Cool off in the awesome clean water at our lake and get away during the heat? We have the first week in August available now!!! Lots of last minute discounts too!Want to relax and unplug? Interested in a read away? There is a single bed in a nook in the loft that is a readaway extra. Or, read in comfort at the lake. Forest bathing hikes are everywhere.
A perfect getaway that is close by and a WORLD away!!!
The LOFT is a unique private large 690 s.f. modern cabin like structure with great forest and garden views and access to our own private beach on this clean beautiful mountain lake, GOOSE POND. The area is spectacular.
LOCATION
The loft/lake are a short drive from Exit 10 of MA Pike in a countryside lake setting, near all of the cultural offerings that the BERKSHIRES has to offer: Tanglewood, Berkshire Theatre Festival, Shakespear and Co., Norman Rockwell Museum, Jacob's Pillow, Naumkeg, Kripalu, just to mention a few. Fantastic boutique shopping and great cafes are pleasant destinations in area towns. Fall is beautiful here. There remains a lot to do too.
LOFT
The LOFT is a stand alone structure behind the owner's house.. It has a thoughtful, comfortable floor plan. All of our previous guests have commented that the Loft is much bigger than it appears in pictures, that it exceeded their expectations and is much more charming than any of the pictures depict it. There are designated areas in this open floor plan: bedroom area with a king bed, a kitchenette area equipped with small appliances and retro refrigerator, a dining area, a great living room area complete with a freestanding gas stove and a futon , a single bed situated privately in a raised alcove accessed by a 3'ship's ladder and a good sized bathroom with a generous sized shower. The Loft has an outdoor grill with a side burner on the large private back deck in the woods, internet, air conditioning and both the back deck and front deck are accessed by glass French Doors which let in all the light and brings the outdoors in.
LAKE
The walk down a tree lined path reveals a large flat lawn that borders the shorefront/beach of our beautiful lake.. There is a dock for hanging out in one of many zero gravity chairs or adirondil chairs, doing yoga with water surrounding you or fishing. Relax on the lawn in one of our unique Steamer Chairs. The swimming in this gorgeous, clean lake from our sandy beach is beyond compare. Kayak (5 available for use along with vests), take in the scenery and watch for the eagles and great blue herons at owners' private lakefront on Goose Pond, a large very clean and beautiful 270 acre lake of which the majority is in preservation. There are bocci and cornhole as well as indoor games.
HIKING
Hike around the top end of the upper lake or into the infamous Tyringham Valley on the nearby Appalachian Trail. There are many hiking opportunities surrounding us.

There are many great restaurants in the area.

This IS the quintessential vacation experience!!

INCREDIBLE IN FALL AND...
The early summer and fall are also perfect times to visit the Loft and the Berkshires in general. The area is quieter and the scenery is spectacular. Fall foliage on the lake is something not to be misted and the free standing gas stove makes the evenings in the Loft cozy and contributes to a warm and inviting atmosphere. Cultural opportunities are offered year long. Come and enjoy!

If you love lake swims and quiet nights, the Loft is a great spot! The space is thoughtfully laid out and we had plenty of room for three adults. Gail and Tim are right next door and incredibly generous and thoughtful hosts. We hope to visit again!

We loved our little tree house. The loft was very clean, the host was very gracious and helpful, and the beds were very comfortable. Our nine-year-old adored her nook and I enjoyed the luxuries of fat towels and bathrobes. The surprise was a heavy rainstorm, so we made use of the games and puzzles one afternoon. It was a wonderful stay! Thank you!

My brother & I stayed hear again on Goose Pond. We could not believe we were able to book it again. Tim & Gail are amazing hosts. We had a delightful time sailing, kayaking, hiking & exploring the Berkshires! It is a quiet beautiful getaway.

What a find! Goose Pond Lake is so peaceful and small enough to paddle its length comfortably. In late August, the water was 78 degrees and very comfortable to swim in, plus the water is very clear. The property itself is beautifully maintained and the loft space was built by the owner who has spent his whole life on the lake. It's pretty close to Lenox and Stockbridge, and a bit farther to Great Barrington, Egremont, Pittsfield and other towns, but the rides are very pleasant. If you're looking for a spa-like setting like Prospect Hill, you won't find it here, but you will find peace and nature's beauty.

Excellent little apt on an exquisite lake with nice views over top of front house roof. Note: the cell service is minimal and the wireless connection not much better. But good Roku tv.

Hi Julian, We are sorry that you had difficulty with our Wi-Fi. We weren't aware of this. Actually, we did reboot the router once we read your review. Now the Wi-Fi i working great. Usually there is good service using wifi. Of course being out in the country here, connecting to major networks is challenging. Verizon service seems the better one if one is outside. We are pleased however, with how much you enjoyed the lake and you even got in your long distant swims😊 And you scored inside seats to see JT at Tanglewood at the last minute! We enjoyed meeting you both and are pleased that you found the Loft to be "excellent" and our lake "exquisite".

It was easy enough to find the property when following the coordinates that Gail sent us. We were greeted upon arrival and shown around the property. It’s a lovely setting. Beautiful gardens and the lake is crystal clear and perfect for swimming. Wish we’d had more time to kayak around the lake. Maybe next time? We were there for a visit to Tanglewood and the location was convenient enough while giving us more space and amenities than typically found in other lodging options in the area. We found everything we could have needed in the kitchen and bath. The bed was comfortable (tho it’s only open on one side so some crawling over a partner is necessary). There was a cute single bed loft space that would be perfect for a child or just curling up with a good book. The living room was comfy and a great place to relax after long days touring the gorgeous area. We’d definitely stay again!

I don't really want word to get around, but honesty compels me to say that this place is a little slice of heaven. The hosts are lovely people who made us feel like special guests, while still allowing us our privacy. They were available when needed, were sociable when we were down at the lake together, and are so friendly that we were instantly comfortable. I want them to be my neighbors! The lake is beautiful, incredibly clean, and so lovely to swim in. There are mats on the lake floor near their beach, so there is no squishy, slimy, rocky bottom to be navigated as one gets in or out. The kitchen is quite small and tucked beneath an eave. It has been fitted up thoughtfully, but don't expect a full-size kitchen. I was still able to cook a meal for company in the Cuisinart countertop oven. The bed is really comfortable, too. This place may be small, but we thought it was a little slice of heaven!! We hope to go back!

We really enjoyed our stay at the loft and hope to re-book again in the future! Gail and Tim were extremely nice and gave great recommendations around the area. They meet you at 4pm upon arrival to give a little tour and welcome you. It was very nice. They’re the type of people you can easily hang with :). They had numerous kayaks available for use along with the hydro bike. Although the property is shared with the hosts, they were very respectful and I felt they gave as much space/privacy as possible. The loft itself was small, yet roomy at the same time! King bed, futon and even a twin mattress in the upper right of the loft’s loft (ha). Very clean with all basics included. I appreciated the extra touches of paper towel/toilet paper origami and cozy Loft embroidered robes :). Window AC available for use but we didn’t end up needing it with the fans going and doors open. Just be careful when you go upstairs or into the bathroom- the ceiling is low! “Duck or bump” is posted as a warning which is comical yet effective. Thanks again Gail and Tim for sharing your awesome space! Hope to be back again next year.

We have lived on Goose Pond all of our adult lives and have raised our children here. My husband actually spent summers here while growing up and has never considered living anywhere else.

What makes this property unique

Goose Pond is an incredible mountain lake. We have always been in love with it. Goose Pond consists of 2 lakes connected by a channel. Upper Goose Pond is spectacular and is surrounded by National Park Land while much of Lower Goose Pond is in preservation too. It is a large 'mountain' lake that is very beautiful, clean, quiet and sought after by many especially those who kayak and canoe. Bird watchers will love it here. The bald eagle, great blue heron, osprey, loon and many others are seen almost daily. The lake provides great fishing and is stocked with salmon and trout and has native fish including bass as well. The pnly public access to the lake is a boat ramp so the only way to enjoy relaxing beach life is from private property and very few, if any are offered on our beautiful lake! In the fall, the mountains around the lake provide spectacular views as does the hiking available throughout the area. Fall is also an incredible season on our mountain lake and the gas stove keeps you toasty and has great ambiance.
