About Tricia Adams
We are Dean and Tricia Adams, both Northern Michigan natives. Dean is owner of Bay Area Contracting, a highly regarded custom home builder/ general contractor in the Traverse City area. Tricia is a Neonatal ICU nurse. We both love to travel, which means we know what people want in a vacation property. Also, we live on the lake, which means we built these homes with all the ammenities and conveniences desired by anyone living or vacationing on a lake.
Tricia Adams purchased this House in 2014
Why Tricia Adams chose Traverse City
Arbutus Lake is a special place, we know this because we live here. It's an all sports lake with a public boat launch. Arbutus is great for high speed boating, yet it still offers the quiet serenity of a small lake. Even the busiest days on Arbutus don't compare to the craziness of a regular summer day on the more populated inland lakes of the Traverse City area.
What makes this House unique
This property (containing two lots) was appealing for us to invest in because of our ability to build two homes side by side and because of they offer direct lake access. Many lots on Arbutus Lake are up high and require stairs and long winding pathways to reach the lake. Lakemore Retreat is at lake level and the walk to the sandy beach is as easy as it gets.

5 Stars is not enough!
5 Stars not enough! I’ve stayed at many vacation homes but this was by far my favorite! Tricia was amazing, very friendly, welcoming and most of all caring! She cared about my experience overall not just in the home. Pictures you see are SPOT on, what you see is what you get plus some! Very clean and well
Maintained, stocked and equipped with everything you need to be away from home. Very organized with everything labeled for easy find and return. My only complaint is that I can’t get back sooner because its already booked up the entire summer and I know why because it is definitely a great home away from home. I will be booking this property again very soon! Thank you Tricia.
Christmas in Traverse City
This was our second family gathering for Christmas at the lake house. Once again we had a delightful time! The house was festively decorated and so welcoming as we arrived. There wasn’t any snow for our visit this year, but still plenty of other activities close by. We enjoyed worship at a local church for Sunday and Christmas, a progressive dinner in town, hiking in the Brown Ridge Quiet Area, skating at the arena, bowling and plenty of games and coloring at the house. Not to mention plenty of good meals using the open area kitchen. Just the perfect place for a family gathering. Thank you to Tricia for being available to answer questions and for a lovely place to celebrate our Saviors Birth together as a family!
Great weekend with our family at Lakemore Cottage
We had a wonderful time at Lakemore Cottage! The cottage was extremely well designed and maintained. The kitchen was fully equipped and all the amenities in the cottage were very modern and in great working order. We used the hot tub, the pool table, the Pacman video game, and even ventured on the cold lake in kayaks. We are a family of 6 adults (2 parents, 2 adult children + their spouses) and were all able to unplug and have a nice relaxing time. We had a few questions for Tricia and she was very responsive and helpful. We definitely want to come back, maybe in the summer next time. I highly recommend this property!
Amazing house and lake
We booked a couples getaway with friends. The accommodations were great! Everything was in great condition, the hot tub, the fire pit. Everything we needed was already in the house except food. A little bit of a drive to the wineries, but we’ll worth the price of the tour bus. I could see going back here during the summer with my kids and extended family.
Wedding Weekend at the Lake
We rented the properties for our wedding for an incredible location and the capacity to host family and guests. We were blown away by the homes, they had everything we could need or imagine and were gorgeous and sparkling clean, very luxuriously appointed. We were also consistently impressed with Tricia's dedication to our needs, questions and preferences. She spent many hours helping us both with the houses and also wedding vendors, questions and preparations. The entire weekend was like a dream for us, it was hard to believe a place as beautiful as the photos existed, but the reality was even more beautiful and peaceful.
Lakemore Retreat's Cottage is one of three available lakefront properties (Lakemore Lodge and Lakemore Cabin are next door). All properties can be rented individually or together with capacity of up to 34. All three homes are new construction or remodel and were built directly on the shores of Arbutus Lake, with easy access to the water (no steps or cliffs) and optimal views of the lake. Come enjoy the many benefits of this all sports inland lake where the 395 acres are swimmable from May until October, the fishing is plentiful and the conditions are perfect for many water sports including kayaking, stand up paddleboarding, water skiing and tubing, all while being minutes away from Traverse City’s restaurants, shops, wineries, golf courses, ski resorts and more. Lakemore Retreat is directly adjacent to The Brown Bridge Quiet Area which offers miles of hiking trails, and to Boardman Valley Trail system, 81 miles of snowmobile trails. Boardman River is also within 3 miles of Lakemore Retreat, a great place to do river tubing, kayaking, canoeing and fishing.
This setting is perfect for relaxing Lakefront Vacationing away from the hussle of town, but be sure to leave time for a short 15 minute drive to the city. Traverse City is well known for its lakefront as well, with countless shops and restaurants. The greater Traverse City Area is nationally recognized for Old Mission Peninsula and the Leelanau Peninsula's many wineries, as well as the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
