*Beach information

The beach fronting the Royal Kahana experiences seasonal ocean current changes that influence the beach’s physical appearance and size. During the fall and winter, it is not uncommon that these currents sweep away a very large amount of sand, which will gradually return back in spring and summer, based on the ocean's current activity. Our homeowners Assoc., The County of Maui, and the State of Hawaii are working diligently to return Kahana Bay to its full potential.

This circumstance, unfortunately, affects the accessibility of our valued guests to the beach. While there may not be, at times, direct access from the property to the beach during the fall and winter season, there is a public beach access within 5 minutes walking distance.

Our guests' safety is of the utmost concern for us. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

You can stay updated on our ocean front access by viewing our web page, rkmaui(dot)com, and checking the postings on the homepage. We update the postings as soon as we receive new information from the resort.

awesome 10th floor view!

We really enjoyed our time here. It's a great value for the price. The view from the 10th floor is awesome. The unit was fresh and clean. We thought we would cook more but as it turned out we enjoyed many of the local restaurants. The Beach Club was good a breakfast and within walking distance. The best breakfast place bar none was the Gazebo...plan on a long wait if you go at prime time. We had a great burger at Cool Kats in Lahaina. Thanks for sharing your place. Next time we make it to Maui we will definitely look you up.

Great studio, well stocked, everything works, great ocean view!

I manage several condos and have been a guest at many more. I know how difficult it can be to have everything working in the unit. We'll, everything works in this studio. The A/C, shower, all appliances, all amenities. There is a great view of the ocean and you can sit on the Lanai to watch the sunset.

The best is the Customer Service. I was moving from another unit in Royal Kahana, and the owners allowed me to move directly from my first unit to their unit. Their unit was cleaned by 11 am, and they allowed me to check in at that time. This was enormously convenient. I wish I could give an extra star just for that.

In summary, this is an excellent studio condo. Rent it; you'll love it and its owners.

We all had a very good stay at this place. We had pretty much everything we needed. Only problem that we had was the bathroom light that was only working part of the time. We were not sure who to notify to get it fixed. Overall, we would definiteley consider staying at this property again. Thanks for sharing this place with us during our stay..

Wonderful view of the whales!

We stayed here for 2 weeks in February! I would absolutely recommend this condo to anyone wanting to experience the beauty of Maui for a reasonable price. Clean, quiet area! Fully stocked with everything you need, beach towels, chairs, boogie board, umbrella etc... Pack a swimsuit and a toothbrush and you are on your way. Unfortunately due to mother nature there is no beach directly in front of the unit due to erosion but they are working to rebuild it. There is one very close by so it's really no big deal. Maui brewing company and Dollie's Pizza across the street along with a Whaler's General for anything you may need like snacks or suntan lotion! The view from unit 1002 is gorgeous so bring binoculars so you can watch the whales if you come during whale season!

A wonderful view at a great price

My wife and I spent a week at this property in Feb 2017. It is a studio that can sleep 3. The view was outstanding and the condo had everything we needed. We explored the entire island from this location. When we return to West Maui, we will stay here. The owners were very responsive and helpful. Thanks to Don and Shelly. The pool was nice but we were gone a lot. With binoculars, we daily saw whales from our balcony. Everything was great except for the beach which we were not interested in anyway. It is in a huge restoration project along much of the Beaches in that area.

Come see all that Maui has to offer!

A sunset cruise around the island makes for a perfect romantic evening. If you’re curious about what goes on under the waves, snorkeling tours are a great way to view the incredible variety of life that lives under the surface of the ocean. If you don’t want to get wet, there’s even a submarine that can take you into the deeps while you view its mysteries from the comfort of a warm cabin. Helicopter tours are an excellent way to take in views of the whole island, including incredible waterfalls, sea cliffs and forests you would be hard pressed to view on foot.

For those looking for a little more excitement, you can take an ATV tour or Zipline adventure, drive the road to beautiful Hana or watch the sunrise from Haleakala. Enjoy Maui's fabulous luaus (A favorite of mine is the Old Lahaina Luau), restaurants – you must try the Sunday brunch at the Ka’anapali Beach Resort), shops, art galleries and spas!

These tours and others can be arranged at the wonderful Concierge’s desk located in our main lobby at the Royal Kahana Resort. Maui is also a wonderful Island to explore on your own. You can make the morning drive up to Haleakala Sunrise. You can even bike ride down the volcano! I’ve not taken that ride, but my brother in-law has and said it was a great experience. I have driven to the seven sacred pools, several times and plan to go again – it’s a wonderful trip.
