GREAT RATES! WONDERFUL Location! INDOOR HOT TUB! Hike/bike trails steps away!

About the property

4 Bedroom, 2 Bath, In Town, Steps From Nordic Skiing, hiking, and biking trails!

Feel your stress melt away as you take in the majestic mountains surrounding our edge of town retreat in the quaint old mining town of Crested Butte!

Our location is ideally situated just steps away from world-class hiking, biking and Nordic trails and only four blocks away from the popular West-Elk retail/restaurant district. The bus stop is a short walk away with free bus service to Mt. Crested Butte

This house was just purchased in the Summer of 2013. In September 2013 we installed new Bosch appliances in the kitchen. We also have 4 townie bicycles for you to enjoy the town and weather and to take in the sights.

The bedrooms sleep 10: The large downstairs master has a king, a private bath and an adjoining sun room with indoor hot tub. Main floor has two bedrooms: #1 has a queen with room for a pack-n-play; #2 has a twin over full bunk w/twin trundle. Upstairs has a large bedroom w/ a queen and lots of floor space for sleeping bags, air mattress, etc.

The views from the kitchen and living room windows are magnificent and the location is one of the best in town! This house is at the West end of Butte Avenue which is a relatively quiet and secluded spot, even during peak season. You are literally only yards away from Nordic ski trains, hiking and biking trails. Although the location is nice and quiet, you are still only a few blocks from the 'bustling' downtown of Crested Butte! The locals feel that the NW portion of Crested Butte, specifically including Butte Ave, is probably the most desirable place to be in town, and you will see why after staying here for a few days.

We look forward to having you!!

About Natosha Saltus

This house is owned by a family of 6 from Edmond, OK. This photo was taken after one of our many walks to The Third Bowl for ice cream on a summer afternoon! If you haven't visited Crested Butte, you really owe it to yourself to come for a visit. If you've already been here, you're already convinced!

Natosha Saltus purchased this house in 2013

Why Natosha Saltus chose Crested Butte Area

CB is known to many as 'The Last Great Ski Town,' 'The End of the Road' and 'Paradise' by locals, and it lives up to all of those descriptions! We chose this property because of its fantastic location on quiet Butte Avenue as well as very close proximity to hiking, cross-country skiing and downtown Crested Butte.

We are leaving our double bike trailer in the garage so you can either pull your kids to town or load it with your groceries so you don't need to drive to the store. There are also several other child/baby accessories to make things easier and more enjoyable during your stay. Five bicycles included!

What makes this house unique

We fell in love with this home because of the amazing mountain views! The house is charming and somewhat unique in CB with a bit of a Southwest flair. Mexican tile, blue tile kitchen counter tops, and a Southwest-style living room area rug all give it a unique ambiance. The house has a beautiful vaulted family room ceiling. There are wood beams and wood accents throughout the house, especially in the living area. On chilly Colorado summer mornings I sometimes turn on the in-floor heater and it warms up the floor & room quickly. Take advantage of the five 'townie' bikes included with this house. Crested Butte is only about 10 square blocks in size, so you can ride (or walk) from one side of town to the other in just a few minutes!

Great location on edge of downtown

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed this week with our kids and grandkids! Having the bicycles and the child bicycle "cart" was a blast. It is so worth it to be in town and this edge of town was just delightful.

Owner's Response: Scott, So glad you and your family had a great trip! The bikes are indeed great to have in CB. The town is so small, there is no place more than 5 minutes away. Come stay with us again sometime!

Functional house, comfortable beds = good stay

  • 3 of 5

Overall the house was functional and we had a great trip! Owners are very helpful and responsive. There are beautiful views from that backside of town and it's a nice walk to dinners on Elk.

Great in town house/close to trails

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful time in this great downtown house. The home was close to trails, easy to walk to restaurants, and lots of room for 8. Indoor hot tub was better then expected. I hope to be back in the summer with family. Plus pet friendly was a major plus.

Great stay!

  • 4 of 5

The house was great. Enjoyed our time there. We found we could have used another bathroom, which was not your fault, just those of us who had weak bladders! We could have used a few more wine glasses which maybe accounted for the weak plumbing, ours, not the house's. Beds were very comfortable. We needed a bit of direction using the cable, fortunately when the rest of our group arrived, that was settled. The additional kids' toys and books were much appreciated. We all loved Crested Butte and hope to get there for another stay. Thanks so much.

Owner's Response: Andrea, thanks for posting a review. It is much appreciated, and I'm glad you had a great time in CB! Thanks for mentioning wine glasses. This is the type of thing that I really know we are short on until a guess let's me know. I will take another dozen up this summer when I make my annual trek to CB. I will also take some additional kids toys and games. I know not everyone uses them, but they are nice to have when you have young children. On the bathroom, I understand. We always make sure guests know that it's a 4 bedroom, 2 bath house. This works great for most, but not perfect for large parties. I would like to add a bathroom upstairs, and I am looking into the feasibility of doing just that this Fall. At some point, we will make it happen, hopefully soon. If we can ever help you with anything, please email or call. Thanks again!

Everything we needed

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for an annual ski trip (3 total couples and one baby) for 4 days. The house was perfect. The location is great. We walked into town every day. The house is fully stocked with everything you would need to prepare meals and be comfortable the whole time. Highly recommend.

Love this House!

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at this house! It is within walking distance of downtown Crested Butte but the best part of all, it is located at the beginning of the road leading up to Peanut Lake. Made for nice morning hikes with breath taking views!

The house is comfortable and clean. It is great for entertaining. There is an outdoor grill and we loved eating and sitting out on the back deck.
