About Gillian Draleau

We are Steve and Gillian Draleau and we live in Massachusetts when we are not enjoying our home in Maine.

Gillian Draleau purchased this house in 2005

Why Gillian Draleau chose Kennebunkport

My husband grew up going to Goose Rocks beach each year. When I came here from Ireland and we got married we both enjoyed the beauty of the coast of Maine and most especially Goose Rocks Beach and the Kennebunkport area. After many years of looking we found our ideal place to build in 2005. It is less than 2 hours from our home in Massachusetts and we spend as much time as we can here in our haven or home away from home.

What makes this house unique

We love walking to the beach especially after dinner. We enjoy all the wonderful restaurants that are so close to us and walking around 'The Port' (Kennebunkport). It never gets old and we are always discovering something new. We enjoy going to Portland to catch a Seadogs game or live theater. LL Bean is a must at least twice a year for Steve

We loved this house and the area. The kitchen was so well stocked we bought lots of local seafood and cooked at home. Gillian made everything from booking to checkout super easy. Thank you!

Beautiful Home. Beautiful Place to visit!

  • 5 of 5

This was one of the best vacations we've had! We drove out to Maine in two days and were more than ready to get there! Once we reached TiNaMara we were thrilled with the house. It had EVERYTHING we needed and then some. It is beautifully decorated and well cared for. It was exactly like the pictures. The home emanated warmth and comfort. Being from Kansas we wanted to see as much as we could and this place was centrally located to everything we wanted to do.

Gillian had set out a notebook of things to do and info about the place. She even thoughtfully left a bottle of wine for us to enjoy. She checked in with us by phone to welcome us and to see how we were doing. She answered every question and addressed any issue we had. We liked the personal touch. It made us feel at home.

Kennebunkport is a wonderful gem of a town to explore and Goose Rocks Beach was made for relaxing walks and scouting for shells. We spent our first day shopping, eating and taking the trolley ride. The next day we went to Cape Elizabeth to the Portland Head Light Lighthouse ( I love that place, but then I am a huge Edward Hopper fan!) We ate at the Lobster Shack...a must. The third day it was rainy so we went into Saco and took the Amtrak to Boston (yes its almost 2 hours, but we're from Kansas..we have to drive 2 hours to shop in the city so we don't mind it) :) The ride was relaxing and we saw parts of the countryside you can't see from the highway. We were even home in time to fit in a movie! The next day we drove to Freeport to shop. On our last day we relaxed and enjoyed our surroundings. We slept in, went to Goose Rocks Beach and took a long peaceful walk. Our kids (college age) loved it. I felt like time stood still as we walked, splashed, searched for shells and enjoyed the sights and sounds of nature. We went back to Kennebunkport to tryout Federal Jack's Brewpub. Great food...and brew :). My husband bought lobsters and Gillian's kitchen had everything we needed to make dinner. It was so fun and seriously the best lobster we ever had.

Even though we went out and saw so much, we also had plenty of time at the house to relax, make meals, enjoy coffee on the porch and watch a little Netflix. I would HIGHLY recommend this house to anyone who wants to experience Maine and have a place to call home away from home. I certainly hope we can come back and stay here again sometime. Thanks Gillian! Your home and hospitality was beyond wonderful.

So comfortable, relaxing and clean!

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend at this home. The location is great. Close to Goose Rocks, Cape Porpoise and Kennebunkport center, but also can take back roads to avoid going through Kennebunkport if there's traffic. Also took a quick trip up to Cape Elizabeth to see lighthouses... so pretty. The house is so spacious, quiet, comfortable and clean. The master bed was the most comfortable we have ever rented! Living room also comfy and love the screened in porch and deck. Gillian was wonderful, called to check in and just a pleasure to speak with. My only regret was not cooking more in the spacious kitchen! Maybe next time!

Family Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Not that this place needs another glowing review, but after just getting home from our wonderful stay there, I just have to do one. First of all, everything in the description is at least as good or better. For example, the screened in porch is much larger than I thought, with lots of seating and offers a nice view of the Fall foliage. The master bedroom and bath are very spacious and comfortable. As one family member said, "it goes on forever!" If you have kids, the upstairs loft can't be beat. Lots to do and great that it is open to the downstairs. The owner could not be nicer or more responsive and even had special "treats" for us when we arrived. There is no doubt that we all would love to stay here again.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your lovely review. I am glad that the house met or exceeded your expectations. The porch is my favorite place to sit at any time of the year but especially in the fall. We built the house with family in mind so that the adults could get some downtime away from kids. The loft and large bedrooms have proven very successful at that. I hope that you will come back and visit again in 2016, it was a pleasure renting to you.

Stay at the yellow Kennebunkport house it's fantastic!

  • 5 of 5

Our family arrived to the yellow house in Kennebunkport for our very first trip to Maine. The house was clean, nicely decorated, and just a beautiful place to stay. The screened porch was our favorite place to relax. There were so many helpful hints on what to see, where to go, and what to eat in a nice binder on the coffee table. The owners were friendly and super helpful. We enjoyed our trip very much, and the comfortable house made that possible. We enjoyed the close proximity to Goose Rocks Beach and Docks Square. We explored all the little coastal towns, because the house is just centrally located to everything. Thanks for a wonderful stay, and we hope to return.

Perfect for family vacation and sportives

  • 5 of 5

The owner is available and helpful. The description on site and photos are very accurate.Very comfortable, quiet and spacious. Near Goose Rocks Beach (easy to access and park). Lots of facilities nearby. I enjoyed riding my bike in the area every morning and the beach in the afternoon. The kids played basketball and soccer in the yard. We enjoyed cooking lobster and seafoods. Lots of good shack for food in Cape Porpoise and Kennebunk. I strongly recommend this place and we already plan to return next year.

One of the most pristine areas of Maine with many beautiful sandy beaches and top class restaurants. Many lobster retailers in the immediate area. Enjoy a sunset cocktail at several locations in Kennebunkport or at Goose Rocks beach 'Tides Inn'.

Goose Rocks Beach is a hidden jewel that has always been our favorite beach due to long sandy stretches for walks, safe swimming for children and of course exploring the island at low tide.

We are30 minutes from Portland with many attractions such as the Old Port, which is great for an evening or late afternoon stroll. We love to wander through the unique stores and eat at one of the many restaurants. The Portland Sea Dogs baseball team is a wonderful night/day out for the whole family. Tickets and food are very inexpensive, many well known major league players can be seen there from time to time. Visit LL Beans' flag ship store in Freeport under an hours drive. Our guest book has many resources for whatever it is you like to do on vacation. Did I mention great golf courses...
