About Lynne Decosmo

With my first roots in Massachusetts, twenty five years ago I was compelled to move southwest towards the sun! I landed in beautiful San Diego, but, in my heart of hearts, knew I was eventually destined for Hawaii.

Seven years ago, Magical Maui captured my attention, and my heart . . . it was then that I decided it was where I would spend my Golden Years. : )

I was a middle school teacher for 39 years and really did love my job and the kids, but was very happy to retire in June of 2016, and anticipate spending many blissful years on Maui!

My second profession is as a personal trainer. It's really my passion to both be active myself and to help others be healthy and strong as well. So, even though I am retired, I certainly won't be idle!

Maui is the perfect place to either participate in a wide variety of sporty activities or just kick back and watch the amazing sunsets! Guaranteed I will be doing some of each!

Why Lynne Decosmo chose South Maui

Right from the start, I knew I wanted to buy a place in Kihei . . . it is THE HOT SPOT on Maui! The beaches . . . a-a-a-ah, the beaches . . . they are wonderful, and just a five minute walk from my condo at Kalama Terrace. There's great shopping all up and down South Kihei Rd., it's in close proximity to amazing Wailea, there are endless places to explore, and tons of things to do.

I looked at a LOT of properties before finally settling on Kalama Terrace. When I stepped inside the unit I immediately had a feeling of 'coming home.' I couldn't wait to get to the lanai to check out the view. The sparkling pool with turtles tiled into the bottom was just three floors below . . . I'm on the top floor, so there's no noise from above.

I looked to the right and saw beautiful Plumeria trees . . . then to the left and was thrilled to get a peek of the ocean! Plumeria translates to 'melia' in Hawaiian, hence the condo name: Maui Melia.

My one-bedroom condo at Kalama Terrace is cozy, inviting, and well-stocked.

I know I found THE one!

What makes this condo unique

At the risk of being repetitious, the location of Kalama Terrace is perfect, in my eyes. It is tucked just off South Kihei Road, so it is quiet and peaceful. There are many full-time tenants here, which means pride of ownership, not your typical rental condo complex for sure.

My husband and I stayed at this condo for two weeks on our first Hawaii vacation. We were nervous booking something online, not knowing what may be in store. We were, however, not disappointed. The condo and Lynne lived up to everything that was advertised. Condo is in a great location and is just the right size for a couple. With the balcony overlooking the pool and shaded by beautiful trees it was the perfect place for morning coffee or evening relaxing. Lynne was in touch on a moment's notice and was very helpful with any suggestions or issues. Thanks Lynne- we will recommend you and your condo to our friends!

Just a super experience!!!

This is a wonderful location, less than a block to the beach where we spent every evening watching the sun go down and the waves roll in! Ahhh...

Everything within the unit worked well, it's higher up so no Mosquito problems on the balcony.

Very comfortably furnished and the bed was great too. The bathroom was very well done with a modern walk in shower.

Parking space was a little tight so a large vehicle might be an issue, But it would be a total pleasure to stay there again!

Great location

Close to everything in Kihei. Lynne was very responsive. Only thing to beware of is you have to allot time and quarters to launder the towels the morning you leave.

I do mention having to do the towels (but, it's not necessary to do the sheets) in the Arrival Instructions, but I took your idea to heart and have also added that quarters will be needed for the washer/dryer. Everything we needed

First and foremost, we have used VRBO on numerous occasions in the past and let me assure you that we have never encountered an owner so "on the ball" as Lynne! Communication was great and she was always lightning quick with her answers right from my first email in October to the last one the day before we left Maui Melia. As far as the apartment is concerned, it had all we needed to make our stay in Kihei a brilliant experience! It is a 5 minute walk from everything (bars, restaurants, foodland, paddleboarding, Happy hour, beach) and even less from the beautiful sunsets! The bed was super comfy and so was the couch. All the appliances were in excellent working condition. Many beach toys and floating devises for the kids, fins (although no mask nor tuba), 2 Tommy Bahama beach chairs, 2 coolers, two umbrellas (no sand anchor) and now a brand new beach tent with two noodles complete the beach paraphernalia. And we also left a Safeway card there should you want to save a few bucks on grocery. The pool is also never busy and super clean. The A/C is there but we only used it twice for a few minutes because there is always a nice breeze blowing in if you leave the patio door, the windows in the bedroom and the screened front door open. Sleeping without the A/C on caused no problem whatsoever. All in all, a great and clean apartment for two adults and the kids too but...aren't you supposed to be on Holidays? I want to treat my guests the way I would like to be treated when I go on vacation. Isn't the location the best? You mentioned so many things that are close by the condo . . . it does make for a relaxing stay, I think, when everything is a short walk away. I appreciate your leaving the beach tent, noodles, and the Safeway discount card (what a great idea!). I will also get one for the Foodland that's just down the street and leave it in the condo. Also, I usually spend about 2 hours cleaning after a guest leaves, but cleaning up after you folks was a breeze! Thanks for spreading the word about Maui Melia, too. : ) That really helps to drive traffic my way. Please be sure to visit again! I would love having you as my guests the next time you are on Maui! Great, affordable place for two!

Our stay was wonderful. The condo had everything we needed that we could not bring on a flight. (Beach chairs, beach towels)

The condo is very clean and decorated cute! The pool area is also nice and the water is like taking a bathe.

The property owner is wonderful, very responsive to any questions you may have.

We will be back!
