About The Owner

My name is Dee McBee and I'm a realtor and rental property owner in Blue Ridge, GA. I grew up in Florida and have always loved the beach but have made my home in the Blue Ridge Mountains. We're very proud of our beautiful cabins and love renting to people that have never stayed in Blue Ridge. Most keep coming back and often want me to find a place for them, too!

The Owner purchased this cabin in 1993

Why The Owner chose Northwest High Country

We stayed in the area a few years prior to purchasing our first cabin and fell in love with the mountains, the Toccoa River and the beautiful, quiet town of Blue Ridge.

What makes this cabin unique

Luckily, our cabin sits right on the river and is in the best location for everything Blue Ridge has to offer including downtown shopping, Lake Blue Ridge, horseback riding, waterfalls, hiking and white water rafting. We also love spending time with our friends and family and it's the perfect spot for having parties and cookouts or just tubing the river or fishing all day.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thanks Dee, we had a great time. It was my mothers birthday and she had a great time.

Best hurrication ever!

  • 5 of 5

We evacuated for Irma and weren't really prepared to take a vacation. Miss Dee took such good care of us, sent baked goods and food over and made sure the kids were entertained. The were amazing hosts and it made the circumstances so much more pleasant!! We're from Savannah, the hostess city , but I bet Miss Dee could give them a run for their money.

Owner's Response: I am so glad that you liked the cabin and sure hope that you will return. I wish I had know about the pool cues so that you would have been able to enjoy the pool table. If you ever come back, please don't hesitate to let me know anything that I can do to make sure you enjoy your entire visit. I just read this and am heading there right now to replace the pool cues. Thanks again for staying with us.

Spacious yet cozy!

  • 4 of 5

We rented this house for a family reunion. It was very large and comfortable. I fell in love with the kitchen! The stairs are very steep inside, making it slightly difficult for some and the basement's ceiling is not friendly for taller people. Overall we were all very pleased. We really liked being able to play in the river and fish. The screened in porch was a wonderful spot to sit and listen to the river while staying bug free.

Relax and Unwind

  • 5 of 5

This was a last minute decision but it could not of turned out better. Cabin is HUGE with plenty of room and activities for everyone, we ranged in age from 24 to 76. Pool, Air Hockey, Bar, spacious kitchen for everyone to hang out in when cooking meals, sitting on screen porch listening to the river and nothing else. At night, fire pit by river and hot tub. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, would definitely go back . Thanks Dee you were awesome!!

Multi Family Vacationers

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at the River House! We were 12 between three families. There was plenty of room for all of us inside and outside the home. We fully enjoyed being next to the river; we fished, floated, crawfish hunted, had a campfire and just enjoyed the tranquility of the river sounds. The pool table, hot tub, hammock, and porch swing amentities were great. The house is conveniently located by the cute town of Blue Ridge, tubing, rafting, horse back riding and more. The owner was great and friendly, there was a small mechanical issue with the hot tub and the owner took care of it right away. The home does seem to have well water, being seasoned campers it did not bother us but if you prefer city water bring some bottled water. We had lots of fun and can't wait to go back. Thank You!!!

A little disappointing

  • 3 of 5

Husband and I visited here with daughter and her family. Place is very spacious and great location on the Toccoa River. We were very disappointed in the cleanliness - porch was very dirty and full of cob webs. Owners should notify renters that they do not have a filter system on their water - the smell was awful. They did mention that they didn't think about it because their home is the same and they use bottled water for brushing teeth. We did not know this and had to go out and buy water. Smelled like sulfur water. Just a thought for next time. Weather was very cooperative and definitely enjoyed the river.

Owner's Response: Thank you for bringing this to our attention. The very reason that people love to come to the mountains and the river is to enjoy the outdoors and to have a change from their life in the city. Unfortunately, as great as the area is for outdoor fun, we do have our challenges. One of the challenges of staying on the river is that the quality of water changes daily. I experience this as I live here on a full-time basis and have had the water tested and been assured that it is safe. The cabin has a filter system and I make sure that the filters are changed regularly. We also have critters all the way from bears and raccoons to spiders and ants. Even though we have a regular pest control service that kills the bugs, their relatives move in quickly - especially on outside porches. The very reason that this area is special means that it is not like living in the city. It sounds like your family had a great time and lots of river fun. I hope you will want to return.
