About Angela Pastorelli

I'm a Chicago native where I work as an independent jewelry designer and also re-seller of vintage collectibles, housewares, books and oddities. I also volunteer as a wolf ambassador.

Angela Pastorelli purchased this house in 2011

Why Angela Pastorelli chose Southwest

The property was the garden for the farmhouse to the north. One visit and I was sold. There are many plantings that are over 60 years old. The former owner/artist/gardener constructed a stone wall on the property with stones he gathered by hand all over Michigan. The home was built in 2011 and won the Saugatuck Historical Society's Preservation Award for New Construction. It is a huge honor to receive this recognition.

What makes this house unique

Beautiful view of historic gothic church across the street. Lower and upper porches for hanging out. Fire pit for gathering around for nightly relaxing and conversation. 1st and 2nd floor bedrooms are en-suite and staggered on each level to optimize privacy.

Well...I would say perfect

  • 5 of 5

We had 6 adults and two young children (27 months and 4 months).

Each of us had our own floor for privacy.

The interior design of house was beautiful with all high end materials.

We cooked on the grill.

Had two fires in fire pit.

Restaurants are two blocks away.

Walked to playground.

It is all we could ask for at a fair price.

Fantastic home in Saugatuck

  • 5 of 5

I handed stayed in at least 30 HomeAway places and this is one of my favorites! The house is so thoughtfully laid out and decorated. The 3 bedrooms are each on a separate floor and are staggered so none are below the other.

We spent most of our time in the backyard either drinking coffee in the morning or enjoying a fire in the fire pit.

The home is only 2 blocks from town. It is a little uphill back to the house

For breakfast try Pumpernickels, Uncommon Roasters or Ida Red's Cottage. For dinner don't miss Hercules.

Angela is very responsive to text messages and also refunded my deposit on check out day.

Lovely home, tastefully decorated and well-stocked with everything you might need.

Very comfortable home in a great location - 5 minutes walking to downtown Saugatuck, and lots of wonderful beaches just a bike ride away: didn't use the car all week! Definitely a rental I would return to.

Outstanding! Perfect Vacation cottage!

  • 5 of 5

The Hansel and Gretel cottage was the perfect house for our family vacation! We loved everything about it! The first thing we noticed when we walked in was how spotless it was and the many windows that made it so bright and cheerful! The decorating is what every lake cottage should be – whimsical, interesting and comfortable! Our 3 couples appreciated having lovely rooms with queen beds each with their own bathroom! Angela provided everything we needed! The kitchen was well stocked and the closets were many and very spacious.

We were surprised to find the cottage was very “baby friendly.” The permanent gate that separated the staircases from the kitchen was wonderful! And the lower level family room worked out great for our grandson’s crib. There was even a high chair and plastic plates and bowls for him. We spent lots of time relaxing on the patio in the back yard and on the front porch! Having the whole yard fenced was very helpful in keeping our little explorer safe in the yard! And being able to close the gate on the driveway was an unexpected bonus, too.

You couldn’t beat the location either! The neighborhood is quiet and very pretty with friendly neighbors. It’s a very short two block walk to downtown Saugatuck where there are many charming restaurants and shops. It would get busy with tourists and it was so nice that we never had to worry about parking there!

Last but not least I have to mention that Angela was a delight to work with! Her responses to our questions were always quick and helpful. We hope to return to Hansel and Gretel soon and will certainly recommend it to our friends!

gorgeous house, great location

  • 5 of 5

The house is beautiful. It has a well-equipped, well-appointed kitchen with all the necessities; we cooked every day of our 7 night stay.

It also has a grill and a fire pit; we made burgers, steaks, salmon, and s'mores. Couldn't ask for a better set up.

All three bedrooms are a nice size and have en suite bathrooms; great for the six of us; three couples from three different states meeting up for our annual July 4th week together. The house is nicely decorated but not over-stuffed with breakables; important to us because we had three toddlers who like to grab whatever is within reach. There was a security gate to keep the kids from going up or downstairs, and the owner provided a high chair, which we very much appreciated.

The house is on a quiet residential block, but is only a five minute walk into downtown Saugatuck. Perfect house, perfect location. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
