Overview

About the property

3 bed, 2 bath waterfront home with modern amenities- privacy- sleeps 10

Enjoy Honeoye Lake in this recently remodeled year-round home with nearly 1600 sf of living space. This three bedroom, 1 1/2 bath home has many oversized windows which offer postcard views of the surrounding Bristol Hills. The level yard and large deck open to over 50 ft of lakefront. Take advantage of the private dock for sunbathing or fishing. There is a grassy area for yard games, a fire pit for night-time marshmallow roasting, a front and back deck for outdoor entertaining and much more. This property truly has it all.

Sit and enjoy all the water front activities from the large deck. The expansive seasonal dock allows for plenty of space to load and unload passengers from boats, kayaks, canoes or jet skis. The shallow water and ability to walk in from the shore makes this a great property for families.

The bright, open floor plan includes two living areas. The upstairs area has a living room, three bedrooms, a powder room and a loft area. Downstairs you will find a renovated kitchen with Corian countertops, new stainless steel appliances, and new flooring throughout. There is also a remodeled full bathroom and living area with a sleeper sofa on the lower level. Sliding glass doors lead to the large deck with gas grill and covered seating.

A short drive by car or boat will bring you to the Sandy Bottom Park, where you can enjoy various amenities, including a large pavilion, picnic area, a sandy beach (with life guard), beach volleyball and large grassy play areas for the children.

Honeoye Lake is one of the prime fishing locations in the Finger Lakes Region due to it's pond-like ecosystem. The shore of the lake has a high density of recreation homes, many with docks for boats and other recreation vehicles. In warmer weather, fishing is considered exceptional. Walleye, bass, perch and bluegill are some of the recreational and tournament fish that can be found. The water is clear and clean; ideal for boating, tubing, water skiing, wake boarding, and other water sports. The Ring of Fire tradition is annually celebrated Labor Day weekend by area residents. Flares are lit around the lakeshore to signify summer's end and to recognize the wealth of the Finger Lakes harvest.

In the winter, the water freezes quickly and maintains its solid surface throughout the season. It is a prime location for ice fishing, skating, and ice boating.

The Honeoye Lake area is filled with artists, musicians, farmers, skilled laborers, quaint store fronts, retirees and families who contribute to this diverse community spirit of creativity, history, and a home town feel. Like the Native Americans who lived and worked the land here over two hundred years ago, the people of the community who live and work here today feel blessed with the natural beauty surrounding them.

Boat rental is available as well. We have a 21' Century Arabian boat. Check out the pictures to view. More images can be emailed as well.

Lovely place for a family holiday

  • 5 of 5

This is our second stay here (from Arizona) and both visits coincided with SUNY Geneseo graduation. My family and I can't say enough about what a wonderful, comfortable place this is. For this trip we had 6 adults staying for 5 days - and we had plenty of room. Though the weather was not conducive for using the lake, the views and scenery and access to outside seating (fire pit) made the stay very enjoyable. We had a family event of about 20 people and had plenty of room in the downstairs area, on the deck and at the fire pit. Kevin is wonderful - very accommodating, quick to respond and just a nice person. We would definitely recommend this home to anyone staying in the area and are considering again for next summer. Honeoyoe Lake is a beautiful, quiet place to relax and Kevin makes everything so easy.

Second time staying - perfect both times!

  • 5 of 5

There are few places that make you feel nostalgic when looking at pictures. This place is one of those. This house feels like a home from the moment you walk in and take in the breathtaking views of Honeoye Lake.

First off, Kevin is awesome to work with. He's thoughtful, extremely easy to get in touch with by email, text, or phone call. He is remarkably accommodating and ensures that you have a wonderful time at his place. We stayed for my graduation and he sent me a text asking if I had a nice graduation. Where else would you find that kind of empathy?

The house is phenomenal. The neighbors are quiet. The lake is quiet. Family can sleep in or have fun entertaining. The size of the downstairs is truly the centerpiece of the house and easily held 20 for my party - don't tell Kevin ;). The fire pit was lovely to use along with the grill and we had a wonderful time.

My fiance and I are getting married next year and family is looking to stay here (a 60 minute drive from the venue) just because of the rapport we've built up and the serenity found at this place.

There isn't anything I would change about the house. My step dad and I played chess on the deck on Monday, we watched some sports over the weekend, and had a really great time at a great property. In my opinion, the rental house should add to the experience, not detract from it. This house is perfect.

I cannot recommend this place enough for the location, the house, and the owner. You will not be disappointed.

A wonderful stay at a perfect location

  • 5 of 5

We booked this house for a spring weekend getaway with 3 other couples. The main reason we looked to rent this house was its location right on the lake and its value for the money. I was amazed with Kevin's quick response in less then 5 minutes. He remained available and reliable until the end of our stay. He was very flexible with our late arrival time and the method of payment. This is a customer service level you would wish to have everywhere. The house was very clean, spacey and in a perfect location. It felt so relaxing to wake up in the morning and have the wonderful view of the lake and enjoy breakfast while the sun is rising from behind the hills. Aside from a couple of hours of hiking and a trip to the small town nearby, we literally spent our time sitting on the deck eating food we cooked in the fully equiped kitchen, kayaking (Kevin provided it), sitting around the firepit (Kevin was so nice te leave a lot of wood logs) and enjoying the serenity of the nature. And of course, wi-fi was available (which I don't recall it was mentioned in listing) so we could send our lovely pictures instantly to our families. We will definitely go back some day although it takes us over 3 hours to get there. And we invite other travellers to go and have a great time like we did.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I rented the house for a girls weekend getaway and the house and setting was perfection. There were seven of us and there was plenty of room for us all. The area is beautiful. We spent one day going to all the local vineyards (which were about 40 mins away) and then the rest of the time sitting on the deck enjoying the lake views. Dealing with the owner Kevin was seamless- he was very responsive with every inquiry. Would highly recommend this cottage.

What a beautiful place!

  • 5 of 5

We went for a weekend of ice fishing. Even though there was no ice, we had a great time. The house was clean, neat and LPspacious. Very nice deck over looking the lake. A great place to relax. Spring, summer, fall or winter a very nice place to be! Thanks Kevin for everything.

Very lovely stay for a weekend getaway :)

  • 5 of 5

Rented this place with a group of 6, and we had a lovely time! The kitchen is well equipped, the rooms and living space very comfortable, and it's located in a lovely scenic area. We had a blast driving around to local wineries and relaxing at the cottage (we had originally planned to skii at Bristol, but the weather was not cooperating). The owner was great, very helpful and accommodating! Would definitely stay again!
