Perfect stay! Better than any hotel!

  • 5 of 5

This is such a wonderful house, so much about it was great!

It's located in a very quiet area where even the neighbors wave to you! It's extremely quiet and peaceful (except for the coqui frogs...they do take a bit of getting used to!) Here's a tip: if you are sleeping in the master bedroom, shut the bedroom windows and pull the curtains closed AND shut the bathroom door when you go to bed. This makes the world of difference! Honestly, at the end of our vacation we had gone to the Kona side of the island and missed the coqui's!

Anyway, the house is set up great. The kitchen maximized space and was set up with just about everything you could possibly need, including spices, foil/ziploc's, dishwashing pods, coffee filters, etc. The laundry was also set up with detergent, and the bathrooms had shampoo/conditioner and a hair dryer. We had all the comforts of home, to be quite honest! We had great wi-fi connection, so we were able to still work while on our vacation. We honestly couldn't be happier with our visit! Thank you for maintaining such a nice place for your guests. We truly made ourselves at home and will likely book here again!

All that and more

  • 5 of 5

This was a great place to stay Mike was terrific to communicate with and was quick to answer any of our questions. The rental itself has EVERYTHING that you could need while there. All kitchen utensils and appliances. The place is spacious and the evening breezes were a joy!

The rental was very clean and it was convenient to all that we wanted to explore while on this side of the island. Our trip included visits to Volcano National Park, the Lava Ocean Entry and were easily able to make the Waipi'o Valley and Waimea very doable!

Pahoa is a great town, but please understand that it is "quaint" and an "older" town. It reminded me of a an old western town. That said, the dining was delicious. We enjoyed pizza at Stato's New York Pizzaria and absolutely loved Kaleo's.

All in all, this was a terrific place to stay and the next time we are on the Big Island, we will be sure to stay here!

Quiet, clean, and homey.

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It's located in a quiet neighborhood, not counting the coqui frogs, which I enjoyed listening to. The property was very clean. It was a very homey experience. It was great to end our day of sightseeing by coming "home" to such a relaxing place. We made the mistake of leaving the porch light on while we were out. When we came home and the lanai was covered with insects attracted to the light. The motion lights at the front right hand corner of the bottom level were not working. Their operation would have been useful when we first arrived. We would definitely rent the property when we return. Thank you for the memories!

Very nice house. Price reasonable. Close to ocean

  • 5 of 5

We loved the kitchen. Ate breakfast at raised bar in kitchen. Everything you could need for equipment in kitchen. Plenty of ice with ice maker. We played a couple of games that were at the house. TV was nice. Bed in master was comfortable. Washer/Dryer worked great. Nice neighborhood. Wifi worked well enough for email, but did not work well enough for netflix or facetime. Not a problem for me. Can be a challenge for a teen with high expectations. I was happy about it because it forced everyone to spend more time together. We were very, very hot as the house is on the upper level with garage on ground floor. It was very humid when we were there. We knew there was not air conditioning before we booked. It did cool off very late at night. There were ceiling fans in every room. Frogs took me one night to get used to, but they were very loud and you can't close the windows -too hot. Location was off the beaten path from restaurants and shopping. It was close to what we wanted to do: Lava tree state park, lava boat tour. tide pools, volcano national park. We took a short walk from the house to see the ocean and it was beautiful. Always felt safe in neighborhood. Great 3 bedroom house! We would highly recommend it.
