Gorgeous inside and out
Beautiful setup; no-frills luxury at its finest.
Clean, Bright, Comfy!
Despite rain and gray skies most of our time there we enjoyed this spacious home. Covered veranda made it possible to still be outside, plenty of seating for company and outside dining. Sky light and French doors to veranda gave us light. Richard was responsive to solar powered hot water heater providing only lukewarm water after days of no sun, and will provide that information for future guests.
Wonderful place. Good layout. Beautiful and clean. Classy.
Great location near South Point and Volcano Park.
Roomy home with a lovely yard and lanai. We loved having a few fresh limes to use from the yard. The home has lots of windows so it was easy to cool off at night. With 3 adults and 3 kids we had room for all- one child slept out in the lanai. The kitchen is well stocked. We have stayed in cleaner rentals but it certainly didn’t keep us from having a great time! We would consider staying here again.
Perfect for two couples or family with kids
Probably the cleanest private owner condo we have used, everything looks new. The atmosphere is bright and comfortable. Wonderful lanai with nice view of the ocean. Well equipped, but ice maker in refrigerator doesn't work. Given the quality of maintenance I am sure that will be repaired soon.
Master bedroom is gorgeous. Second bedroom has double bed, but it is pretty basic. The third bedroom is best suited to kids - it is very small and feels more like an office/storage space. All three bedrooms have door on to lanai. Owner is friendly and accommodating.
Thank you for the kind words. I appreciate you taking the time to write a review!!
Wonderful home in a very quiet neighborhood. Appointed with all that we needed..
Great home layout for several people in a remote and very beautiful area. The home has a lovely garden and is in a lovely development. We enjoyed exploring things close to Naalehu but also up to Hilo and Volcanoes National Park. As well we ventured to Captain Cook and even enjoyed the Kona Stampede Rodeo. Richard was very easy to communicate with and made our stay very wonderful. The southernmost point of the US is very quietly beautiful.
this property is located about midway between Hilo and Kona. It is about 30 miles from the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and only 6miles from the newest attraction in the Park , the Kahuku Ranch Unit, which is only open on weekends. There are numerous hiking opportunities from short strolls to challenging hikes.Well known attractions include South Point the southernmost land in the USA,which includes an Ancient Hawaiian Heiau or temple. as well as canoe moorings carved into the lava rock by early hawaiians. This area was a landing place for the first settlers from Tahiti and the Marquesas.Nearby is the green Sand Beach formed by olovine sand. This beach is reached by four wheel drive vehicle or a 1.5 mile hike.Be alert for large waves and rip tides which happen frequently. This is true for all of Hawaii's beaches. The Black sand beach at Punaluu is twenty minutes away and a great place to see turtles sunning on the beach or for swimming and snorkeling. We reccomend you only swim when lifeguards are on duty as this beach is known for strong rip currents. On the way to Punaluu you pass Pahala where the Kau Coffee Mill offers fresh coffee from local farms as well as mac nuts and other products .Just follow the signs from the highway to the scenic wood valley a short drive from Pahala.Naalehu like Pahala was built around the Sugar industry starting in the Nineteenth century. Sugar was king in Hawaii for 100 years but today the towns built by the sugar plantations are struggling to find new life as all the sugarmills in Hawaii have closed.Naalehu is home to a post office , medical clinic, 3 restaurants ,Hana hou Shaka's the Punaluu bakery and the take out lunch counter next to the baseball fields and tennis courts. Auto repair and limited groceries at the 76 gas station are also available..
