4 Bedrooms, 1.5 Bathroom With Sunroom At Proximity To 3 Beaches

My husband and I moved to Maine with our baby twins to work for a local company in 1999. We were looking for a family friendly area where we were able to raise our kids in a safe environment and this is what we found in Kennebunkport. We first rented the house and bought it a few years later. For me being close to water was always important. There is absolutely nothing like the sound of the ocean and walking barefoot in the sand early in the morning or after dinner to find internal peace.
Chantal purchased this Cottage in 2003
Why Chantal chose Kennebunkport
We moved to Maine with our baby twins and stayed there for almost 14 years until we had to move to Vermont for work. Kennebunkport is such a lovely place to live that we decided to keep the property. There is nothing like walking on the beach to feel reenergized.
What makes this Cottage unique
We chose this Cape because of the unique settings, between Kennebunkport Village and Cape porpoise, which is a lobster fishing village. This house is on a 0.8 acre lot, so there is plenty of place to play and is far enough from main road so kids can play safely without having to worry about cars. There is also a swing set, and a slide. We built a sunroom with a bucolic view on surrounding pasture. During the night we can view the stars in the sky or the fireflies outside. In summer, we enjoy the screened gazebo that was built in the shadow and certainly the best place to eat. The house is close to the two main beaches in Kennebunk/Kennebunkport, Gooch's and Goose Rocks Beach. Each is very different and worth seeing. When looking at tidal pools, we can find some young lobsters (which we once found shedding its shell), crabs, sand dollar, sea stars and Hermit crabs.

My stay here was perfect. The host was very kind and the property was beautiful. It is a bit secluded and in the woods, but I like that a lot. I would definitely recommend this property.
Lovely place, great location
We loved this place - a really nice cottagey-home a mile or so out of Kennebunkport in a wooded area.
Chantal was really great in the run-up to our trip and very prompt to reply to any questions we had.
It was very quiet and peaceful and everything we wanted was there. It was close to town and we went off for days to Boston and Portland etc from there.
We hope to come back again in 2021.

I am so happy that you enjoyed your stay. From our exchanges, it was a well deserved vacation. Hope to have you again
Beautiful home, very convenient
Enjoyed our stay here. Clean, comfortable home. Owners very responsive. Very conveniently located to local attractions. Highly recommend for a family trip to the Maine Coast. Our favorite excursion was Gooch's beach!
Great vacation! Thank You!
cozy, family-friendly, lovely yard
We very much enjoyed our ten day stay at Chantal's cozy cottage with its secluded yard which was great for our grandchildren, ages 2 and 1.
Good proximity to local beaches and very close to charming town of Cape Porpoise, where we bought breakfast muffins at Bradbury's Market every morning.
House was well-equipped, although we did have to buy a few small items that were missing (spatula, bath mat for tub).
All in all, the house was a great fit for three generations of our family and I would recommend it to any family with small children. (Of course, visitors without children would be equally happy there!)
Cute cottage in quiet spot
We stayed here for the weekend while we atttended a wedding in kettebunkport. The house was great for my family and friend staying with us. My son loved the swing set and toddling around the yard. Everything in the house was comfortable. It's in a quiet location but only a 5 minute drive to downtown, which was so convenient for us. Thank you for having us!
