My wife and I and friends stayed at Cayuga Dacha in February. Adrienne was very easy to deal with and gave us a lot of information on what to do around the area. The house is definitely a good price for what you get. The keyless lock system was a plus so that everyone could access the house and not worry about keys. The house was extremely clean and I liked that they have duvet covers which are washed. It was nicely decorated, modern furnishings with some antiques and artwork that make it feel like a home still. The owners must be good cooks judging from the delicious looking food photography that made me really hungry above the breakfast nook (The table and chairs were cool by the way). They also had everything you would need from dishes, wine glasses, stainless steel and cast iron pans to spices, olive oil etc. A lot of times I rent a house and they don't even have salt and pepper there. They even had a rice cooker that I used and for once I didn't mess up rice! Be careful when pouring coffee from the carafe though, because it spills easily. They also put "watch your step signs" to warn you about the step up to the kitchen and down to the main bathroom. There was plenty of toilet paper, paper towels and clean towels available. The house is right on Cayuga lake- no road in between, just a nice big lawn leading to the dock that was snow covered when we went but still very pretty, especially the sunset that you get on this side of the lake. It is across from the wildlife preserve and there were still geese and other birds there since the lake didn't freeze all the way. I want to come back when its warmer and bring our boat and try out their kayaks. Friday we went skiing at Greek Peak which is about an hour away. Saturday we went wine tasting- liked Knapp which is near the house on Cayuga and then we decided to head down the east side of Seneca- Lamoreaux Landing, Atwater, and Ryan Williams. All had great wines and stunning views. For dinner that night we went to 84 Falls which is only 15 minutes from the house in Seneca Falls and had dinner and more drinks- good food and was a fun place to hang out. Sunday we went to Fleur di Lis Brewery and had a tasting flight- good, different beers with nice owners. Then we did a cheese tasting at Muranda Cheese Company which I'd also recommend, before heading home. It was a nice long weekend and there is so much more to do here in the winter than where we live in Pennsylvania. We will definitely come back!
