About Russ Anger

A resident of Sonoma County in the heart of the Russian River Wine Valley. I am the finance/lending business so I cherish my time outdoors! Although I have a big love for world travel, I love the Northern California Coast in particular and all it has to offer. I love to kayak, fish, forage seaweed, explore the shores for treasures and sometimes just hide away in a sandy cove with a book a cold beer.

Russ Anger purchased this house in 2013

Why Russ Anger chose Jenner

It is rare to find a property like this along the water. So when the chance presented itself I jumped. It was the right decision. Although I don't get to spend as much time there as I would like, I get so much positive feedback from the guests experience. Beautiful much nature and fun things to see and find as you hike. I love to explore! The kayaking on timber cove is great! The sparsely populated area is always a welcomed get away. I really enjoy being on the beach, and in this area you can find great little sandy beaches, and have them all to yourself! For years I drove up to Timber Cove area either for the day or to camp overnight.

What makes this house unique

Next to the ocean, many state parks nearby including historic Fort Ross, beaches and wineries. Two restaurants close by, and many more if you want to explore Highway 1.

Fort Ross State Historic Park...approximately two miles south. Over 3,000 acres that includes a wonderful visitor's center with interpretive exhibits, a museum bookstore, heirloom gardens, hiking trails, sheltered Sandy Cove Beach, and great ocean views.

Salt Point State Park...approximately 4 miles to our north...over 6,000 acres, that includes one of California's first underwater parks, and also hosts a friendly visitor's center offering plant identification walks and activities for children. See the sandstone that played a vital role in the construction of San Francisco in the 1800s. The park has more than 20 miles of hiking and equestrian trails.

Kruse Rhododendron State Natural Reserve: Adjoins Salt Point State Park with 3 miles of pristine hiking trails. Beginning in late April the reserve comes to life as the beautiful pink Rhododendron blossoms appear throughout the redwood forest.

Whale Watching: The excitement is contagious during whale season. Join others who head west to view the annual whale migration. Grey Whales migrate south between November and January to birth, and return with their new calves between February and April. Look for the distinctive big blow, followed by the little blow of the young calf.

Fishing and Diving: A myriad of fish species live in our coastal waters. This is a very good spot for surf, spear, and rod & reel fishing. Abalone aficionados come out in full force April 1st when the season opens. For more information on fishing and diving regulations, contact the Department of Fish and Game @

Mushroom Foraging: The North Coast is well known for its seasonal, wild mushroom hunting. Intrepid foragers arrive in the area a few weeks after the first rains in late fall, as the area literally comes alive with an abundance of delicious wild

Certificate #1097N This is a remote house on the rugged California coast. Although a great get away - electricity can occasionally go out, particular during storms. When this this happens, the landline does not work and the water pump does not pump water. Lanterns and flashlights are available. Generally if the electric goes out, it is back up and running within a few hours. WARNING: Hospital is about 1 hour and 15 minutes away. If you require close contact to hospital services and must have contact to Doctor/Health care etc. you might consider a vacation rental closer to services.

Beautiful home, beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

My family and I spent a few days here and we loved it. We spent quite a bit of time at Salt Point State Park, stunning coast line and we enjoyed seeing the seals sunning themselves on the rocks. I enjoyed running the trails at the park in the mornings.

The home is beautiful and decorated nicely.

The first night I neglected to turn on the heat, we woke up to a pretty chilly house. I didnt make that mistake again!

Communication was quick and prompt, Pam and Russ were great to work with. The house was clean and well maintained.

Finding the entrance was a bit of trick. we passed it few times before we got it.

We use Sprint as a mobile carrier, they have ZERO service in the area. Bummer but I guess thats what disconnecting is all about.

If we are back in the area again, I will most certainly stay here again.

Beautiful seaside home

  • 5 of 5

We had the pleasure of staying here for a week over the fall. The home is spacious, beautifully decorated, clean and accommodated with everything we needed. We were able to explore surrounding wineries and countryside though our favorite memories were made overlooking the ocean and watching sunsets from the deck. The owner is a wonderful host and very easy to communicate with. We’d love to return for another visit!

Seacreat at Timber Cove Getaway

  • 5 of 5

A very nice property with a relaxing atmosphere. There were a few other homes nearby, but they were vacant during our stay. Even if they had been occupied the property still affords a lot of privacy. The home was clean, well equipped, and secure. The communication with the property management and owner was handled very well. The rental faces the ocean, so there's a view from the deck that receives full sun most of the day. The Fort Ross convenience store and beach are within walking distance in the event supplies/food are required, or to enjoy a sunset at the nearby bluff across the street from the store. Jenner is also close by which is an extremely cool town where the Russian River meets the Pacific Ocean (a must see). If in Jenner I would highly recommend "River's End" restaurant. Nice people and great food. You might also consider taking a trip on Hwy. 116 from Jenner to Sonoma's wine country. You'll enjoy a nice drive that follows the Russian River through some quaint towns along the way. We were also fortunate to see deer, turkeys, quail, hawks, and eagles on the property and nearby during the stay. Just driving along Hwy. 101 is an experience in itself. There are many turnouts that afford great views of the ocean and access to beaches. An overall great experience. Todd & Darlyne...Troy, Ohio

Beautiful spot, lovely home

  • 5 of 5

We had a perfectly relaxing family getaway at Seacrest. The home is outfitted with everything needed to spread out, prepare meals, and explore the Sonoma coast. We especially loved the great room with its high ceiling, natural light, and stellar views. This is a great place to kick back and enjoy nature while being spoiled by comfortable and tastefully-decorated accommodations.

A great get-a-way location. Quiet, well appointed and relaxing. No traffic.

Very relaxing getaway. There was nothing we wanted that we didn't have. It would have been nice to have a gallon of water instead of the two sparkling waters since you can't drink the water. We were fine just went to the local shop and got a few gallons for drinking and coffee. The furnishings, decor were all wonderful. Very comfortable. Thank you, we will be back.
