About Linda Cherven

We were searching for a nice place to retire. After searching all over Western North Carolina we settled in Maggie Valley. There was just something about this small town we really liked. Friendly people and small town living. My husband was a telephone repairman and I was a nurse. We worked hard to get where we are today. We have yours, mine and ours children. Four daughters and so proud of each one of them. We have two grandsons.

Linda Cherven purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Linda Cherven chose Crocketts Meadow

We bought this cabin when we first arrived in Maggie Valley. We have enjoyed the years we lived in the cabin and made many friends seasonally and permanently. When summer comes it is like a "summer retreat." We still live in Maggie Valley. I wanted to keep this cabin and let others make great memories and enjoy what we had experienced.

What makes this cabin unique

You are looking up at the mountains which means you can bike or walk anywhere especially to the restaurants, park across from Campbell Creek, churches, etc. Since it is a one story house there are only two steps in garage into the kitchen. Having a garage when it rains or snows is excellent and easy to bring in groceries. We get a nice breeze during the spring/summer/fall months.... hardly used the A/C. But it is there for you if you need it. It is a nice setting and you can hear the church chimes during the day from your screened-in porch. Minutes to casino in Cherokee and lots of places to go visit .... Gatlinburg, Asheville, etc. We are motorcycle friendly with a garage to store you bikes.

Clean, beautiful property with an awesome mountain view

  • 5 of 5

Even though the weather didn't cooperate, my husband, dogs, and I had a relaxing time here. The location was great, and we enjoyed spending time on the screened-in porch.

Loved the location of this cabin. Walking distance to food and shopping, extremely clean, and loved the peace and quiet by the fire pit at night.

I will definitely try to book it again in the near future . Had such a good time and if the weather didn't cooperate, we still would of had a great stay. All the comforts of home but with great views . Everything is close by , restaurants , supermarkets and gas stations.

Can't beat the view for the price

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved staying in this cabin. Our cat settled in right away too. She usually takes a few hours to get a sense of where she is, but something about this place is so homey. She just strutted right out onto the screened porch, which is amazing with that beautiful mountain view. The neighbors are close by but you don't notice that once you're in the cabin and even out on the porch. There is a dog that barks quite a bit in the house behind cabin, but we are animal people so he didn't bother us at all. The owners live next door and are the perfect hosts (not intrusive at all, but right there if you need them) and Ron came right over to help us figure out the garage door when I texted him. He even went out of his way to see if the PD was hiring for us! Great people and great rental. We'll definitely be back!

Location is great for many Maggie Valley attractions. There is always something going on at the Festival Grounds, Ghost Town in the Sky, a lot of places to eat, hiking, Motorcycle rallies. Walk the streets of downtown Waynesville. You also can venture out for the day to the Casino in Cherokee or walk the town of Cherokee and visit the shops... then to other towns over the Smokys to Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge to Dollywood.
