This home had everything you could imagine! A beautiful folder with local attractions and places to eat and even grocery stores ! The view is spectacular!
They trashed and damaged our cabin. It took from 11am to 6pm to clean they place. They broke blinds, a bear garbage can, food abd crumbs all over every inch of the cabin floor and under beds, white thick liquid in drawers, black chocolate over my living pillows with stickers all-over them. Chocolate spread all over my kitchen cabinets, furniture, couch, etc. Pots all dirty in placed inside cabinets, chicken on bathroom floor. French fries under bed with a fork.
Kitchen took 3 hrs to clean. Outside screen enclosure had a hole in it.
I cried because it was our cabin we once lived in and had good memories and wanted to share it with renters. I understand a renter pays to clean it. But what they did to our cabin was horrible!!

This was the perfect little cabin for our family of four. We loved our stay here.
Couldn't make it to Maggie Valley due to the snow storm. I understand I did not take out the insurance but I tried to work with the owner for a credit for another stay. She said no. I then tried to at least get a refund for the cleaning fee since we didn't stay there and it didn't need cleaning. Seemed fair, but she said no. Kept saying the weather reports are never as bad as they say there. They had many inches of snow there and we had 9 inches where we live so there was no way to make it. We go 4-5 times a year, wish she had been willing to work with us.
My husband and I wanted to go back to Maggie Valley and stay for a few days. We had a wonderful time and the cabin was absolutely wonderful. We were blessed to have elk come up close to the back yard a few times. It was a great and wonderful time.
We were very pleased with this property and the owners. They were very friendly and helpful. Only problem, my husband spent two night in the local hospital due to infection that had nothing to do with our stay. He did not get a chance to enjoy our stay. We will go back again.

About the host

We were searching for a nice place to retire. After searching all over Western North Carolina we settled in Maggie Valley. There was just something about this small town we really liked. Friendly people and small town living. My husband was a telephone repairman and I was a nurse. We worked hard to get where we are today. We have yours, mine and ours children. Four daughters and so proud of each one of them.
Why they chose this property
We bought this cabin when we first arrived in Maggie Valley. We have enjoyed the years we lived in the cabin and made many friends seasonally and permanently. When summer comes it is like a "summer retreat." We still live in Maggie Valley. I wanted to keep this cabin and let others make great memories and enjoy what we had experienced.
What makes this property unique
You are looking up at the mountains which means you can bike or walk anywhere especially to the restaurants, park across from Campbell Creek, churches, etc. Since it is a one story house there are only two steps in garage into the kitchen. Having a garage when it rains or snows is excellent and easy to bring in groceries. We get a nice breeze during the spring/summer/fall months.... hardly used the A/C. But it is there for you if you need it. It is a nice setting and you can hear the church chimes during the day from your screened-in porch. Minutes to casino in Cherokee and lots of places to go visit .... Gatlinburg, Asheville, etc. We are motorcycle friendly with a garage to store you bikes.
