• Is this a studio bedroom condominium?
Once a Hilton hotel, the Kauai Beach Resort is a "condotel". It's like a luxury resort but many of the suites are individually owned. There is no cooking allowed in the room per Kauai County regulations, but there is a coffee maker and mini fridge with freezer plus a microwave at the fifth floor in the lounge.

• What's the difference between my suite and renting from the resort?
The difference is price and housekeeping. My suite is quite a bit less expensive compare to the Resort room rates start at $270/night plus tax. Mine starts at $129 per night : -no maid service during your stay unless you request it for an additional $45 for midweek cleaning if you stay over per week. The $300/night rooms have daily maid service. But -I do not charge a daily resort fee.

• Is there a kitchen?
No, just a 3.5 cu. ft. fridge with freezer and coffee maker. No kitchenware provided(no plates, utensils, pots etc.). There is a microwave at the fifth floor in the lounge

• What is there to do?
For short stays, you may want to keep it simple and stay at the resort enjoying the restaurants and bar, walks along the beach, tennis, spa, or one of the pools. The best thing about this resort is its parking includes the valet parking, it is the same price as self park, be sure you take advantage of that. Also, you can book all activities with the concierge desk, including Luau, helicopter tour, hiking, horse riding or dinner cruise. Or you can simply enjoy the spa there.

• What is the bedding arrangement?
The suite has one king size bed. It is ideal for 2 adults and up to 1 child using the king size bed and lounger(included).

• Do we need our own beach towels?
I will provide towels to use at the pool and beach

• Is there a resort fee?
There is no resort fee...a daily savings of $25. There is cleaning fee collected at time of booking which provides cleaning of the room after your departure.

• What about WiFi?
WiFi is free everywhere around the resort!

• Does the suite have air conditioning?
Yes. And nice ocean breezes.

-What is the check in and out time?
Check in at 4pm, check out at 10 am.

-Check in procedure?
Simply go to front desk to check in provide your name and booking.

-Parking is $30/day plus tax.

Kuai beachfront hotel

The property was beautiful! The pools and grounds were stunning!. The staff was very friendly and informative.. the room was nice but the beautiful rooms were not part of the VRBO, which is probably why they are less expensive.. I thought it was odd that we could not have new towels or room cleaning without extra fees because we were VRBO. It made sense for the hotel to do this for the rooms that are not in preferred view locations.. in all, for the price especially, it was a beautiful resort.

Nice resort

Clean, comfortable room. However the room was right above the kitchen or utilities. There was some kind of motor running that sounded like a huge bathroom exhaust fan so there was a 24 hour a day constant hum. I'm able to tune out background noise but my husband is the kind of person who can not. He was not able to sleep well and the sound drove him crazy. If this were a regular hotel room, we would have insisted on being moved to a quiet room.

Great value and very nice resort

Kaua’i beach resort is very nice I basically chose it for the pool and amenities and was not disappointed, the beach however is a different story you can not swim in the water this time of the year, anyway and if I could I probably wouldn’t have , this stretch of beach had a tremendous amount of trash and homeless people living on it and I counted 2 abandoned cars in the surf!! But the resort was very nice and well maintained and a great home base for activities , I would recommend this place for its value and because it is a beautiful property

Special attention should be given to the fact that when booking your reservation directly with the Kauai Beach Resort you enjoy many amenities NOT available to those booking through VRBO. For example, upon arrival at the airport, and to our surprise, VRBO visitors will NOT be able to use the complimentary shuttle but rather have to hire a taxi (rate about $15 each way). Also, there are several activities offered at the resort that are NOT available to VRBO visitors. The resort is isolated and if you’re staying there without a rental car you are limited to only using the property’s several restaurants, which can get boring having to eat from the same menu every day. Finally, the one thing that sticks out in our minds is that each resort room is assigned four complete sets of towels, including four beach towels. If you have missing towels upon vacating the room, you are billed from $25 to $15 for each missing towel. This is the first time we’ve run into this…

Great price and great location!

The Kauai Beach resort is a great property and perfectly located just north of the airport in Lihue. Having use of the pools and amenities on the property was handy, although we only went to the pool once and never went to the restaurants because there was so much to do and eat off of the property. We hadn't realized that we could have booked a room at the Kauai Beach Resort Directly and may have considered that just to get our room tidied up each day. That being said, the price was unbeatable and we're fairly organized and cleanly, so it didn't make much of an impact on us to not have cleaning service. The roosters will wake you up at 4:30 am, so be prepared! The room doesn't have a great view (parking lot) as others have said, but the proximity to everything on the island was great, and we didn't spend much time in our room, so the view didn't matter much to us. The coffee machine was a little temperamental, but my engineer husband was able to coax it into working. We ended up purchasing a couple of bowls and plastic utensils to make our own breakfasts, so the microwave and fridge we very handy.

Great Place!

The room and the resort were great! We loved being so close to everything and being able to drive anywhere on the island. My husband said the bed wasn’t as comfortable for him (he has a bad back), but I thought it was okay. The communication with Molly was not good. It took several attempts to get ahold of her, and when I finally called her I could tell she was trying to rush me off the phone. It made me a little nervous before our stay, but all in all it was good. Could have used a few more towels and coffee for a 6 night stay. 7 towels were provided (3 shower, 4 pool) and one single use coffee filter pack was provided.

This is a BEAUTIFUL property, inside and out

This is such a beautiful property, it is very well maintained inside and out, it has upscale décor and the overall feel of the property is luxurious and grand. The room was very comfortable and looked recently remodeled, the bed was super comfy with plenty of pillows. We absolutely loved this property and all the amenities it offered, especially the pool areas! There is a beautiful waterfall/grotto area that you can swim through or just hang out under if you need to get out of the sun. There are plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas strategically placed around the pool areas so you can get a little privacy or quiet time if needed. The onsite restaurants were amazing too but a little pricey so when we needed to eat and didn't want to leave the resort we ate at the Driftwood hut in the pool area... they have a decent menu and the prices are decent and drinks are tasty! The beach front is great too, plenty of room to layout on the beach, the water was a little choppy when we were there but the beautiful scenery made it worth while to hang out on the sand and soak in the sun. All in all this property exceeded our expectations and in talking to locals they were well aware of the property and it being amongst the nicest on the island. It is located conveniently to all the major thoroughfares if you want to go north for the Waterfalls or Lighthouse or south for more beautiful Beaches and Ports to charter a sail. My only complaint however, was with the hotel shuttle service... shuttle service is NOT available for "renters like VRBO" who book privately through an owner. I was irritated by this but I soon let it go after exploring the property. We would definitely stay again and thank you Molly we had an amazing trip!

Great central location, beautiful grounds, comfortable & affordable accommodations

I recently spent one week in Kauai, and this property was perfect for me. It is affordable, yet a very nice property with beauitful landscaping, pools, and a waterslide. The Lobby is open air, and everyone at the resort was very kind and accommodating. I spent most of my time exploring the island, so the central location and easy access to the airport made it a great choice for me.

I I think that Molly tries to please, but in fact, this place is pretty worn. It is not properly cleaned - the bathroom floor and all cupboards (inside and out) are ver grungy. If you want cleaning done while there, you have to pay for it. And don't forget to buy lots of toilet paper! We ran out on our last morning and were refused a roll at the front desk! I suggested to them that one may have to use the sheets for that purpose!!😝 I could not believe that they would tell me on my last morning that I needed to buy my own - shopping is 20 minutes away by car! Note also that the view is of the parking lot below and on your right. So your time in the room is accompanied by car engines and alarms, jets taking off day and night, and in addition, the scent of cigarette smoke from the bench below. The only good comment I have is that the bed is comfortable, though very bouncy - you can feel your partner's slightest move. The resort itself is nice. Pools are very good and beach is nice. Food menu limited and very pricey for food and drinks. Bar staff were great! Especially Dalles and Amanda! I have been to Mexico many times, and much prefer it for comparable cost.

Great resort and location

Hotel room on sunny side of island , right in the middle so great for exploring. Nice pool and hot tub, very comfortable bed and room for 1 couple. All in all we were very pleased, pictures do not do the pool and hot tub justice. My only comment would be they should heat the pool as it was a little cold. Would rent again for sure !

Great Resort

We were not planning on spending time at the resort, but there was so much to do that we took a good part of one day to sit by the many pools and waterslide, take a lei making class, and watch a hula show. For traveling the island, the resort was great. It's pretty much in the middle, so you trips to the north and south shores are both easy.

Nice place needs TLC

This garden condo needs serious attention to achieve its potential. The bathroom needs to be re-done. Very dated and the faucets do not work easily or properly. The same goes for the kitchen. Update the art work and decorations. And, for heaven's sake, WIFI!!!! A little investment in TLC and this place could be a gem, rather than the worn out beach rental it is now.-

Great place, some unexpected costs

We had a wonderful time staying here! We got to use all the resort amenities without paying resort prices. The room was gorgeous and we loved the pool and hot tub. The resort is easy to access and we got to see a lot of the island in our rental car. While we knew we would have to pay for parking, we were surprised when we had to pay a one time check-in fee and cleaning fee. While not that expensive, we didn't like having it sprung on us unexpectedly. We still would have booked the property if it was listed in the description on vrbo or in our contract, but we did not see it anywhere (maybe we missed it?). Just a heads up for those looking into this property.

Super accommodating staff, very nice room. All things good came with this room. The beach was super pretty, and it's literally a five minute walk -- I think shorter maybe. Very convenient to the airport, but no evident airplane sounds at all. Restaurants at the resort were pretty good too. Definitely would stay again

It was a really fantastic getaway. This place let me unload all my stresses and the owner always responds almost immediately, lessening anyone's worry. The pictures of the place were true to the actual location. Super convenient everywhere. I would definitely rent here again!

Beautiful Resort!

Everything was perfect! The service from the resort staff was phenomenal, and Molly's responsiveness was like no other -- she went through the greatest lengths so that we could have a comfortable stay. Although daily housekeeping would be even better, it was incomparable to the money that we saved through booking directly through a private party. Would definitely book again, thank you Molly for you hospitality!

Lovely Resort!

My husband and I celebrated our 40th anniversary here and it was beautiful! The resort has everything you need and the staff is warm and friendly. Our room was great although daily housekeeping would have been awesome. We paid extra for this service. Parking fees are high but we had booked with these fees included. Molly, the owner, was great to work with and we would definitely rent here again. Kauai is a stunning island of beauty and history!

Kauai Beach Resort

We found the property to be everything that was promised in the description. Clean, comfortable and well situated. The view wasn't what we expected, but there was no guarantee of a good view. The restaurant is very expense and there is no beach at the resort, but that's easy to remedy with a short drive. Lihue is well situated to explore Waimea and Kapa'a. We would definitely stay here again.

We have been going to Kauai over many years now and it's an amazing place. We own 2 other properties here on Kauai and have chosen kapaa because our love for the climate. The balance of rain and shine are truly amazing -- just enough rain to keep the green luscious, and the sun is always around for endless amounts of fun! Kauai also has such a rich history -- no one ever gets tired of all the trivia that can come out of a small area. This is an excellent place with gorgeous white sand beaches, lush foliage and sunshine on Kauai. Kapaa is right in the middle and equal distances from the end of the road in both directions. Perfect for exploring the incredible scenery of Kauai. Kauai has an amazing history. Kauai has so much to offer: 1. Waimea canyon has breathtaking views. 2. Polihale State Park has nicest beach 3. Kalahau Lookout at Koke's state park and it offers one of the life's most spiritual adventures full of wonder and awesome natural beauty 4. Sleeping Giant Trail, quick walk with awesome views every morning 5. Kauaai Aadheenam Hindu Monastery at Kapaa..it is an unbelievable and serene experience with all the other and too many fun place to explore...
