2 Bedroom 1 bath house on working vineyard

SEE OUR WINTER SPECIAL RATES

The Guest House at Sapphire Canyon Vineyard was taken down to studs and completely renovated in 2014. Located on a working vineyard, this modern 2BR, 1BA house comfortably sleeps four. The two bedrooms, one with a king bed and the second with a queen bed, have new, ultra-comfy premium mattresses with down comforters and cozy robes. The living room is spacious for lounging around after a long day of wine tasting, bicycle riding or shopping. We love to cook and have stocked the kitchen accordingly. We still have some work to do on the exterior; however, there is an outdoor grill and dining area to enjoy.

For exercise, hike the many trails on the 55+ acre property or walk the quiet street across from the property for a more leisurely activity. For the adventuresome, the property is on Santa Rosa Bicycle Club’s Dry Creek, Alexander Valley bicycle ride noted as one of the Three Great Cycle Rides in Sonoma County by Suzie Rodriguez.

You are across the street from one of Dry Creek's oldest wineries and minutes away from Geyserville with four gourmet restaurants – Catelli’s (featured on Diner’s, Drive-Inns and Dives), Diavola, Rustic at Francis Ford Coppola Winery and Geyserville Grille. It's less than 10 minutes to the Healdsburg plaza and is on the border of Dry Creek and Alexander Valley AVA’s with their many award-winning wineries. Lake Sonoma and the iconic Dry Creek General Store are 5 minutes away.

Stay with us for a week and receive a 10% discount off the nightly rate and a Sapphire Canyon wine check bag for free. The bag includes inner carton to protect the wine while transporting up to one case (12 bottles).

PER THE SONOMA COUNTY VACATION RENTAL ORDINANCE: The Guest House at Sapphire Canyon Vineyard is operated in conformance with Sonoma County Zoning Code section 26-88-120 and required TOT license (#1175N). The quite hours of 10pm to 7am to be observed by all guests.

The maximum number of vehicles allowed is 2.

The maximum number of guests allowed is six per our Sonoma County license. (Please note that this is different than the # of overnight guests that we allow.)

Wonderful retreat - a great spot for cycling

  • 5 of 5

Excellent house, exactly as pictured. Everything was super clean and the beds were fantastic. The area is a wonderful spot to cycle from in all directions, yes it's a bit hilly. We rode 50+ miles a day and always found new spots to see. Hearldsburg and Geyersville are much slower paced than Napa, thankfully. Wonderful restaurants close by in Geyersville as well. Laurie was very helpful and available. Can't wait to return!

Owner's Response: Thank you for the glowing review. We've had a number of triathletes stay at Sapphire Canyon for the Ironman competition but I think you set a new standard for biking mileage. Steve and I spend most of our time working on the property while we are there and have not had a chance to experience the great biking in the area (although we see bikers constantly). We are glad you had a good time on both our roads and in our restaurants.

Ideal place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent a week in this charming little house. It was well stocked with everything we needed except for fresh food and drink. Big John's in Healdsburg was our go-to store for those items. We found this location perfect as a home base for hiking, cycling, and, of course, wine tasting adventures. We even did a day trip to the coast and spent a pleasant morning/afternoon hiking in Salt Point State Park. Laurie, the owner, was very easy to communicate with and was very helpful in suggesting lesser known wineries to visit. Pam, the manager, made sure we knew she was available if we needed her, but we didn't. The bed was comfortable, the linens and towels were high quality, and all necessary supplies were provided. We enjoyed walking the property, much more climbing than we had envisioned! Walling Road, directly across from the property, made for a beautiful walk among the vineyards and olive trees. Pedroncelli Winery is right across the road, and is a fun place to taste. Hiking and cycling in the mornings, winery visits in the afternoon, and a great place to come back to for dinner and Cubs games in the evening - it was a perfect week! We're already planning our next visit...

Owner's Response: Thank you for the wonderful and very detailed review. The area is so well known for the wineries and cycling but there is so much more. We are glad you got to experience the coast, hiking, and the property. Steve and I hope you were able to fill your wine check bag so you can relive your visit again and again over the upcoming months.

Modern inside, charming outside, wine country homeaway!

  • 5 of 5

Great place! Newly rennovated inside, comfy beds, ample couches and plenty of openness. Definitely clean. Modern kitchen and bath.

Parking on slant, gravel.

Pool facilities were old and we didn't make use. Laurie said there would be updates a few weeks after our stay. Radio was broken, wasp nests under eaves... Typical rural charm :)

Pool surrounds had lounge chairs and umbrella amidst bay and oak trees, with sunlight straight down midday. Good shade for hot days.

Pool itself was adequate for all things done in pools... clean water, diving board, newer lining, (missing light). Neat that the pool is separate from the house by ~100 yards.

Vineyard walk is nice, very large property. Trees and open areas. Workers were buzzing around on 4-wheelers, and a tractor was active in the wee hours the first night. Felt safe, workers (and children) that live on property were friendly and tried to stay out of the way.

We loved the place and would love to stay again. Laurie was very available on phone and email before and after stay. Thaks Laurie!

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review. So glad you enjoyed the property during your visit. Steve and I finished the cabana shortly after your stay so the bathroom has been completed and the hornets are gone (one of those quaint country perks I could do without). Also, the redevelopment was completed in early November and the front of the property has been completely planted with zinfandel vines. Check out the listing in the future as we progress to make improvements to the property.

Wow! A heavenly respite in wine country!

  • 5 of 5

My husband & I were in wine country and stayed at Sapphire Cottage and were so pleased with the property. It is a 'little piece of heaven & tranquillity' in the midst of the busyness of wine country.

Laurie & Steve have created a 'spa' ambiance in their cottage; yet a feeling of 'being right at home.' Tastefully decorated and well equipped! The bedding & pillows were delightful and we enjoyed the plush robes! There are ample toiletries and very nice bath towels.

The property is set on a working vineyard and it is lovely--fun to be a 'part of Wine Country'.

We thoroughly enjoyed this precious property!

Owner's Response: Thank you for the kind words. Steve and I aim to create a welcoming atmosphere with still having a lived in look and not stuffy. We’re so glad you enjoyed the property as we continue to improve the property including the redevelopment of blocks of zinfandel at the front of the property. We hope you can come back and enjoy seeing the vines when they are more mature.

Just charming!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay could not have been more perfect. The location is very quiet and right across the road from Pedroncelli Vineyards. You can totter on over and just totter on back. It is within a few minutes drive of numerous and fabulous wineries as well as just five minutes (if that) from Geyersville. The house was spectacularly clean and had about the most well stocked kitchen we have found in any vacation rental. We really appreciated the many amenities (such as fluffy white robes, quality soap products, great sheets and comfortable beds) that you expect to find in higher end accommodations. The house sits above a creek (not flowing at the time) and several groves of vineyards which you can hike around and has a pool to cool off. We visited the Saturday morning farmers market in Healdsburg and brought back our veggies to grill outside and eat on the terrace. Very, very nice.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy day to write your review. You obviously did your homework on such great things to do while in the area – farmer’s market, wineries in the Geyserville area, and our quaint little town. Steve and I are glad you got to take full advantage of the grill and hiked the property. As flatlanders, we are usually huffing and puffing by the time we get to the back of the property.

Lovely stay

  • 5 of 5

My friend and I rented this lovely house as we wine tasted for a few days in the Dry Creek, Alexander, and Anderson Valleys. The house was clean and the small touches (Aveda shampoo/conditioner provided, robes, a welcome bottle of wine, etc.) were greatly appreciated. The house was clean and comfortable and a welcome at the end of a busy day. The space was perfect for the two of us, but would be comfortable for two couples. The grounds are interesting and it was fun to wander around the property. Geyserville is only 5 minutes from the house and we loved Diavola's pizza and Catelli's pasta. check out Pedroncelli Winery across the street and Mercury's tasting room next to Diavola's.

Owner's Response: Thank you Krista for the nice comments and it was great to hear how you were able to visit Anderson Valley as most people don't venture into that AVA. Most visitors to the area focus on Healdsburg's restaurants but, for a town of 1600, we are blessed to have such great restaurants in which to indulge. In the 3 years we have owned the property, we have been fortunate to get to know a lot of our neighbors including the Pedroncelli's. You couldn't meet a nicer family.
