Situated beside a creek that flows from one of the historic gold mines, Yonah South Cabin is nestled only 7 miles from Helen, 5 miles from Cleveland and 20 miles from Dahlonegha. Conveniently between Hwy 75 and Alternate 75 in the historic Sautee Nacoochee Valley. Families of all ages, young couples, singles and groups will enjoy making memories together at Yonah South Cabin. Come enjoy a day at Babyland General Hospital, Yonah Mountain Vineyards, Nora Mill Granary, Helen alpine village, flyfishing on Dukes Creek, hiking on any one of the hundreds of trails or just enjoying the mountains.
We are empty nesters that love the mountains and everything they have to offer. Rick has hiked over 700 miles of the AT and has many maps and guide books to share with guests. Susan loves fly fishing and has stocked the book case with guide books to help guests find their spot to cast. The cabin has been furnished and stocked with our guest's comfort in mind based on our own travel experiences, so you will find an assortment of reader glasses in case you are like Susan and can't find where you laid yours down or if you forgot to bring them! We hope to have grandchildren sometime in the future, but in the meantime we are glad to open our cabin to your family so you can enjoy yours, fully equipped with high chair, gated porch and deck, pack and play and a SKUT! We are newlyweds (5 years) so we also want couples to enjoy how wonderful it is to have time away just for the two of you. Enjoy a tour of Yonah Mountain Vineyards, cook a steak or mountain trout on the grill and relax in the hot tub before settling in for an evening with a good movie and some fresh old fashion popcorn.
Rick and Susan Cremering purchased this cabin in 2014
We have property down the road and when this cabin became available we purchased it so we can let our family join us to enjoy the mountains. We now have room for all of our family to get together and hope your family will enjoy it as much as we do!
Rick grew up in the mountains and we both love them. We spent a family Thanksgiving together with Rick's four siblings in a cabin in West Virginia and had such a special time, we hope to recreate the experience for other families.
We hope that others that really want to enjoy a peaceful, relaxing memorable guest experience will find it here and we will make new friends that will want come back and visit again.
What an awesome place you have. We were so amazed at all the extra things you had that made our stay so pleasant. We had the most awesome Thanksgiving here with my whole family. It could not have been a better vacation. The whole set up with the cabin, the firepits, the hot tub and the mountain stream was the most relaxing week we've had. Your hospitality was unbelievable. Thanks for everything. We loved this place. PS Loved the Popcorn Popper!!
The Cabin was very nice and cozy. You really only need to bring whatever food you will be consuming. They have just about everything else covered. A very nice fire place inside the cabin kept us nice and warm during those cold evenings.
I loved the freshly ground coffee in the morning. Lots of movies to watch late at night. We didn't get a chance to use the fire pit due to the rainy weather a few of the evenings.
The outside of the cabin was very beautiful as well. Loved the chairs by the creek and around the fire pit.
Nice little town of Helen nearby. Very beautiful.
Susan was wonderful to communicate with and was always prompt with answering questions that we had.
We will definitely be back. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us!
We stayed here because it was located close to family so we could have a Christmas gathering in a beautiful cabin. Such a wonderful time we had. This place had everything you could need except your clothes lol. If you have children there were toys galore and the beds were comfortable. So much to do, bike riding , fire pit, you name it they had it. The owners are so great. When we arrived there was a beautiful Christmas tree which was so nice to place the presents under. Only one problem... We needed a longer visit lol. Wish we could have stayed a week.
We enjoyed our stay even though it was a short visit. We traveled to be with family for a funeral. Our stay was very pleasant and all we needed was our clothes. The home had everything we needed to feel at home.
This was our first VRBO experience, and we're hooked! The owners were very accommodating, the cabin is furnished with any and everything you could possibly need...lots of games, activities, etc. provided for young children and adults. Loved that we didn't have to lug a pack n play from Fla and could take our 2 small dogs with us...which of course, is a must!
Conveniently located between Helen and Cleveland, a short distance from other towns.
Planning on booking for our annual trip next year!
We rented this darling cabin from Rick and Susan for our daughter's wedding this past weekend (Oct. 29, 2016). My husband and I shared it with our adult niece and nephew and their two daughters, ages 4-7. Susan was extremely responsive throughout the several months between the time that I booked it and our trip, which was very helpful as I planned and decided what we needed to bring with us. We flew in from California so it was a pretty long trip. We pulled up to the cabin at about 6pm, right as the sun was going down. it was magic. The property is gorgeous, the cabin is lovely as well, the lights were on - there was music playing, we were so happy to see the special touches. It is very well stocked in every way - the kitchen has everything you could possibly need, the bathrooms have hair dryers and there are shampoo/rinse/shower gel dispensers in the showers, plenty of towels. They even have fresh coffee beans, a grinder and all the fixins! There are a lot of toys - which the little ones loved, books, tons of dvd's. They have reading glasses - just in case you forgot yours!!! Our only regret is that we were so busy with the wedding activities we didn't get much down time. I would love to come back some day. The location is fabulous. A very enthusiastic THANK YOU to Rick and Susan for making our stay so comfortable and memorable. Karen and Rick Bordonaro
Thank you for the wonderful vacation in the mountains. The cabin was nice and easy to reach. It was centrally located for a lot of activities. We would love to stay there again.
