About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

This monthly rental is close to historic downtown Beaufort, yet in a very quiet and tranquil location. Vaulted ceilings and extensive glass facing West give out to gorgeous views of marsh and live oaks and the Beaufort River, as well as incredible sunsets. The house is 5 minutes from town, 15 minutes from Paris Island and 20 minutes from Hunting Island State Park and the beach. There is a public boat launch a half mile from the house.

The house is an A-frame with two stories. Renovations have been done in 2005, including tile thoughout ground floor, and all new bathrooms and utilities. There is high speed internet access for those with their own laptops.

The adjacent property (listing #61951) is also available for rental, and has an additional capacity for four persons.

There is a fenced area for dogs at the side of the house. There is a strict leash law in the county. Vaccinations must be up to date. No aggressive breeds allowed.

This is a non-smoking rental.

Why Sarah Bostater chose Low Country & Resort Islands

This is the home we hope to retire to.

What makes this house unique

We love the water and water views, and this property has wonderful views and is in a quiet neighborhood in a very tranquil setting. It is near a boat ramp where we take our whaler out onto the Beaufort River. The neighbors are super. We are close to town.

Beautiful Home with outstanding waterfront views Melissa K.

  • 5 of 5

I had the pleasure of renting Sarah's home for two months while relocating to Beaufort. You can't beat the location or the view over the marsh and Beaufort River it is just beautiful. I have two dogs and a cat who where also very welcome and had a great fenced in area for the dogs along with the wonderful porch overlooking the marsh. The large windows letting in the sun are perfect for those days you don't want to be outside to take in the view. The house was clean spacious and very comfortable. Being between the two bridges makes it so easy to head into historic downtown Beaufort or to Port Royal and an easy drive to the other sea Islands and Hunting Island State Park. It was the perfect place for me to be to start my move to Beaufort

It is a spectacular waterfront view, as the title suggests.

We enjoyed a roomy, sunny house, with wonderful sunsets. My dog was welcome, the owner even left sheets to cover the couch. We enjoyed taking our dog to Hunting Island State Park, which is 3 miles of dog friendly beach. The house is on a quiet street, with pleasant neighbors, and it is close to historic downtown Beaufort.

Beautiful Waterfront Home with Spectacular Marsh and River Views

  • 4 of 5

The view was indeed spectacular...especially the sunsets. We spent about two months here and really enjoyed Sarah's home. No problems with the heat...as it was rather cool outside at times. Her home was clean and well kept...the grounds were well maintained...a great place if you have a dog...with his own fenced in area. Sarah's home had plenty of large windows to let in the sunshine with open concept kitchen...dining...and living room...very comfy. The location was convenient to stores and downtown Beaufort and Port Royal.

Great Location But Beware

  • 2 of 5

Needed a rental that accepted dogs, while our home was under construction. Nothing else was available, the location was perfect but we were not allowed to see the interior. The mattress on the "king" bed is pieces of foam that are too small for the frame so you have to stuff pillows at the head. The upstairs mattress were so bad the owners replaced them with super cheap mattresses acceptable for kids but not adults. The place was filthy, I scrubbed every surface we had to touch. Look up at the window sills or ceiling fans with years of dust. Will admit they replaced the AC after we could not keep the house below 80 degrees in the summer but the heat still blasts in the windows and the shades are just partial, cheap throw aways. Maintenance has been deferred and projects that were done are very DYI. Not many places take dogs so just be aware before you proceed.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback. As I told you when the A/C issue came up, I always appreciate feedback on what needs attention, as we do not live at the property. To go through your list: 1)The reason we were not able to give access to the house before you rented is that there was another tenant in the house up until your starting date. It has always been our policy not to disturb current tenants for a viewing, as I explained to you at the time. 2) It is true that the 2- 5” foam pieces on the king bed do not quite fit the frame. This firmer foam is covered however by a very comfortable 3 inch soft foam topper, whose cover goes around both the top and bottom foam. The only feedback I have ever received on this was that it was extremely comfortable. In any case, I will replace the bottom foam with a new mattress after this complaint. 3) I was not aware the upstairs twin mattresses were in need of replacement until I heard from you. I replaced them immediately, and again added a soft topper on top. (Maybe you did not use the topper, as I noticed they were in the closet when I came up in January). The 2nd layer of softer foam is what makes the bed very comfortable. 4) I have the house professionally cleaned after each tenant. I will advise them of this complaint about surfaces, although again, I have never had this complaint before. 5) There is one ceiling fan which only gets cleaned about once a year. It is in the living room, and requires a 2 story high ladder to access it. The same is true for the windows which are very high in the living room. All the rest are done regularly. We purposely do not have shades or curtains in this area, as part of the beauty of this room is the tall windows and the exceptional view out to the marsh and river. We were given advice by an interior decorator to use minimal window coverings in the living room. The rest of the house has normal blinds. 6) The A/C/heat pump was 12 years old but had not signs of issues before you came, according to the bi-annual check ups, and previous tenants. We had the system evaluated and replaced within a week of your phone call. The living room windows are double paned so should not leak heat inside. 7) We hire professionals for all our maintenance and yard needs. Occasionally when we are in SC we do some outdoor work in the garden etc., as when you were there. I always ask tenants to let me know if there is anything at all which needs attention to let us know, and we have it taken care of promptly.
