This apartment is a short walk from the beach, you will also find some beach gear on the patio including an extra boogie board which we left. The Appartment was well stocked with kitchen utensils and appliances. One tip I can give you is if you want quarters for the washing machine don't ask the receptionists in the lobby as they refused to give us any as we did not book the apartment through the hotel chain, which I thought was quite rude of them. Overall it is a great apartment and I would definitely stay there again.
The property manager was very helpful.
The vacation rental was spotless.
I was very happy with the location.
I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
Overall, I recommend this vacation rental.
Our family loved this apartment but it is a little small for a family of 5. Excellent views and excellent facilities. The unit had free parking which was a bonus. There is also some beach gear which we added to when we left a extra boogie board etc. The unit is also only a short walk to the beach. The only complaint was we went to the front desk and asked for quarters for the washing machine and they refused as we did not book through the hotel itself so they were not helpful at all.
Communication between me and the property manager was great.
We got into the unit without a hitch.
I was pleased with the location, view and PARKING included.
There was so much to do within walking distance.
My only recommendation would be that there are several little things that could be improved upon that would make the place a lot better- for example, fixing the dresser drawer that was broken, stocking the unit with more towels, pillows and blankets, table lamp posing as a floor lamp by setting it on a stool, etc.
None of those little things would keep me from staying at the condo again.
Overall I'd still recommend it.
We have just returned from a stay at this condo. It was clean and, aside from towels, well stocked. It was laid out well and felt spacious despite its small size. We are a family of four (two kids: 2 year old and a 9 year old). Only two sets of towels were set out for us. We had to rummage in the bedroom closet to locate more towels. There were just enough bath towels available. No beach towels are provided. (The property has other beach-related items available for use.)
The condo had a futon frame and mattress in the closet, so we were able to make up a bed for our toddler on the floor - which was safer for him and gave the rest of us a little more space for sleeping. NOTE: The condo description says that there are two queen beds in the bedroom area. This is incorrect. The two beds are DOUBLE/FULL sized. Two grown-ups will have difficulty sharing a bed. That said, the beds and pillows were pretty comfortable.
The big issue was the air conditioner located in the living room. While the unit worked well, it leaked into the condo under the vinyl floor tiles and, given the warping, has clearly been doing so for quite a while. We had to lay a towel over the area because of the water droplets pushing up from under the floor covering. Also, there was a large, unsightly plastic tub filled with water (and green stuff growing in it) under the air conditioning unit on the balcony. It had not been emptied prior to our arrival. I understand it was there to ensure condensation did not leak onto the balcony, but it did anyway along the glass window/sliding door (leading to the leak inside the condo), which produced a large pool of standing water in the middle of the balcony. We would sweep the water out the drain hole in the exterior wall of the balcony in the morning, but there would be a sizable pool again by late afternoon. As a result, we were unable to sit outside and enjoy the view and sunset in the evenings. This was a big disappointment. Nor could we let our children out at any time. We left this information in our feedback to the condo owner/letting agent, so hopefully this problem will be fixed quickly.
We just returned from our vacation in O'ahu and had a comfortable stay at the Waikiki Banyan. The unit is up on the 29th floor and has a great view of the ocean. The view in reality it's better than the pictures. We have a 3yr old and a baby and the unit was a perfect size for us. The bedroom has 2 double beds and we put them together to make a massive bed so our kiddos won't fall off the bed. The beds were also surprisingly comfortable. The management provided extra sheets and towels upon request made prior to our arrival. Free parking is awesome and we never had an issue finding a spot in the garage. The kitchen is well stocked, has mostly everything you need to prepare meals. They even have a small rice cooker. The location is very convenient, a short walk to the famous Waikiki beach and the strip, although we had a rental car and went to different beaches every day. There is Walmart and Safeway within 10mins drive, Safeway definitely had better produce and food choices so go there for grocery shopping.
Downside: the unit is pretty dated and not really upgraded (kitchen and bathroom). No dishwasher, which was okay for us since we only cooked breakfast and nothing major but it could be an issue for others. The coffee maker and fridge are really old.. they work but I'd get newer ones if I was the owner. Also there is a vacuum cleaner in the closet but it's really crappy and doesn't clean well. You're bound to get sand on the floor even if you take off your shoes at the foyer bc after a day at the beach sand gets into your clothes and bags. I tried to vacuum the floors and it took me too much time and energy to clean a rather small size unit bc the vacuum cleaner didn't work well. Oh, and they have some cleaning supplies and other stuff stored in the closet so you don't really have space to hang clothes (maybe a few). There is a dresser in the room but one of the drawers won't open so we only got to use 5 and they're not that big.. they should replace the dresser. But other than that, we had a very comfortable stay and would rent the unit again next time we visit O'ahu!
