Year Round - Value and location. Our spacious two bedroom vacation home that sleeps 4-adults in the 2 bedrooms, and 2 small children on the sofa in livingroom easily and comfortably. Best part is just steps from the hillside pool or walk across the street to Kalapaki Beach. This is a very clean, unique condominium in Banyan Harbor (BH), a well-maintained owner-owned property rated 3.5 to 4 stars. Our unit is absence of roadside traffic noise due to it's inside upper hillside location. It is a lovely 2-level design townhouse is desirable due to location as closest buildings to beautiful hilltop swimming pool & BBQ area, and tennis courts. Free parking in your own assigned covered parking space directly below the unit, with 2 stairways to our front door. Guaranteed partial ocean views. Trendy Hawaiian home decor. Sit outdoors on lanai/patio with table and chairs to watch large Cruise ships enter the harbor twice a week - quite a sight!
Fast wireless WiFi Oceanic/Time Warner internet on premises at no extra charge. No resort fees or daily parking fees. A/C in living room and in Master bedroom. Ceiling fans in all rooms. Air conditioning in both bedrooms. $50 reservation charge and the 13.42% Hawaii (approx $135 a week) state tourism tax on all hotels and vacation rental units.
■ Lihue/Nawiliwili Harbor - centrally located area on Hawaii's Garden Island, and so convenient with it is mid-island and easy to drive to Popui Beach or Princeville. Total of 148 all-suite condominiums in complex located overlooking historic Nawiliwili shipping harbor. Built in 1970's, groups of two-story low-rise buildings on the hillside and street level overlooking a working shipyard and protected harbor. Surrounded by fun shopping, restaurants, activities and entertainment.
■ Why stay in a one room hotel room? Better when you can spread out in the living room, sleep in a separate bedroom, handy access to washer/dryer inside condo. Save money and time by eating breakfast or meals in condo. Kitchen is stocked with spices, condiments in the fridge, and usually a bottle of wine left behind, along with some canned goods quick for later arrivals. Easy to BBQ at pool, or make snacks or picnic lunches for beach or day trips.
■ Comfortable, clean, great central location to either Poipu Beach or Princeville.
■ Easy one block walk to seven+ restaurants and two smaller shopping centers. Across from street, and a few minute walk down the beach to Beach Boys Rental stand where you can rent stand up paddle boards SUP, surfboards, take surf lessons, or enjoy fun outrigger canoe rides. Large sandy beach - complete with grassy picnic areas and numerous palm trees.
■ Within 2 miles: Three golf courses, Kauai’s largest shopping center mall, Kauai’s largest movie theatre. Costco and Farmer's Markets. Local mini-bus cost less than $1.00 to town or shopping center or Walmart.
■ Fast & Free WiFi, cable TV, and BlueRay DVD player in the condo - movie rentals available in the BH complex lobby for $2. There is also an activities desk where the staff can help you arrange best deals on ATV rides, ziplines, sunset dinner cruises, free maps and suggest good local places to eat.
Afternoon Check-in 3:30 pm and Morning Check Out time is 10:30 am. For bookings over 7 days: If you have a late evening flight 9 pm or later, and want to spend the day in my condo, you can opt to pay extra $75.00 rather than full $139 rate to use pool, beach, ect, however must leave by 5pm, or advisable to book an extra night. The local property manager can arrange a walk-thru/checkout between 5 and 5:30 pm.
This place is good value priced, as other owners in BH may charge less or many change raise up the daily rate depending on the season or holiday. However, the size, quality, furnishings, ocean views and location, sets our vacation unit far apart.
Quiet here, too - very relaxing. Suggest while checking other units advertising online for Banyan Harbor, ask if on ground level near the road, views or has air conditioning. Units offered near main road will experience vehicle noises from local island traffic that are noticeable.
POOL: My condo is in the closest building to the Pool Area with main BBQ area.
Good sized heated salt-brine pool, perfect setting to relax overlooking turquoise waters of Kalapaki Bay. Restrooms, lounge chairs, grassy area for kids, and picnic tables in a fenced area. Tennis courts there also.
BEACH: Kalapaki beach offers many benefits: One of the safest, clean swimming public beach in Kauai as it is protected by the Harbor. Paddleboard SUP or surf here, too. No fear of giant crashing waves if you have small children, elderly or a new to ocean swimming.

I guarantee my unit has great location in the complex, being the nearest to fenced-in beautiful pool, BBQ area and tennis courts. Simply it has a good partial ocean views, washer/dryer, free assigned covered parking, and no noise from street traffic. Walk to beach in 5-6 minutes. Wifi, cable, clean.

About the owner: Hi there - Greetings from Greg and Karen. Fell in Love with Kauai, and always dreamed of living in Hawaii part time. Currently live in San Rafael, between San Francisco and the wine country in Northern California. For 10 years Karen is very involved in her Rotary service club. As a couple, we volunteer as Ambassadors for our favorite humanitarian Rotary project called Give Hope-Give a Hand project. We've traveled worldwide training fellow Rotary members to give out a FREE prosthetic hands in their own country. The LN-4 Prosthetic Hand is distributed at no cost to those missing a hand below the elbow restoring up to 35% daily usefulness and dignity. Why the Owner Chose Nawiliwili, Līhuʻe, HI, USA:
Banyan Harbor is a nice, well maintained complex. It is a low-rise (2 stories) not super fancy, which keeps the prices reasonable, great location and still has many bells and whistles. As the locals say: 'You can't build any taller than the Coconut trees.' Found the staff and manager of the resort were long-term islanders, and very friendly make our stays so enjoyable. The grounds & landscaping are well cared for. Tropical flowers blooming everywhere, with a few wild chickens that occasionally run through the property. Numerous places to walk a block away to grab a bite, watch the surfers, or shop. Our friends and family say they enjoy seeing the interaction of fishing boats, tugboats, and Cruise ships sail into the Harbor. We like the local small town atmosphere of Lihue area without having numerous cookie-cutter hotel chains as neighbors (except just one luxury Marriot at far end of the Kalapaki beach.) Centrally location for Kauai - just 25 minutes to Poipu Beach, or 5 minutes to in-town shopping, Costco & a shopping mall just 1 mile away to save $ on groceries and personal needs. Lots of good, inexpensive local Hawaiian places to eat in and around Lihue and Kaapa area (the island's two biggest towns.) Lihue is one mile drive, & Kaapa town about a 10 minute drive. Close to golf, swimming, kyaking, stand up paddle boards, surfing and activities. Watch birds, smell fragrant flowers and see an occasional gecko, in the early morning, on our deck while eating breakfast. YES- Pleasant for evening cocktails on the patio enjoying the warm weather and ocean views.

Interior is decorated Hawaiian style with local colors and décor with simple wall art, and comfortable furniture. A medium size pool sits hilltop of property with lounge chairs to sunbathe & see beautiful ocean views. Mainly we love the proximity to Kalapaki beach across the street to take a daily swim, and snorkel. Fun just to watch many paddleboarders, beach walkers or hang out at Duke's Canoe Club for a beer & light meal. Kalapaki beach offers many benefits: mainly one of the safest, clean swimming public beach in Kauai as it's protected by the Harbor. No fear of giant crashing waves or riptides if you have small children, elderly or a new to ocean swimming. Quiet. Relaxing. Romantic. Great for Honeymoons and Anniversaries!
