Just Like Home

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in over a dozen HomeAway properties in 6 states and this is by far the best.

The decor is stunning but homey at the same time. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need. The beds are very comfy. We can't wait to come back.

Our Perfect Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This home was just right. The location couldn't be better--a block to downtown, and a block to the beach and the path that takes you into Monterey. It was an easy (and beautiful) walk along the coast trail to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row. It was so fun to see the adorable harbor seals on the protected beach along the way. Lover's Point, the beach at the end of the block, is awesome for kids and adults alike. The water is calm and it wasn't ever too crowded while we were there. You are within a short drive to so many amazing things. We drove a short distance to Moss Landing to take a nature boat tour of the Elkhorn Slough--mama and baby sea otters, harbor seals, sea lions and birds galore!

To be honest, it was sometimes hard to even leave the cozy house. It's good to make sure you give yourself some down time to just hang out at the house, and explore the neighborhood. At the house, you'll have everything you need and everything is comfortable and clean. It was awesome to just open up some windows and feel the ocean breeze. There are lots of windows and natural light in the house. The kitchen seemed very well stocked (lots of dishes, serving platters, cutlery, etc.) We didn't do any cooking, so I can't say for sure that they had everything I would've needed, but it is clear that they made an effort to make it very user friendly. The kids enjoyed the many games that are supplied.

If I HAD to find a "negative," the only thing that was only a tiny bit inconvenient was that there is no designated parking at the house. You have to find street parking, but we had no problem finding parking during our 4 day stay, and fortunately, you can park for was long as you want. We were always able to find parking within a block of the house. It was really only a bit inconvenient when we were unloading and loading up the car, but otherwise it was not at all a problem.

Frank, who met us at the house when we arrived and when we left, was very friendly and helpful, and lives close by if we needed him.

I can't wait to return! We LOVED Pacific Grove and this home was perfect for us.

Selfishy, I hesitate to say, but it is perfect!

  • 5 of 5

This was our family's 2nd visit. Tricia and David are delightful. Great location in quiet, safe, picturesque neighborhood. The house is lovely, clean, well stocked, tastfully decorated, and has alot of living space and private places. It has an amazing location, steps to Lovers Point, beach, bikepath, great restaurants. Perfect for our family. Grateful to David and Tricia for sharing their family home and giving my family beautiful memories.

Relax in front of the fireplace in this beautiful retreat, or venture out and enjoy the Monterey Peninsula. Walk down one block to Lover's Point and watch the spectacular sunrises and sunsets. Stroll Lighthouse Avenue, just a block up from the house, and enjoy the quaint coffee shops, restaurants, and unique stores. Want a perfect evening? Walk to some of the best restaurants in the area for dinner, then head to the Lighthouse Cinema, just a few blocks away. Feeling adventurous? Rent a kayak at Lover's Point, only 1 block away, and experience the serene coast line. We love to kayak to Cannery Row for lunch.

If you like to bike, make sure you rent a family Surrey or a single bike at Adventures by the Sea (one block away). You can take the ocean trail at Lover's Point, and bike, jog, or walk to Cannery Row and Fisherman's Wharf.

Golfers will also love this location. The Pacific Grove Municipal Links, is about 1 mile away, and you can reach the golf courses in Pebble Beach in less than 15 minutes.

Naturalists of all ages will love the Monarch Butterfly Grove, and the Pacific Grove Museum located two blocks from the house. About 25 minutes away, the Elkhorn Slough is also worth visiting, especially if you like to kayak.

There's so much to do, within walking distance of the house, that you'll want to come back again as soon as you can.
