COZY LOFT w/ PRIVATE BEACH ON GORGEOUS MOUNTAIN LAKE IN THE BERKSHIRES


The LOFT is a unique private large 690 s.f. modern cabin like structure with great forest and garden views and access to our own private beach on this clean beautiful mountain lake, GOOSE POND. The area is spectacular.
LOCATION
The loft/lake are a short drive from Exit 10 of MA Pike in a countryside lake setting, near all of the cultural offerings that the BERKSHIRES has to offer: Tanglewood, Berkshire Theatre Festival, Shakespear and Co., Norman Rockwell Museum, Jacob's Pillow, Naumkeg, Kripalu, just to mention a few. Fantastic boutique shopping and great cafes are pleasant destinations in area towns. Fall is beautiful here. There remains a lot to do too.
LOFT
The LOFT is a stand alone structure behind the owner's house.. It has a thoughtful, comfortable floor plan. All of our previous guests have commented that the Loft is much bigger than it appears in pictures, that it exceeded their expectations and is much more charming than any of the pictures depict it. There are designated areas in this open floor plan: bedroom area with a king bed, a kitchenette area equipped with small appliances and retro refrigerator, a dining area, a great living room area complete with a freestanding gas stove and a futon , a single bed situated privately in a raised alcove accessed by a 3'ship's ladder and a good sized bathroom with a generous sized shower. The Loft has an outdoor grill with a side burner on the large private back deck in the woods, internet, air conditioning and both the back deck and front deck are accessed by glass French Doors which let in all the light and brings the outdoors in.
LAKE
The walk down a tree lined path reveals a large flat lawn that borders the shorefront/beach of our beautiful lake.. There is a dock for hanging out in one of many zero gravity chairs or adirondil chairs, doing yoga with water surrounding you or fishing. Relax on the lawn in one of our unique Steamer Chairs. The swimming in this gorgeous, clean lake from our sandy beach is beyond compare. Kayak (5 available for use along with vests), take in the scenery and watch for the eagles and great blue herons at owners' private lakefront on Goose Pond, a large very clean and beautiful 270 acre lake of which the majority is in preservation. There are bocci and cornhole as well as indoor games.
HIKING
Hike around the top end of the upper lake or into the infamous Tyringham Valley on the nearby Appalachian Trail. There are many hiking opportunities surrounding us.

There are many great restaurants in the area.

This IS the quintessential vacation experience!!

INCREDIBLE IN FALL AND...
The early summer and fall are also perfect times to visit the Loft and the Berkshires in general. The area is quieter and the scenery is spectacular. Fall foliage on the lake is something not to be misted and the free standing gas stove makes the evenings in the Loft cozy and contributes to a warm and inviting atmosphere. Cultural opportunities are offered year long. Come and enjoy!

The house is beautifully decorated, and very well appointed. (Although we didn't need to use it, the kitchen had every appliance you could possibly ask for). The hosts added thoughtful touches such as robes and slippers for the guests. The hosts were also very responsive and helpful when we had questions, and accommodating when our arrival was delayed until after check-in time.

We enjoyed our stay. This is our second trip to The Loft and we plan to return. Everything both outside on the lake and inside the loft was available and Gail and Tim Puntin are excellent hosts. Most or our time was spent enjoying kayaking and loating and swimming in the pristine waters of Goose Pond. Upper Goose Pond is a beautiful tranquil protected lake as it is on the Appalachian trail.

Another lovely visit!

This was a third summer visit to Goose Pond. Check-in is very straightforward. The hosts Don and Gail come and say hello. The accommodations are well-kept, the kitchen is small but well organized and very easy to use. Highly recommended!

AT Hiking

This property was perfect for section hiking the Appalachian Trail. The space was great for us and the kitchen worked out for breakfast, preparing lunches and one night eating in. The location is close to Lee, so there were plenty of restaurants to choose from. Sitting by the lake was wonderful and the hosts were very nice.

We have lived on Goose Pond all of our adult lives and have raised our children here. My husband actually spent summers here while growing up and has never considered living anywhere else.

What makes this property unique

Goose Pond is an incredible mountain lake. We have always been in love with it. Goose Pond consists of 2 lakes connected by a channel. Upper Goose Pond is spectacular and is surrounded by National Park Land while much of Lower Goose Pond is in preservation too. It is a large 'mountain' lake that is very beautiful, clean, quiet and sought after by many especially those who kayak and canoe. Bird watchers will love it here. The bald eagle, great blue heron, osprey, loon and many others are seen almost daily. The lake provides great fishing and is stocked with salmon and trout and has native fish including bass as well. The pnly public access to the lake is a boat ramp so the only way to enjoy relaxing beach life is from private property and very few, if any are offered on our beautiful lake! In the fall, the mountains around the lake provide spectacular views as does the hiking available throughout the area. Fall is also an incredible season on our mountain lake and the gas stove keeps you toasty and has great ambiance.
