Craftsman Style Bungalow With 3 Bedrooms And 2 Full Baths. Sleeps 6.

Our home has everything you need for a relaxing vacation. The living room, kitchen and dining room are open to each other which creates a lovely great room. There is a 45" flat screen TV above the fireplace. We have satellite TV, a DVD player, Netflix, and Bose surround sound. The kitchen is a gourmet chef's dream. It is beyond fully stocked with all you need to create a mouth-watering meal. The master bedroom has a king bed and its own bathroom. The shower is a walk in designed with 2 opposing shower heads. There is a flat screen TV with satellite, dvd, and surround sound. The guest bedroom has a queen bed and flat screen TV with satellite. The guest bathroom has a tub and shower combo. The office has a double bed futon. There is also WIFI. All beds have linens that are 400 ct. and down comforters. There is a great patio off the living room where you can sit with your coffee and people watch. If you want complete privacy all you need to do is go to our backyard. It has everything you need to enjoy a comfy chair, a good book or cocktail and the sound of the ocean. We have a large bar-b-que for your use as well. We will have beach chairs, towels, cooler, and boogie boards all ready for you to take down to the beach. There is an outdoor shower for you to rinse off with as well.

About Owner/Property Manager

We , Tom and Kathleen Koenig, have lived in Venura since 1991. We always dreamed of living at the beach and purchased this house in 1996. We rebuilt it 10 years ago. We LOVE Ventura and especially our area of Pierpont. We are close enough to LA so that you can get to all it has to offer in a few short hours yet far enough away to not have to deal with the big city hassels. Tom was an LA City Firefighter for 31 years. Kathleen is a professional artist. We are both semi-retired but keep busy with 5 grown kids and 10 grandkids. We have been married for more than 46 years and still have a GREAT time with eachother. we love the outdoors, traveling and entertaining family and friends. And our home and the area we live in means we have guests often. There is nothing like walking down to the beach in the morning and seeing the islands or dolphins surfing the waves. There is something magical about looking at the ocean and then turning around toward our mountains and seeing snow covering the backcountry. It is a slice of paradise ! We will do everything we can to make your vacation so memorable that you will be wanting to come back again and again.

Why Owner/Property Manager chose Pierpont Bay

Our property and the town of Ventura are in an ideal location. Again it is close to all of the entertainment options Southern California has to offer but we are nestled in a spot that it unique. Most of the beach communities are really crowded. The beaches, restauraunts etc. are packed with tourists to the point where it can make it hard to relax and enjoy. Not here in Ventura. We have all that the other beach towns have without the huge crowds! For Shoppers, our downtown has great women's boutiques, our mall has all the well known stores ( and it is just 5 miles from us) like Macys, H&M, Forever 21, Express, JC Pennys, Target. Camarillo Outlets is world famous. There are tours that come from around the world specifically to shop there. Getting there is a 15 minute drive. We have 2 Trader Joes and Whole Foods grocery store will be opening in the next few months. We have an amazing Farmers Market every Saturday in the downtown with our local farmers bringing their produce, flowers, cheeses meats and more to market.

What makes this house unique

We built our home to be comfortable and cozy. We want our guests to feel at home from the moment they walk in. We designed it to be light and open with lots of windows. When we were planning the backyard we wanted complete privacy and we have accomplished that. You could spend your entire visit here never getting in your car because everything you need is within walking distance.

Ventura is a bit of paradise. it is a stunning beach town that sits on the central coast. Our home is 1 block off the beach and best of all our beach is uncrowed and very private. We have a 18 mile bike path that will take you along the water front and up to Ojai. We have world class wineries less than an hour away. Our marina (2 miles away) boasts restaurants, fishing excursions, kayak adventures that will take you to the Channel Islands just 11 miles off the coast. Our downtown, a five minute car or taxi ride,has everything you could want...restaurants, theaters, boutiques, bars and nightlife. We host a Beers and Blues Festival in May that is awesome. We have walking tours for the 'Foodies' and Wine tours for the wine enthuasists. Our village (known by the locals as Seward Village) is less than a 5 minute walk from our house. There you will find a great pub and grille, an italian bistro with awesome food and drink, Dukes a local favorite that serves up burgers, beer and lots of fish , and a sushi spot. For the coffee and sweet tooth people ther is a coffee house with in house made desserts and a frozen yogurt shop. A Starbucks and grocery store is just a block up from the Village.

Notes:
Once you park your car you need not drive again until your departure…. everything is walking distance… restaurants, grocery store and pub all within a five minute walk! We also have a FREE Trolley that you can pick up just 4 short blocks away. It runs Wednesday thru Sunday and will take you on a loop to the harbor and the downtown with several on and off stops along the way.

The property was perfect for us

We were close to the beach and close to the store. It was roomy and very comfortable. The kitchen was up to date and had everything we needed. We especially loved the 2 outdoor seating areas. We'll definitely be coming back

We loved this house.

We felt at home right away. The house was comfortable and clean, perfect for our small family that traveled from different parts of California to spend time together. Once there, we didn't even need our cars. Whatever we needed or wanted was within walking distance - the ocean and a family-friendly beach were a block away. Stores and restaurants were were close-by. We'll be back.

Relaxing beach bungalow

This property was the perfect little retreat for a relaxing beach vacation. It is a very short walk (less than 5 minutes) to the beach, the grocery store, the liquor store, a quaint local coffee shop (or a Starbucks if you choose) and a couple of local restaurants. It was convenient for a morning walk on the beach or an evening drink while watching the sunset.

The house was clean with all the necessary aminities for cooking inside or on the grill. The back patio area was great for reading a book or sitting by the fire at night. The beds were very comfortable. The owner and her property manager were always responsive both before and during our stay when we had any questions.

Ventura is a laid-back beach town with a quaint downtown area and a nice marina. It is a short and scenic drive up to Santa Barbara which is also worth visiting.

perfect for a small group!

My husband and I had a winter get-away from Philadelphia, during which we took care of our infant grandson while our daughter attended a conference at a near-by hotel. We were as comfortable as if we had been at home, except more so given the contrast in Weather! Kathleen and Tom have created a beautiful, confortable and welcoming space. We wll definitely stay there again if we return to the area.
