This quaint cottage, nestled in a quiet neighborhood of Oak Bluffs, is perfect for a romantic getaway, a special place to bring your favorite friends, or a wonderful spot to have a family vacation. Some guests also choose to have a solo retreat to read, write, explore, and re-center. Cottage visitors comment on the welcoming feeling they experience as soon as they walk in the door, and the sweet simplicity of this cozy abode.
The Cottage sleeps 4 easily. There is a queen-sized futon on the ground level, and a king-sized sleeping loft. The living area has a comfy cozy futon, TV (basic cable), DVD player (plenty of DVDs), an activity/game drawer, a portable stereo, and free wifi. The kitchen contains a full-sized stove, microwave, fridge/freezer, and a Keurig machine - so bring your favorite k-cups! There is a washer/dryer for your use as well. There are plenty of towels and linens, so no need to bring your own.
After a full day of exploring, bike riding, shopping, or finding creative inspiration, enjoy a nice dinner or a bottle of wine on the attached deck. It's a perfect place for star gazing too!
There’s plenty to do within walking distance, and a taxi or public transportation can get you to the other Vineyard towns, so a car is not necessary (but it’s nice to have). The Cottage is a mile from Oak Bluffs Center and the town beaches, so a 15 minute walk or a 5 minute bike ride will bring you to either.
Come make this lovely Cottage the heart of your own Vineyard experience!
I chose this cottage because it was so cute. It looked clean and peaceful. I needed a peaceful getaway. I achieved that and more. Lori (cottage owner) was spectacular. I definitely would like to visit and stay here again.
Thank you Lori for your professionalism and your kindness. Looking forward to returning.
This little cottage is perfect for a couple. My husband and I fell in love with the island. I had only visited on day trips during the summer and a weekend during the shark tournament.
Off season is so peaceful and fun. We brought our jeep and we were able to investigate the island. It was rainy but the temps were warm.
Lori is a joy to work with. Her utilization of such a small space is amazing.
I can't wait to return.
Thanks, Carol-Branford, CT
This was our second visit, and we'll definitely be back again. The house is small, and that's part of its charm. It has everything we need, and we love the cozy feel. Conveniently located, yet set back in a quiet neighborhood. Lori is super-responsive, and always ready with a suggestion or response if you need one.
Great location with easy access to shopping, grocery store ,restaurants and the ferry. Also when you have shopped too much easy to use Uber and Lyft to return to the cottage :)
There was not enough room to even have a table for eating dinner on only TV trays. The futon mattress was horribly sunk in. The bed in the loft was just a mattress on the floor and you could not stand up to get on you had to crawl to get on. Today I left a message for Lori explaining that we had to leave early (on Tuesday am) because of Jose (tropical storm) because the ferries weren't going to run on Wed Or Thur. (Our return day). We wanted to know if there would be some discount due us because of the situation the storm caused us. So the bottom line was I will not rent there again.
Lovely tiny cottage made our first visit to MV affordable, and had everything we needed!
This lovely cottage is located in a quiet neighborhood setting, but just a few minutes bike ride to the center of Oak Bluffs and town beaches. A car is nice, but not necessary. There's plenty to do within walking distance in Oak Bluffs, and a bicycle, public transportation, or a taxi can get you to other towns and beaches.
Some of our favorite spots on the Vineyard....For beaches - South Beach!! Great waves and free public access. It's a 15 minute drive from the Cottage. (If you are adventurous, it's a 50-minute bike ride) Inkwell beach is just 1 mile away from the Cottage, and State Beach is just 3 miles away.
After a fun day at the beach, you can head into town for dinner, shopping, or to satisfy your sweet tooth at one of the ice cream shops. Another 'must do' is to try to catch the brass ring on the Flying Horses, the nation's oldest platform carousel. There's also a large arcade that stays open into the night.
Walking through the 'gingerbread houses' behind the stores on Circuit Ave in Oak Bluffs takes you back in time and provides for some amazing photo opps. Be sure to visit the Cottage Museum to see what one looks like inside! There is also a Community Sing in the heart of the cottage campground every Wednesday night at 8:00 pm (in season) - quite an experience!
As far as eating, there are so many great places to go on the island, but these are some of our favorites... Offshore Ale in Oak Bluffs is great for casual dining and home-brewed beer. Sitting on the outdoor patio at Nancy's enjoying fried scallops and clams while looking over the harbor makes for a nice casual evening dinner. If you want a great margarita and a nice Mexican dinner while watching your favorite sports on TV, Sharky's Cantina in Oak Bluffs or Edgartown is the place to go. If you are a BBQ fan, Smoke N Bones (right down the street from the Cottage) has awesome smoked BBQ!! Other favorites - Mocha Motts is a great way to start your day - grab a bagel and a coffee and take a short stroll to the town beach and enjoy your breakfast looking out over the gentle waves...and Back Door Donuts (after hours in back of the bakery - usually open until midnight) is THE place to go for the most amazing, melt-in-your-mouth fresh apple fritters! Oh, and the ice cream shops stay open late at nite in-season, so if you have a sweet tooth, you'll be in good company!
There are so many things to do....Great Rock Bight in Chilmark for a nice hike to a beautiful beach...exploring the cliffs at Aquinnah...bird watching tours...bike trails everywhere...shopping in Oak Bluffs, Edgartown, or Vineyard Haven....the list goes on! Something we try to do before heading out to the island. It's gives a detailed calendar of events (and you can filter by town).
We hope that you are able to come and experience the magic of the Vineyard!!
