700 sq ft one bedroom vacation rental with top of the line amenities: fully stocked gourmet kitchen, sumptuous bathroom, and cozy and romantic bedroom with brand new memory foam mattress. Ideally suited for an adult couple traveling alone, and/or with pets. Eastlake Victorian carriage house, architecturally stunning. Owner received green design award for historic renovation. This unit exudes the charm of a bygone era, but has all the conveniences of modern living. Balcony overlooks main property, garden, and scenic West Cliff Drive. Peek ocean view. Private on-site parking and plenty of privacy, yet only minutes away from world-class dinning, a dream-like 10k jog/run/stroll right outside your doorstep, scenic vistas, and many opportunities to recreate and enjoy the great outdoors. Owner provides coffee, decaf, tea, and beverages for your consumption. Garage space available for storage of larger items, and washer/dryer available for longer term guests. Strictly no smoking, please.

Why Khristina chose Westside

Location, location, location! I never thought I would find myself living in a frilly Victorian---I am more the mid-century, post-modern type---but I have grown to love and appreciate the historic nature of my home and it's architectural style. And the view isn't bad, either. :-) I would say this vacation rental is most ideally suited to guests who are seeking non-standard lodging/accommodation that is superbly situated.

What makes this cottage unique

Landmark property registered on the National directory as 'Epworth-by-the-sea'. The carriage house was actually used to house a buggy and horses during the late 1800's. The bottom floor has been converted into a garage and storage; the top floor is the rental unit. Many of the original design features remain, including rough hewn floors made with redwood harvested from the Santa Cruz mountains more than 100 years ago. We are pet friendly (fees apply---please let us know in advance), and four-legged visitors seems to enjoy the area quite a bit. Off leash dog beach less than half a mile from the property. This property works exceptionally well for longer term guests seeking a home away from home. Guests booking for 30 nights or more are exempt from paying Transient Occupancy Tax (normally 11% of rental cost for stays less than 30 days). We are happy to adjust your rental quote accordingly for longer stays...just ask!

Charming House-great neighborhood

The Carriage House is a wonderful little hideaway within walking distance of the most beautiful part of Santa Cruz. My family loved the beach access and the quiet. It is very well-maintained and the customer service was way above and beyond what is usually expected. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting the full Santa Cruz experience. We were grateful to find this magical place and look forward to our next trip!

Perfect!

The Carriage House is wonderful! It's been beautifully restored and was spotlessly clean. It's location is perfect, within easy walking distance from the beach, boardwalk and town. Khristina was very responsive to the few questions we had. The Carriage House will be our first choice if we return to Santa Cruz (and I hope we do). Loved every minute of our stay!

Great Location - Beautiful Place to Stay

My wife and I stayed 4 wonderful nights at the Carriage House. The pictures don't do it justice as seeing it in person. We traveled to Santa Cruz for a long weekend to watch our daughter play two college soccer games. The location to everything was great. Khristina was wonderful and provided quick replies to all our questions prior to our arrival. Being able to walk Cliff Drive and down to the pier was an added bonus. We used Santa Cruz as our base that allowed us to drive to Oakland, San Fran, and to Monterey. Will stay here again if we ever return to the Bay area.

A Perfect 10!

The Carriage House is the most beautiful VRBO I have ever rented. Everything was perfect - beautifully designed, meticulously clean, great location, and the owner, Khristina, was charming and immediately responsive to our needs but utterly hands off otherwise. The property is right on West Cliff Drive within easy walking distance of the Wharf or the Boardwalk. We had a terrific time and were actually sorry to leave.

Simply The Best !!!

We have stayed in Santa Cruz at other properties in the past, but nothing....I mean nothing has compared to the Carriage House !!!

Khristine has made this place just amazing with such detail and character there is simply nothing like it.

From the setting, privacy and location of the house and surrounding activities available you will not find anything like it.

My wife and I celebrated our 25th Anniversary there as were got married in front of the light house just down the street 25 years ago.

Due to the delicious cupcakes Khristine got us to celebrate, we had to go seek out the local establishment for more....:)

We will be back again Khristine, but not soon enough.

Thank you for everything and your wonderful house to stay.
