About Linda Cherven

We were searching for a nice place to retire. After searching all over Western North Carolina we settled in Maggie Valley. There was just something about this small town we really liked. Friendly people and small town living. My husband was a telephone repairman and I was a nurse. We worked hard to get where we are today. We have yours, mine and ours children. Four daughters and so proud of each one of them. “Magvalleygirl@yahoo.com”

Linda Cherven purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Linda Cherven chose Maggie Valley

We bought this cabin when we first arrived in Maggie Valley. We have enjoyed the years we lived in the cabin and made many friends seasonally and permanently. When summer comes it is like a "summer retreat." We still live in Maggie Valley. I wanted to keep this cabin and let others make great memories and enjoy what we had experienced. (magvalleygirl@yahoo.com)

What makes this cabin unique

You are looking up at the mountains which means you can bike or walk anywhere especially to the restaurants, park across from Campbell Creek, churches, etc. Since it is a one story house there are only two steps in garage into the kitchen. Having a garage when it rains or snows is excellent and easy to bring in groceries. We get a nice breeze during the spring/summer/fall months.... hardly used the A/C. But it is there for you if you need it. It is a nice setting and you can hear the church chimes during the day from your screened-in porch. Minutes to casino in Cherokee and lots of places to go visit .... Gatlinburg, Asheville, etc. We are motorcycle friendly with a garage to store you bikes.

This little cabin is amazing, quiet, and cozy!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was clean and stocked well with blankets, towels, and other linen. My wife nor I can say enough nice things about the cabin and the surrounding areas. Being from Florida, the Elk were a huge bonus for us to witness and watch. The mountain vistas from the back of the cabin from inside the house or out on the screened porch were beautiful. It was a different picture every fifteen minutes as the sun, clouds, fog, and rain were constantly changing throughout the day. My advice is to get your reservations in early cause this cabin will book quickly as the word gets out! Thanks to the owners for opening this small piece of heaven and sharing it with us. We love the area of Maggie Valley, and this cabin only made us fall in love deeper with it!

Wonderful Stay!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had a great time at this lovely cabin. The cabin was clean and welcoming. There was even a note and some home grown tomatoes for us in the kitchen. We loved having a garage to park our motorcycle in. Everything inside the cabin looked just like the pictures. The view was amazing, and we loved sitting on the screen porch looking at the mountains. Linda was very helpful and responded to our questions quickly. We spent time driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is not far away and stopped at almost every overlook. We enjoyed a local coffee shop, Barber's apple orchard in Waynesville, and visiting with the neighbors while we looked for elk. One of them even took us on a golf cart ride. We fell in love with the Maggie Valley area and are already making plans to come back.

Great cabin

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I enjoyed our weeklong stay here for our anniversary. It was a serene and quiet setting but in a location it was easy to take several day trips for exploring and one to Gatlinburg. Very lovely home and set up to have everything you need. The screened in porch is wonderful for relaxing and has a terrific view. Linda even stopped by to make sure we made it okay and to see if we had any questions and dropped off some tomatoes fresh from the garden! The only issue I could come up with is I would have preferred a curtain on the master bedroom window facing the neighbors. When they left their outside lights on it definitely brightened up our room and I unfortunately get light sensitive migraines. However it was a very simple fix as Linda provides many extra linens, I found a dark covered sheet and threw it over the curtain rod. If we come back to Maggie Valley we will stay here again! Thanks so much!

Owner's Response: We have put a blackout curtain on the bedroom window that you can pull to cover window at night. I believe there is a street light from the road that shines on the window. All good now.

Perfect mountain view!

  • 5 of 5

The house sized cabin was very comfortable. Linda does a great job furnishing all items needed to enjoy visiting. All you need are groceries and the vacation begins. We loved the long , screened back porch with the view. The living room looks out over the same view. Even though there are other houses nearby, we were unaware of anybody. It is a very quiet setting! We hope to come back again next year as this was a great stay!

The best location and view in Maggie Valley

  • 5 of 5

Log cabin with knotty pine interior and a garage. Great location. The back yard has a beautiful view. 1/2 mile to The shops on Soco Rd. Elk roam the surrounding property. I could live comfortably in this cabin. It had everything that we needed. We will rent this property again

Location is great for many Maggie Valley attractions. There is always something going on at the Festival Grounds, Ghost Town in the Sky, a lot of places to eat, hiking, Motorcycle rallies. Walk the streets of downtown Waynesville. You also can venture out for the day to the Casino in Cherokee or walk the town of Cherokee and visit the shops... then to other towns over the Smokys to Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge to Dollywood. Asheville also has events through the summer.
