We were having work done on our house so we needed a place to stay that was close to home and convenient. This house was very well kept, clean, spacious, and had a nice little porch where we could relax and enjoy our selves. It also has a spacious kitchen equipped with everything you could possibly need! Also, the owner and the manager were both very helpful and friendly.
The most house is amazing. It as everything and nothing you need. Lots of space for families and friends. The jewel is how beautiful the grounds of the house are. Just being at this house captures the magic of the big island. You must visit the beach park down the street from the house, most definitely not for swimming but you will see some of the most grand scenery the island has to offer. You will need a car but will appreciate the community near Pahoa and Hilo.
We stayed several weeks at this property and it was amazing. Everything was well maintained and beautiful. The master bed was extremely comfortable. The house was immaculately clean. I've never seen a more well appointed kitchen. Literally everything we could have possibly needed was there. I only regret there aren't more than 5 stars available to rate this property. One of the nicest vacation properties we've ever stayed at.
We truly enjoyed our stay. The house was nicely furnished and close to everything we wanted. It was quiet and you can hear the ocean from the deck or the bedroom. The town is great with local fare and great little shops. I would highly recommend staying here.
Lots of room...all the amenities listed and more!! Kitchen was loaded with all types of gadgets, pots, pans, dishes, soap and a dishwasher and detergent!! Bathroom had a walk in shower AND a separate jacuzzi tub!! The house was used to prep for a baby luau and store things..and it was..so relaxing to come home to after running around in hilo town....the house was ....PERFECT!! Definitely want to come back just to chill! Also, Mike was very quick in responding & super accommodating!! Mahalo piha!
Initially, I was a bit hesitant because of the location (relatively isolated from the main cities), but after arrival and seeing the house, I was glad we chose to stay here. The house is exactly what you see in the pictures. It felt like home! The kitchen is modern and fully equipped, the beds were large and comfortable, the lanai is fully covered and spacious, the bathrooms were nice, there is a modern washer/dryer combo, and the neighborhood was quiet (lots of friendly dog walkers). It is a 5 minute walk from the house to the ocean-side cliffs that the Hawaiian Beaches community is known for, so you can hear the ocean pounding them during large swells (perfect for sleeping). You also get an almost constant tradewind breeze all day long in this area, which keeps things nice and cool via flow-through windows. If not, there are plenty of ceiling fans to keep the air moving. The coqui frogs are quite numerous, as is expected in Puna, but they were not as deafening as they can be in some other areas. I actually like them, but they can be a nuisance for certain visitors. Also numerous in Puna are mosquitoes, but I think I saw ONLY 3 of them in the 3 weeks that we were there, and that includes after 7 days of continuous rain.
I would absolutely recommend this house to anyone, especially families, that don't need/want the typical beachside condo experience. Thanks again Mike!
