Bright, clean and comfortable, contemporary and uncluttered with a great view of the ocean and the lush tropical gardens below.
This is a very well renovated one bed/one bath unit in KA building C unit 509, nicely furnished and well outfitted. Being up higher on the fifth floor, the lanai provides both a good ocean view and a garden view, away from the noise of the pool/bbq areas and the main road. Use the lanai to enjoy a lazy morning coffee or bask in the last glow of sunset with a cocktail. Thoroughly outfitted kitchen (useful extras like a blender, crock pot, rice cooker, etc.), green granite countertops and hardwood cabinetry, updated appliances, gas cooktop, flat screen TVs in both living room and bedroom, AM/FM radio/CD player. Overhead air con unit in the living room, but the open windows and a ceiling fan on low keep it perfectly cool at night. For the daytime, our condo features a lockable steel screen front door. Day or night, the soothing Pacific breezes are comfortable and pleasant. The unit does NOT have central A/C.
The bedroom is also well appointed with a new king size bed, quality linens and a selection of pillow firmness. The linen cupboard is very well stocked with plush thirsty bath sheets and beach towels. The sofa bed in the living room has a six inch mattress to avoid that 'bar in back' feeling the next morning.
Highly desirable location in south/central Kihei, within walking distance to shopping, food stores (even an organic food store one block away!), services and restaurants, and the Maui bus stop only a few steps away. For those not wanting to rent a car, check out the ever growing network of Maui bus. Ask us about cheap car rental too. And then there's the beaches! Kam II is right across the street, but that's only one of several fantastic beaches within walking distance. Gorgeous Big Beach and intriguing Little Beach are only a 15 minute drive away. From the soft brown sands of our own Kam II beach, it’s normal to see whales playing offshore during the season, and it’s easy to go snorkeling right from the beach. Kihei Akahi also offers beautiful, clean pools and patios with BBQs, and a tennis court at no extra charge.
Especially for those interested in longer stays, there is a lot of cupboard space in the kitchen and bedroom, letting you get fully unpacked and feeling settled and sorted like you're at home.
We have many useful extras like binoculars, larger Tommy Bahama beach umbrellas and chairs, beach toys, a hotel-style safe in the bedroom, and more.
And finally, we are pleased that we can extend concierge services from Mike and Edy, our on-island support team. They are available to answer questions or provide suggestions (which restaurant? where can I buy? where is a doctor? what's the best tour for...? at no charge to you.
They will also provide fee based services at reasonable rates - need groceries stocked before you arrive? Want extra maid service during your stay? Contact them before you arrive or during your stay, they're there to make your vacation as relaxing as possible.

We fell in love with Hawaii from the very first visit. The soft breezes, sun and sand seem to soothe the soul. And whale watching from the lanai is an amazing experience! We're two working people who appreciate the variety of activities and pace that Maui offers, from the very active to the very sedate, and never a worry about snow or cold.

Kihei Akahi's location and its floor plans have tremendous appeal. Just across the street from a wonderful beach, and great ocean view, but enough distance from the road to keep things quiet. Walk down to the beach, which is optimally situated for classic Hawaiian sunsets, truly breathtaking. The floor and window layout is intelligently designed, you really don't need air con because of the effectiveness of the air flows when the windows are open. The combination of light breezes and the ceiling fans keep things cool and comfortable for a sound sleep. We also recognized the extra conveniences for longer stay guests, ie plenty of storage space in the bedroom and kitchen, free long distance phone, WIFI.

True spirit of Aloha
All communications with Jim were helpful, timely, and welcoming. The condo was lovely and felt like being in a nice home. Very well equipped with good quality materials in kitchen and bath. Lanai has view of garden type setting directly below with flowers blooming and birds singing. View of beach that is just across the street is beautiful. Guests here feel welcomed and cared for. Wonderful Condo In So Many Ways
From the first contact with Jim through to our departure, everything was perfect. Jim responds very quickly to any correspondence. The condo is directly across from Kam II. No driving required. The view from the condo is great. Everything in the unit was clean and well maintained. Well equipped kitchen, lots of towels, beach equipment and storage for your belongings. I love the fact that the decor is not Hawaiian. The chairs and sofa are comfortable to sit on. The grounds of the complex are beautiful. I love all the various plants around. Never a problem to find parking as each unit has a reserved spot. Jim's spot is in a convenient location.
I know we will be back to this unit again. Thank you Jim!
Great location, clean, but bad air circulation!
Perfectly clean and stocked with a great location with a nice ocean view. However, in the back of the unit (bed and bath) the one small bedroom window was insufficient and right across from the elevator. In the bath there was no window or fan. After a few nights, I slept in the living room. Could really use some Hawaiian decor, too.

Excellent condo and location
This condo is in a great location for beach and Kihei amenities. It was very clean and well furnished for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is very well equipped in all areas, for cooking at home or BBQ by the pools. There are lots of beach chairs and equipment as well as plenty of high quality towels for both beach and condo use. This condo had solid bedroom windows to reduce noise. Most condos in this development have slatted windows and can be noisy from elevators and roosters.
Kihei Akahi has newly surfaced tennis court and 2 great pools with tables and BBQs. We rented 3 condos for a family holiday with our children and grandchildren and all agreed it was an ideal location.
Thanks to Jim for providing an ideal place to stay, lots of information and also checking on us after arrival to make sure all was well.
Everything we needed
First off, the bed was so comfortable, place was quiet, and the kitchen cookware in excellent condition. The place had so may helpful items including flashlights and binoculars for sight seeing. Jim was not only quick but thorough in each of his responses to my many questions. I could not have asked for a better place to stay.
