We love our home and love to spend as much time as possible visiting it! When we are not here, we love to share it with folks who are excited to spend special time in the mountains!
Owner purchased this House in 2012
Why Owner chose Olympic Valley
We spent much of our childhood skiing at Squaw during the winters and enjoying beautiful Squaw Valley and Lake Tahoe during summers. The air is clean and fresh and exhilarating. Evenings are gorgeous and magical with an unbelievable spread of stars that light up the sky.
What makes this House unique
The house is such a warm and inviting home. It's ideal for both quiet gatherings of a small group of friends and larger family reunions. It's also a perfect location for several couples and families to join together for a Tahoe visit or celebration.

Great house for a great location.
With ample sleeping arrangements and an open space for kitchen, living room, and dining, great for groups to go to Squaw and shred some gnar.
Thank you, James! We are so glad you had such a super time. Your sure did have some terrific snow and very cold weather that week! It was a pleasure having you and your group as guests. You are most welcome back anytime!
Our family had a great visit. The layout is as described and it worked really well for our group. Great walks around the area and we enjoyed the back yard too. We took advantage of the barbecue and cooked outside each night. Sitting in the back yard felt like were in a hidden forest. I had hoped to return to another home we rented in the Olympic Valley area last year but they were booked. We will definitely return here instead next year. See you next year!
We are glad you had such a great time. Since your visit this summer, we started building a new street-level garage that will be complete by December 2014. We hope to see you next summer so you can see the new garden in front of the house where the old driveway was. We will also have even more wildflowers and areas to explore in the back.
We Loved Everything About Our Visit!
This house was perfect for us. I was searching for a place late one night and the owner emailed back immediately and we had it booked that same night. Talk about responsive! The house is beautiful and it was ideal for our group of three families. For our group, we used the upstairs for adults and downstairs, where the bunk bed room and playroom are, for the kids. It was a one minute drive to Squaw and the skiing was terrific this week. The days were fun but we also looked forward to coming back home for post-ski hot tubbing and relaxation time. After the hot tub some of us warmed up in the sauna. We also enjoyed a warm fire in the wood burning fireplace each night. There was more snow than we expected and we had fun making snowmen and even set up a fun sledding run in the back yards. It is a really large yard and there was a lot of room to play. We are already coordinating calendars so we can make this an annual visit to Squaw and to your lovely and welcoming home. Thank you!
We were glad to accommodate your group and happy your visit was a great one. Visit us again soon!
Amazing Location! Attentive & friendly owners offering a great house for an amazing price!
Hello fellow Squaw lovers! We rented this house with two other couples - we each have 2 small children for a total of 6 kids. The layout for three families was ideal. The older kids were able to all bunk together while the little ones stayed in with parents. Then each couple had a room with a queen bed. Location was perfect as we could run kids and Dads to the mountain in about 2 minutes so the Mom's could take the little ones to the village, park, grocery store, etc. Michele was extremely accommodating and was very responsive to any questions we had. Besides all of these great features, the price was right. It's nice to be able to go up for a long weekend without breaking the bank. This owner clearly has renters' best interests at heart and we look forward to another stay in the near future!!
We are so happy you enjoyed your visit, Heather. yes, that bunkbed room is so much fun for the kids. We hope you will visit us again soon!
Good location but house needs some TLC
I have rented through VRBO many times and this is the first time the place didn't live up to the pictures & descriptions. The property is "tired". The first thing you see when you walk in are the stairs, they are carpeted and they are filthy. The rest of the house was clean (should be with the hefty cleaning fee) but some rooms really need attention. The downstairs bath needs paint & a facelift. Previous properties I've rented have all had some "basics" included in the bathrooms & kitchen. Not here, we were lucky there was one roll of paper towels and some TP. Typically a rental kitchen has basic seasonings, some paper goods & cleaning supplies. Some of this was provided but no real staples to speak of - not even pepper. None of the kitchen/bath drawers were lined with shelf paper & utensils were minimal.
The owners were very nice and helpful when we had to call for assistance. Their instructions could be a little more detailed regarding power failures, blown fuses etc.
Again, nice owners and a great location but for the price, not a place I'd stay again.
What a disappointing review for us as owners. We love staying at our Squaw Valley home and we also are so happy to share it with visitors. We have had countless renters share with us that they had a fabulous visit and plan to visit again.
We agree with the renter that the inside stairs have taken a beating since the deep clean we did just before beginning this season’s winter rentals. All carpeted areas (including the stairs) are thoroughly vacuumed between each renter. We will again do a carpet shampoo cleaning at the end of this winter.
The two upstairs bathrooms were remodeled by the previous owners, and we agree that the downstairs bathroom (picture #13) is more basic. However, it is functionally serving its purpose perfectly and it is located between the downstairs family room and the bunk bed room that usually houses a room full of kids.
Regarding supplies, the renter’s comment is perplexing. We have the basics available in the kitchen (salt, pepper, oil, etc), and plenty of kitchen utensils and cooking items. In fact, we have had some folks share that we should perhaps have fewer cooking items in the kitchen. We also have cleaning supplies under the kitchen sink and in the wash/dryer closet. Regarding toilet paper and paper towels, we assume this was a maid service oversight. They usually leave several rolls in each bathroom and so this experience would be the exception, not a norm.
Finally, regarding power failures, it is “mountain living” and no matter what season, issues with the utilities do occur from time to time. We have updated our “Welcome Packet” to include information and phone numbers should there be issues with power, cable, etc.
We are happy to hear that they were pleased with our responsiveness as we try and be very helpful and thoughtful throughout the rental process.
We sure do hope you will visit our home. We look forward to sharing it with you!
