Sleeps 2 adults maximum, no exceptions (one king size bed + one single bed). We added a single bed located in the TV room for two singles traveling. The TV/Bed room can be private by closing the curtains. To maintain the special nature and experience of your stay; sorry, not suitable for children and please, no smoking.
At the perfect elevation with cool Hawaiian breezes and away from noise and traffic this cottage/home gives you privacy with tinted glass windows, WiFi, cable, washer/dryer, microwave, dishwasher, AC and of course, plenty of aloha!
For the quiet, private persons you will find this to be a very special place to stay for a total retreat and recharged vacation. You will feel at home, private and at peace in this beautiful, tropical paradise.
We like to think of our place as a retreat from the world. A place to recharge, a base to return to, a feeling of peace and beauty. It is a home, away from home. Of course, we want the cottage to reflects this and wish our guests this experience.

I am a practicing Doctor of Acupuncture. My wife owned the first and longest opened boutique of Haleiwa. We just closed it after 47 years! Speaks Spanish, French, German and English. Great place. Great location. Quiet retreat, away from the tourist hustle and bustle. Comfortable bed. But the best part is the outdoor shower. Look forward to coming back sometime.
Really Nice Place to Stay on the North Shore
This cottage is beautifully decorated and we loved the location! Very well tended and taken care of. Great value for the money!
Their was a rooster and some dogs that liked to be loud on the adjacent properties...that was a little bit annoying, but we would still stay here again because the house and property are that nice.
Just as an FYI...the cottage is located on the same property as the owner's home. I can't remember seeing that in the description. Still private, but just wanted to put that out there in case others wanted to know.
Thank you for your review. As Justin said, neighbor has a couple of dogs and sometimes they bark. Lasts a 1-2 minutes and then they stop like someone flipped a switch! Weird. We, the owners, are on the same property, but totally separate. Total privacy. Other than occasional bark it’s really quiet. An acre and half of Country! Come back soon! And again, appreciate your taking the time to write your positive review. Aloha.
This is a great pace to stay and relax. Cottage is actually very large and well stocked with beach items, soaps and various other items. Bed was the nicest of any we slept on in our 15 night trip; just like being home. The historical town of Haliewa and Turtle bay are each just 10 to 15 minutes away. We lost electricity on day due to high winds and Rich above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Grounds were beautifully maintained. We would stay here again in a heart beat.

Large, lovely, well equipped spot above the north shore
Gracious hosts, beautiful spot. Large, spotless, well designed and equipped cottage with excellent kitchen (sharp kitchen knives!) and extremely comfortable king size bed. We enjoyed watching the Olympics on the giant TV in the comfy TV room. The hosts Rick and Inge are hospitable and thoughtful. There's no lanai or regular outside eating space, but they planted two very comfortable chairs on their large, lush lawn and invited us to lounge there all we wanted. It was peaceful watching the wind mills turning across the tops of the trees.
Beautiful, peaceful stay
The guest house was a spacious and welcoming place to stay. It was exceptionally clean and all Ammenities functioning properly. Up in the hills, or was peaceful and out of the hustle as we had been looking for. Rick was more than accommodating for anything we needed as well. Thank you!
North shore paradise
We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet of being away from the hubbub of Waikiki.
The owners were very kind and considerate of our privacy, and provided us a refuge to kick back and relax for the full 2 week stay.
The property is just as described in the listing, especially the California king size bed with luxury linens and super comfortable mattress. We especially enjoyed the outdoor shower, which brings a special meaning to the term "being close to nature".
With all that being said, other guests should realize that dining options are rather limited in this area of Oahu, unless they are prepared to drive about 10 miles into Hale'iwa every time they want to go out for dinner. Many food trucks are closer to the property around Pupukea, but are not fine dining and are probably more for the surfer crowd.
A car is a must for any renters, as the north shore is about an hours drive from Honolulu. Even the local Foodland grocery store is a 2 mile jaunt down a rather steep road from the cottage, so not a walk-able outing.
Located in the 7 mile surf mecca of the world. Legendary Waimea Bay, Pipeline, Sunset Beach are all minutes away. Premier North Shore snorkeling at Sharks Cove is minutes away. You are on an acre and half gated quiet estate. Along with the best beaches in Hawaii you are also a couple of minutes from mountain trails for hiking. Foodland Grocery store is 5 minutes away, 2 miles (next to the Coffee Bean for you coffee lovers) and the North Shores most famous town Haleiwa is 9 miles away. Two 18 hole World class golf courses at Turtle Bay Resort is just a few miles down the road. Sunset beach and Banzai Pipeline is 3 miles down the road, Waimea Bay 2 miles away, Sharks Cove at bottom of hill!
