About North Captiva:

North Captiva is an un-bridged Island 7 miles off the coast of Ft. Myers in Southwest Florida. Fly into the Ft Myers Airport “RSW.” The Island can only be accessed by boat or small private plane with privileges at the airstrip. No gas vehicles are allowed, as the only mode of transportation on the island is by golf cart, bike or foot. This Island is not connected to Captiva and Sanibel.

The island is populated by private homes, and the remaining 2/3 of the Island is undeveloped state land great for hiking, discovering sand dollars or sun bathing on a deserted pristine piece of sand. Due to the remote nature of the Island, many forms of wildlife are present including several protected species. The beaches are white sand and feature some of the best shelling in the United States. North Captiva feels like your own private island where, on many occasions, you might be the only one on one of the finest stretches of beach in Florida.

Incredible place!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

This was one of the most incredible vacation homes we've rented. We loved the day/night house concept, it worked great for our family. I want to keep this place a secret but can't. The owners thought of everything, comfortable beds, incredible kitchen to cook in, thoughtful spaces, nothing is square or usual about his home. You won't regret renting this one.

Great family vacation home

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at this property, and rented a boat slip at the marina as well. We found it well appointed and a perfect spot for a busy family (2 adults and 5 kids, ages 9-17). The two houses (bedrooms in one, kitchen/family room in the other) were a perfect set up for families with various wake up times. The little kids were up and about early, while the teenagers (and dad) slept in silently and completely undisturbed in the other house. The house is pleasantly decorated, and the walk to the beach very short. The beach at this part of the island is very narrow, but it was a short walk to a wider beach. We had several meals at Barnacles and the pool bar, both were good casual meals. The house had all the kitchen supplies necessary for the week including crock pot and various pots and pans. Lots of beach towels. The golf carts are old and well-used, but were sufficient to get us around the island. Do take the time to walk to the end of the island, its a beautiful walk, about 3.2 miles from the end of the cart path. We would highly recommend this house, and hope to return some day!

Wonderful unique home - everything you could want!

  • 5 of 5

This is a great home on North Captiva. It really had everything we could want. Great place for the entire family and literally steps from the beach (where my son fished every morning). A day and night house make up the property. The day house has an extremely well equipped kitchen, living room and family loft area. Comfortable couches, table/chairs, dinning room, 2 large tv's, etc. (It did rain one day and we played bingo, wii, watched movies all in the comfort of the family loft.) Night house has 3 real bedrooms and a lofted bedroom for the kids. Beds were comfortable and again, everything there we could want. The view from the crow's nest (deck really) was incredible and we had drinks up there for sunsets. Gas and charcoal grill, plenty of outdoor toys and golf carts all included. Overall a great place on a beautiful island. We did have a bit of a problem with the golf carts in the beginning but the owner was extremely responsive and problem soon solved. Easy to recommend! And North Captiva is the best place to unwind and unplug!!

Stunning House & Beautiful Island!

  • 5 of 5

I read all the wonderful reviews on this house and did my research about the island and am writing this to let you know to go ahead and book this place, you will love it! Our family stayed at Sea & Stars for one glorious week. We were met at the ferry dock by Pam (the caretaker) and she was so welcoming and friendly and we thought she was terrific. Our luggage was delivered by the North Captiva Island Ferry and we used Publix to pre-order and pick up our groceries on the way to the ferry. The house is just fabulous and in such a gorgeous tropical setting. The views and sunsets from the crow’s nest are stunning! We enjoyed the laid back atmosphere of the island and driving around on our golf cart. It was fun to just explore the island and all of the beautiful homes – each one has a unique name. There were no crowds or waiting in line on this vacation! It is only a short ride to the North Captiva Island Club where the pool is located as well as Mango’s pool bar. They had great food and drinks and the pool area was lovely and clean. Be sure to look around the piers at Mango’s as that is where we saw manatees on each visit. We used the kayaks at the club and the bikes are also included with the house rental. We enjoyed biking to Barnicle’s for ice cream and live music. The beach is a very short walk from the house and we were thrilled to see dolphins while we were swimming in the ocean. Don’t worry about packing inner tubes or boogie boards as they are already at the house (there were 4 of each). My only advice is to pack light and put on bug spray if you are going out at dusk. Also, don’t worry about packing movies like I did as there were plenty to choose from at the house. We were there the week of the 2016 Summer Olympics so we enjoyed watching that each evening on the big screen TV and relaxing on the comfy furniture. We hope to return to this tropical island paradise again someday!

Beautiful Home on an Incredible Island

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this home with two families that have a total of 6 kids ranging from 5 to 12. The pictures do not do this fabulous home justice. Upon arrival we were met by the property manager's husband and our 2 golf carts. He drove us through what looked like paradise, the island exceeded our expectations! Our bags arrived moments later because we used NCIC to ferry us over. The house was decorated perfectly. The attention to detail and the cleanliness made us feel relaxed and ready to enjoy. We all slept very well as there were plenty of comfy beds to go around. There are pretty much two master bedrooms because one has a king and the other has a queen with an artsy on-suite bathroom. Every mattress was brand new and covered with waterproof pads and great pillows. There were even extra blankets for lounging around the house. We loved that the kitchen had an entire drawer full of spices and plenty of dishes, cups, pots, and pans. It made meal planning easier! The day house and night house had separate temperature controls and ceiling fans. The layout was original and perfect for one or two families. There were Smart TV's with HD. Sea'N'Stars is only one house away from the beach, and the island is very quiet, so we felt comfortable letting our older ones walk down to the beautiful, secluded beach alone. It also made for great views from the top deck! The Island Club was set up perfectly with all of the amenities promised. Our kids loved the hot tub and we liked its close proximity to the cute restaurant and pool bar (Mangoes). We also enjoyed Barnacle's restaurant, we opted to sit outside under the pavilion. The service was slow but we didn't mind because there was plenty to do while we waited (corn hole and basketball). The owner of the home, Kara, was a pleasure to deal with. Our BBQ wasn't working properly and her husband showed up ASAP to bring a newer, upgraded one! He respected our privacy and met us outside. - Thank you to both of them! I totally recommend this home and can't wait for our next visit.

Wonderful Hoiliday Week in North Captiva

  • 5 of 5

We traveled to North Captiva Island to stay in this beautiful home for the week as two families. There were 6 teenagers in all. The home's arrangement of a day house and night house was terrific. There was plenty of living space for togetherness as well as inside and outside space for private lounging. The home is beautifully and comfortably decorated and has all the essentials. The ferry on and off the island, go cart transportation and beach access all contributed to the fun and relaxing week. Be sure to bring plenty of food. The pre order via Publix market and the Pine Island Taxi service from and to the airport are the way to go! Be sure to take the jet ski trip with Boats and Fun.
