Perfect for using as a base to enjoy Carmel

This 2-bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment was the perfect base to enjoy Carmel, with the all-important dedicated car space. Tea-making facilities for a Brit would have been welcome!

Although I wouldn’t call this a “luxury” unit, it had 2 comfy beds to sleep in. A little dated, but it was ok. We really just slept and showered here and were gone most of the day exploring Carmel. We hadn’t read the listing completely and found out the night before arrival that there wasn’t a kitchen. Our own fault. There was a coffee maker, very small fridge and microwave. Overall we had a good stay

Read the fine print. While I knew there wasn’t a bedroom for each of us, I did not realize there was a weird bathroom situation. The bathroom had a toilet and a tub/shower. There were 2 sinks, one in each bedroom. Nowhere to wash hands if using the bathroom and you are the one sleeping on the pull out bed. No kitchen, teeny tiny college fridge, no utensils for eating take out. Basically this is a hotel room without the 24hr amenities. Also, the bathroom was not clean when we stayed. Carmel is an expensive place to stay, so it likely would have cost more to stay closer to the main drag. Knowing what I know now, I would have paid more or stayed in Monterrey.
