled due to hurricane Irma so we actually didn't stay at the property but the staff at Island Key were very helpful and were able to refund our deposit.
