The Club features two restaurants, two pools, hot tub, basketball court, tennis courts, playground, and kayaks for your use. For an additional fee, a slip may be rented from us at the new North Captiva Marina.
You have to take a ferry to the Island (no cars). Secure overnight parking is available at the ferry. The ferry and parking fees are not included in the rental.
The caretakers will meet you at the dock, provide you with keys and drive you to the home while the Island Club ferry service transports your luggage and groceries to the home. There is not a grocery store on the Island - you will get your groceries on the mainland before going over on the ferry. We help you understand & plan for your week in paradise!
Right now we are experiencing beach erosion down the path from the house. There are plenty of beach access points on the Island. You may prefer to take the golf cart 3 minutes to another access point and not use the one at the end of our path for easier beach access.
About North Captiva:
North Captiva is an un-bridged Island 7 miles off the coast of Ft. Myers in Southwest Florida. Fly into the Ft Myers Airport “RSW.” The Island can only be accessed by boat or small private plane with privileges at the airstrip. No gas vehicles are allowed, as the only mode of transportation on the island is by golf cart, bike or foot. This Island is not connected to Captiva and Sanibel.
The island is populated by private homes, and the remaining 2/3 of the Island is undeveloped state land great for hiking, discovering sand dollars or sun bathing on a deserted pristine piece of sand. Due to the remote nature of the Island, many forms of wildlife are present including several protected species. The beaches are white sand and feature some of the best shelling in the United States. North Captiva feels like your own private island where, on many occasions, you might be the only one on one of the finest stretches of beach in Florida.

Great Island retreat
The family was a little apprehensive about all the logistical planning that goes into staying on an the Island. From the shuttles from the airport, ferry service, groceries, and pick up for delivery to our home for a week. All of our perceived issues were for naught. Trust me the people are there to make your week great. Probably the worst to plan for was groceries for 9 people with different food allergies. Pre ordered through Publix and picked up on way to ferry, a couple of items were incorrect or missing but was given credit on some of the items, and they sent out additional food on the ferry the next day. Found out for next time, yes we plan on going back, how to make it easier for getting groceries.
The home was great. Upper balcony had a great view of the sunsets, separate living/cooking area from sleeping area was great. Location is just a short walk down the road and you are there, or take the carts and load up the family for a day at the beach, or pool. Only thing I would like to see done to the home is some kind of screen to block the sun on the balcony. All of our dinners were eaten on the large table outside, but the sun made it difficult for the people facing into it.
Clean. Comfortable. Relaxing.
The house has a neat setup, with a day house and a night house, there’s plenty of space for everyone to move around. The kitchen is nicely appointed with all the necessities and some nice extras. The golf cart could use some work. We cannot wait to come back. It was worth every penny.
Perfect holiday island retreat!
Great location and fun place for family!
This was one of the most incredible vacation homes we've rented. We loved the day/night house concept, it worked great for our family. I want to keep this place a secret but can't. The owners thought of everything, comfortable beds, incredible kitchen to cook in, thoughtful spaces, nothing is square or usual about his home. You won't regret renting this one.
Great family vacation home
We spent a week at this property, and rented a boat slip at the marina as well. We found it well appointed and a perfect spot for a busy family (2 adults and 5 kids, ages 9-17). The two houses (bedrooms in one, kitchen/family room in the other) were a perfect set up for families with various wake up times. The little kids were up and about early, while the teenagers (and dad) slept in silently and completely undisturbed in the other house. The house is pleasantly decorated, and the walk to the beach very short. The beach at this part of the island is very narrow, but it was a short walk to a wider beach. We had several meals at Barnacles and the pool bar, both were good casual meals. The house had all the kitchen supplies necessary for the week including crock pot and various pots and pans. Lots of beach towels. The golf carts are old and well-used, but were sufficient to get us around the island. Do take the time to walk to the end of the island, its a beautiful walk, about 3.2 miles from the end of the cart path. We would highly recommend this house, and hope to return some day!
Wonderful unique home - everything you could want!
This is a great home on North Captiva. It really had everything we could want. Great place for the entire family and literally steps from the beach (where my son fished every morning). A day and night house make up the property. The day house has an extremely well equipped kitchen, living room and family loft area. Comfortable couches, table/chairs, dinning room, 2 large tv's, etc. (It did rain one day and we played bingo, wii, watched movies all in the comfort of the family loft.) Night house has 3 real bedrooms and a lofted bedroom for the kids. Beds were comfortable and again, everything there we could want. The view from the crow's nest (deck really) was incredible and we had drinks up there for sunsets. Gas and charcoal grill, plenty of outdoor toys and golf carts all included. Overall a great place on a beautiful island. We did have a bit of a problem with the golf carts in the beginning but the owner was extremely responsive and problem soon solved. Easy to recommend! And North Captiva is the best place to unwind and unplug!!
