Thank you Les and Barb for allowing my friend and me to stay once again at your beautiful home! We had a fantastic time as always and have decided to come back again in the next few years. It is so nice to feel like we were home when we came this time. Everything was where it was the last time and we enjoyed every minute! Thank you.
My sister and I, from Vancouver B.C., rented this condo from Aug. 24 - Sept. 2, 2016. We had so much space to ourselves with an open kitchen and a living room. It was near the beach and a few steps away from restaurants and parks. We rented a car to explore far places but felt we did not need it as we walked to nearby places. It felt like being at home with all the home-like things we needed. This condo provided us with all the necessary beach stuff such as chairs, mats and towels so didn't need to buy anything really besides food. I am hoping to book this condo again for my family vacation and urge you to try this one out, you will be so happy with it.
The condo was beautiful and very well stocked. The owners have thought of everything. My only complaint is that the complex itself is not kid friendly. The pool is not suited for kids at all, no splashing, playing games,no pool toys. This was hard having an eight and twelve year old that love the pool. The assistant manager is right there to enforce the rules. The rules are definitely set up for the retired people that live there full time. We tried swimming on my daughters birthday when the pool was empty and still got talked to because we jumped in the deep end. Again, the condo was wonderful just not the complex.
We were at the condo for 8 nights. There were 5 of us. The things I loved about the condo were 1. The location, It is close to 2 very nice beaches. 2. How large the condo and the couch were. We never felt cramped and there was plenty of space to spread out. 3. How well the condo was stocked. It had boogie boards, beach towels, chairs, lots of dishes, spices and pots and pans. We cooked alot to keep the cost down and the kitchen was very well stocked. 4. The condo is right by the pool and we used the BBQ at the pool a couple of nights. 5. There was air in the living area and the master bed room so we were always cool and slept well. 6. The large balcony was nice for our group. 7. The very most important are how easy Barb and Les were to work with. They were so responsive with any request and truly wanted to have the best time possible in their home away from home. We got married while we were there, celebrated one kid graduating from collage and a seconds 21st birthday and it was awesome.... Thanks Barb and Les for all of your help with making this an awesome family celebration.
We enjoyed our stay in this condo! Barb and Les were great to work with and booking was easy. It had everything we could have needed. The kitchen had cooking spices, foil, all kinds of cooking utensils and appliances in addition to the usual dishes. Lots of closet space, two bathrooms and all the beds made our stay so homey. The master bedroom was so roomy for a Maui condo and had it's own ac. It was a plus that the balcony overlooks an undeveloped green area across the street and was not pummeled with sun all day--very comfortable and relaxing to sit there with breakfast in the morning and a drink in the evening. The parking space is tight, but very convenient to the elevator which was helpful for us because our daughter has some mobility issues. The policies are well-explained and although they may seem strict, we enjoyed the ability to sleep well at night because loud partying into the night did not occur at Haleakala Shores. I appreciated that our daughter could swim in the pool without unsupervised kids leaping into the pool scaring her (which happens sometimes in hotels). With this unit having no other unit below it, we did not have to worry about complaints of our kids stomping on the floor too loud (due to our daughter's choppy gait when she walks, or just when our kids were toddlers, that has been a problem a couple times). The location is perfect for beach access to Kam II and III and the street to access the unit connects to the Kihei main drag (S. Kihei Rd.) at one end and the Pi'ilani Hwy for getting to Wailea and Kahului quickly at the other end. This is not a brand-new unit but a home with some nice upgrades. This is our 5th visit to Maui and this unit was an excellent value. Thanks, Barb and Les!
We stayed in Les and Barb's condo for 21 days! The condo was a great fit for our family of 5. We are a gluten free family and having a kitchen is essential for any stay away from home. The only hard part was having 2 adults in the kitchen at once trying to cook and clean around each other things got a little tight. But it was so nice to have everything we needed to cook anything we wanted! We loved having a washer and dryer in the unit to be able to wash our swim suits and beach towels everyday when we got "home". Hubby and I also really appreciated having cleaning supplies like a broom and vacuum for tidying up the sand that always seemed to hide in our boys trunks! No matter how well we thought we rinsed them at the beach they always seemed to hide some somewhere! We LOVED the big comfy couch, lots of room for everyone to relax after a long day at the beach. One thing that was especially appreciated was the fact that there was a trundle bed in the condo. We have a son who is autistic and the master bedroom was so big we could put the trundle right next to our bed in the low position and keep him safe! HUGE plus! I guess the ONLY thing I wish the condo would have had was one of those hotel like flip locks to keep the kids in. For a family with an autistic child, safety is always on our minds. We did make a quick note (quick because we were running late to return rental car) in the guest book but that note can not express how much we appreciated being able to have such a great place to spend our first family vacation. Our stress level was high in the beginning due to not knowing how things would go for our son. The condo had a significant impact on reducing that stress level! All of our kids felt at "home" here! Our daughter even said "I want to go back there! I liked that place" when I brought up pictures of the VRBO listing! She is 10 and picky...so that says a LOT!! THANKS for sharing your home with us Les and Barb!
