Amazing views, close to downtown, beautiful new house and property

This home has an open floor plan, lots of light and hardwood floors. The house is clean, modern, and comfortable.

The master has its own bathroom, a queen bed and large windows that look out into the woods and gardens.

The upstairs has two bedrooms. One has a queen and a daybed that opens to make two twins. The other bedroom has a queen and a double futon. The upstairs has a full bath with a tub/shower that is shared between the two bedrooms.

The living room is open to the kitchen and dining area and has a sectional couch and comfortable chairs.

The kitchen is brand new, modern and has all the basics you should need to cook and enjoy meals while staying here.

The dining area has a long table (center leaf can be removed if you want it smaller) and seats 8 comfortably but is capable of seating 10. We provide folding chairs to add to the seating capacity.

The covered porch is quite literally another room! It runs the length of the house and is 10 feet deep. There are rockers, adirondacks and a table that seats 6 comfortably and 8 if you squeeze.

Outside we have a patio area with a beautiful copper fire bowl and boulders for sitting around the fire. A short distance from the house is a picnic area that provides spectacular long range views. You will not want to miss this! We also have a loop trail that is about 1/3 mile long, plus some gravel roads for walking. If you are interested, give us a call when you are here and we will try to schedule a time for you to come see our chickens, ducks and goats.

About Steve and Louise

We bought this farm in 2010 and just finished building the vacation rental September 2013. We are so excited because having a farm with a vacation rental has long been a dream of ours! We have a small herd of French Alpine dairy goats and plenty of chickens at our home on the other side of the property.

Why Steve and Louise chose Smoky Mountains

I moved to the area 20 years ago to attend college at Warren Wilson College. I had to leave for 5 years to attend a doctoral program in Seattle, and though Seattle was a wonderful place, we couldn't wait to get our family back to the area. We have now been back since 2002 and watched this amazing town burgeon into a fun and popular tourist destination. This property is one of the few of its kind: a large parcel of land within 1 mile of Asheville city limits and only 10 minutes to the center of downtown.

What makes this house unique

This property is unique because you have access to beautiful spaces indoors and out. You also have access to woods and meadows, trees and views. It just depends where you decide to spend your time while you are here.

This house is also unique because it is situated on a farm, yet it so close to downtown Asheville and Biltmore Village. There are very few properties that can boast this fact. Most larger tracts are much further away or on steep land. This land is rolling and great for exploring.

Also, our land virtually backs up onto the Blue Ridge Parkway land, just look at the map. The entrance to the Parkway is only about 2 miles away and is the entrance where the Folk Art Center is. This is a great place to visit while you are here.

There are hiking trails both on the Parkway and at Warren Wilson College, which is only a few short miles away. We also have some short trails here on the property.

Very comfortable, well-stocked house, great location

This is a very nice home. Spacious, well-lit, tastefully decorated. Beds were very comfortable. Stocked with everything needed. The view from the back porch is beautiful. The location is very good--easy to get to downtown, Blue Ridge Parkway, food shopping. All in all a very nice rental and an easy experience.

Well-Stocked Home

A group of 5 of us (two couples and a single) stayed for 5 nights. The house fit our needs perfectly. It was very clean upon arrival and communication with Steve was clear and prompt both leading up to the trip and during our stay. I was impressed with how well stocked the house was with the essentials -- especially the kitchen and even the laundry area. When we weren't exploring Asheville we spent most of our free time at the house sitting on the back porch enjoying the view and each other's company.

Great property! Beautiful setting. Loved the huge front porch. Everything one could possibly want

This was our first stay in the Western Carolina mountains and we had just a great experience. If you love the out-of-doors and the mountains, can't think of a better place to visit. Our party ranged from grandparents in our 70s, young adults in 30s and 40s and a three year old and this lovely home was a perfect fit for all. Access to Asheville and the beautiful mountains was within easy reach. Highly recommend this property!.

Ever heard the saying, pretty as a picture?

This place has it all, clean, well stocked, spacious with a spectacular mountain view. It seems miles away from everything but actually close to the grocery and downtown Asheville. The owners were hospitable and accommodating.

This property is located within 10 minutes of the HEART of downtown Asheville, yet is on the edge of a 40 acre property and a few short minutes from the entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The setting is rural, but not remote. The house itself is in a cleared wooded area and gets a lot of light.

We are within a couple miles of restaurants, a drugstore and a large supermarket. We are also close to many trails for hiking including the Mountains to Sea Trail.
