Damage and incidentals

Little communication issues with check-in due to cell service. We finally made contact and had a lovely stay.
Private and secluded rental
My husband and I rented this place in November and it was perfect for our needs. The check in process was very simple and easy. Once we got there, it was wonderful to be surrounded by sounds of nature, woods, and a creek. If you are looking for a place to relax and unwind, this is it.
The Farmhouse was very cozy and perfect for our needs. It comes with all the cooking kitchen items you would need to make your meals. The bedrooms and living spaces were warm and inviting and we got lots of great sleep.
The fireplace was wonderful and easy to use. We unfortunately did not get a chance to use the firepit, but it was nice to know it would have been available for our use. My husband loved using the porch to relax and unwind.
Since the property is located in the woods, there were some bugs, but that is normal for houses in similar locations.
Someone had mentioned that you would need a truck or SUV to rent this property and I would disagree. We used a car and had no problem traveling up and down the gravel road multiple times.
Overall, we would highly recommend this place. It is in the woods, but still close enough to everywhere you'd like to go.
Beautiful remote old farmhouse
Beautiful old farmhouse on private property. Cabin was clean besides the window sills. Property received a 3 in cleanliness due to strong mildew smell that caused allergy flairup. Must be some water damage somewhere, perhaps the bathroom. Loved the privacy and communication was great with the owner.
Do not rent this property if you have a car, it will not make it up the gravel one lane road. The road needs to be flattened with gravel, at one point you feel like you are going to tip over.
Excellent property for people looking to get away and have an SUV or truck. Nice easy hiking trails right from the property. Would have like to went horseback riding but it rained. You pass through a horse rental place as you access the gravel road.
We're so happy you enjoyed the peacefulness and beauty of the Farmhouse and surrounding trails and property. We take pride in offering a clean, quiet and inviting experience with clear and easy communication before, during and after your stay.
We're sorry to hear of any allergy issues you had during your stay. This is a new comment that we have not heard from guests before. We thoroughly check the Farmhouse before and after each stay and have not found any mildew issues or water damage whatsoever. We are also available at anytime during your stay to address any concerns and questions to help make your time comfortable, peaceful and enjoyable.
For future guests, the short, gravel road leading into the Farmhouse is regularly maintained and readily accessible by 2wd vehicle. There is no requirement for a truck or SUV to access.
Thank you for staying with us. We appreciate the feedback and are always looking to improve the experience for our guests.
Solitude has new meaning in this remote farmhouse setting.
This was my first Vrbo experience
And it was so easy. Marcella was easy to work with and I enjoyed having a wall heater in the bathroom to get you toasty warm on cold nights. Great screened in porch. Evening fire pit provided warmth and ambience to end a perfect day in The NC Mountains. This is a definite repeat for us!
Cozy and peaceful
The process was simple and communication was excellent. The property is as described and very clean and well stocked. The gravel lane was a little treacherous in a couple of spots, could use a load of gravel and some grading in spots, but added to the remoteness and privacy of the site. We especially enjoyed sitting on the porches, hearing the stream and the birds and other critters in the forest. This place is a taste of a simpler life. Not fancy but sweet and cozy, with all the conveniences you need. It's about 15 minutes to get to stores and restaurants.
Cell phone reception is pretty much nonexistent, but the internet works very well and there is a land line for guests to use, so that was fine.
Overall a very good experience, we would come again!
Rare, head of the mountain location with privacy and comfort in the heart of nature's beauty. Within walking distance of horseback riding with the welcoming, warmhearted folks at Sandy Bottoms Trail Rides. The Farmhouse and The Cabin are only three miles from the beautiful French Broad River. Blue Heron Whitewater Rafting is a short five miles away. A beautiful seven miles of scenic mountain roadways bring you to restaurants and shopping in the historic town of Marshall down alongside the River. From here you are only 30 minutes to Hot Springs as well. All of this and it's only 30 minutes to vibrant Asheville with its abundant shopping, museums, gardens, nightlife, and myriad other attractions and amenities.
