Estes Park Vacation Rental Registration #3124

Come and stay at our fabulous cottage. Previous guests say our photos do not do us justice! Amazing mountain views rising on all sides. It feels closer to heaven.

1300 square foot historic miners' style cottage with the best views in Estes Park! The 1.78 acre lot is one of the largest vacation rental lots in Estes. Decorated in old world style with a modern flair. Perched on the mountainside with two large bedrooms.

Spectacular panoramic 360 degree views cannot even be captured fully on film. 10 foot rock formation just behind cottage. Nighttime stars are unparalleled. You have the feeling of literally being surrounded by Rocky Mountains.

Entire cottage is done in tongue and groove pine. Pinecone and pine tree theme throughout, with wood-burning stove in living room. Jacuzzi tub and skylight in master bath.

Cable TV in 3 rooms with combo dvd/vcr. Growing collection of videos, DVD's, puzzles, and games.

Master bedroom contains two queen sized log beds. Large upstairs loft/bedroom contains two queen sized log beds. We do not allow more than 6 people as the water supply is from a well and can serve this size group.

The property is frequented by white tailed deer, mule deer, elk, hummingbirds, and coyote on a daily basis. We occasionally see bobcats and other wildlife. 5 Minute drive to Rocky Mountain National Park, 5 Minute drive to the Estes Park downtown and 1 minute drive to quiet Mary's Lake Recreation and Picnic area or a 10 minute walk.

We have been renting 3 properties for the past 10 plus years. See our excellent reviews and feedback from our previous and repeat visitor guests. We provide the best rental experience for our guests.

CLEANING FEES- This is a owner operated cabin business. We (the owners) clean the cabins and ensure that the guests get the best experience during their stay. Most cabin owners charge exorbitant cleaning fees and pass these costs to you. We charge a nominal cleaning fees since we want to give the most economical rates to our guests. However, we expect guests to leave the cabin in the same condition they found it. This means that the cabin is left reasonably clean (garbage appropriately disposed, refrigerators and ovens cleaned) and it does not take us more than 3 hours to clean the cabin for the next guests.

NUMBER OF GUESTS- This cabin accommodates 6 guests comfortably. Accommodating more than 6 guests is illegal as per Estes Park Rental Permit Laws. The names of the occupants should be listed in the short term contract or noted to the property owner

THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONING in this CABIN. However, this cabin is located high up at an elevation at 7500 feet. We have windows that open, and fans that allow guests to enjoy the fresh mountain air.

This is a non-smoking, no pets facility. IF YOU ARE A SMOKER or a would like to bring a PET please find alternate accommodations. If you SMOKE or BRING a PET, YOU WILL LOOSE YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT and ALSO be charged additional damage.

About Janet Newman Ali at PineCone Cottage

I have always dreamed of owning a rental cottage. When I was a child, I used to stay in the deep woods of Northern Michigan. These were the fondest memories of my life. I always adored the historic rental cabins that I saw on my trip. Providing a unique, memorable accommodation to make your vacation even more special has been a lifelong goal of mine. I also teach piano.

Janet Newman Ali at PineCone Cottage purchased this cottage in 2004

Why Janet Newman Ali at PineCone Cottage chose Estes Park

We bought this vacation rental for the mountain views, its privacy, acreage (1.78 acres) and proximity to Rocky National Mountain park and the town and attractions of Estes Park.

We looked for two years and know this was "the one" when we saw the amazing mountain views rising on all sides. It feels closer to heaven.

VRBO Bear enjoys scaling the rocks at Pinecone Cottage

VRBO Bear stayed here

Sep 14, 2007

My GrandPaw used to say to me, “You need to get back to your roots from time to time.” So I decided to head up to Estes Park to stay in Pinecone Cottage. Pinecone Cottage is the only cottage located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. When I walked into the cottage, all I could say was, “Wow!” It was clean and beautiful, with pine walls and plenty of windows to see the awe-inspiring views. And I had my choice of six comfortable beds (and you know bears like to sleep soundly). The kitchen was so well equipped that one evening, I prepared dinner myself. To top it off, I went out on the deck to enjoy the perfect weather and spectacular views. After it got a little chilly, I retired indoors to the big, comfortable Jacuzzi tub. What perfection! Pinecone Cottage is five minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park where I went hiking, drove Old Fall River Road, and read a book by one of the many lakes. I also had plenty of opportunities to commune with my old friends, like the Elk, Deer, Pika and Hawk families! It is also only five minutes from downtown Estes Park, with plenty of shopping and restaurants. Whether hiking, shopping, eating, or just relaxing, Pinecone Cottage is a must for anyone. My GrandPaw was right...it doesn’t get any better than this! All the best, The VRBO Bear

Cozy, Comfortable and Clean!

  • 5 of 5

My family of 5 stayed in this cozy cottage and loved it! The first night we arrived we saw a deer standing on a rock right behind the house and the next day we saw a young buck eating on the side of the driveway! I like the rustic feeling of the cottage, while having all of the modern amenities that we are used to. The beds were comfortable and we all slept well with plenty of room for everyone. We didn't use the kitchen much except to store a few items in the fridge, but the kitchen was stocked with anything anyone would need to cook and serve a meal if you choose. We really enjoyed all of the extras the owners thought of to make our stay feel like home. The cottage was very well taken care of and clean and you can tell that the owners take great pride in this home! The rustic cabin theme could be seen throughout the home, from the furniture to the style of dishes. This cottage was a great place to stay and truly feel like we got to experience a mountain vacation in this wonderful home!

Very nice cottage that fit our needs very well. 6 of us really enjoyed ourselves. Even had mule deer outside the last night and the next morning. Close to Estes but still secluded.

Beautiful view, fantastic cabin, driveway a little rough

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. Our only negative comment would be to the number of rules that are asked of guests and the screen door was way to heavy and hard to use. I understand that you must ask a little of your guests but to put a 1.5 bag of trash limit based on number of days as well as some other things was a little excessive. Especially because this was not clearly stated in the rental listing online. Also, the road to the house was not an easy one and that was also not clearly stated. If we had been looking for the house in the dark it would have been extremely frustrating. It was also frustrating that there was a large jacuzzi tub but the hot water heater did not accommodate filling it up in order to use it. That was also disheartening. Other than that it was a wonderful cabin.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your stay! The rules are an unfortunate requirement of vacation rentals from a legal standpoint though most people do not need them. Waste management has the 3 bag a week rule. So sorry! They can be big bags! This is our 4th screen door and it is a tough Anderson door. It has a button that holds it open. The wind blew the others off. Thank you for leaving the cabin in great shape and we are glad you were happy overall!

Wonderful Cottage Close to Downtown and RMNP!

  • 5 of 5

This cottage had everything we needed, including spectacular mountain views. Only a short drive to both the park and downtown, and there is a small grocery store just at the bottom of the hill. Comfortable beds, a cozy loft, fully-equipped kitchen and grill on the deck. We had a wonderful time using this as our base while exploring in the mountains. The owners are very nice and responsive to any questions. Highly recommended!!
