About Wayne Rogers

Amy and Harry Rogers purchased this promiscuously (botanical term) planted vineyard in 1962. By 1972 the grapes were harvested for David Stare's (Dry Creek Vineyards) Premiere Zinfandel bottling in 1973, 1974, and 1975. Over the years, Rogers Vineyards Zinfandel grapes have been found in numerous high end producers - including Preston and Fritz Cellars. The last twenty-seven years (since 1987) the grapes have been a part of the world renowned A. Rafanelli Winery Zinfandel.

Wayne and Pauline are your hosts and have tried to make their 'little home in the country', your 'little home in the country'. They make their main home four miles down the road on a Sauvignon Blanc Vineyard. Healdsburg is more than just a home for the Rogers'. Please feel free to call them if you would like to view the town through a locals eye. They love to talk 'story' on Healdsburg.

Why Wayne Rogers chose Russian River

This vineyard has been in the Rogers family for over 50+ years. The property owners would like to share with those that want to experience all aspects of Healdsburg. Wayne Rogers grew up in Healdsburg on weekends, vacations, and summers as a child (since 1962). He wanted his own kids to have a 'like' experience and so moved his immediate family to Healdsburg - full time - 1997.

The entire family has made Healdsburg their permanent home and hope all guests will be able to experience many of the wonderful activities in Healdsburg that made it so desirable for the Rogers'.

What makes this cabin unique

Zin, Zin, Zin. Old Vine Zinfandel grapes makes this vineyard & cabin unique and one of the driving factors for Amy and Harry to become farmers.

For our visitors to wine country, and in particular, Healdsburg, this cabin has a location that is convenient to all events/facilities that make Healdsburg a travel destination. You are ten minutes from the Healdsburg Plaza with its world reknown eateries, tasting rooms, bakeries, and brewery.

If wine tasting is your fancy, you can start out in the middle of a Dry Creek Valley from your Rogers Vineyards Cabin vantage point.

Located one mile off West Dry Creek Road, the cabin is quiet and the star lit night skies are something to behold. Morning turkey calls or song birds will be your largest disturbance. You may get glimpses of the turkeys or deer or rabbits or pigs or squirrels. Wildlife abounds. You can hike the country road where you may or may not see a car. If you brought bicycles, ride them on a paved road out to West Dry Creek Road - one of the best roads in the nation for biking.

Amazing!

  • 5 of 5

My wife, my cousin from Sweden and myself spent 3 nights and 4 days at Wayne's place. The setting was perfect! Weather excellent. All needed home supplies were available for cooking and general usage. Especially the condiments and refrigerator supplies, like beer, soft drinks, etc. all were generously supplied.

Plus, a large wine rack filled with complimentary bottles of local "Rogers" libations!

We truly enjoyed our stay. The use of the spacious deck especially suited us. It was used for a BBQ, plus hanging out with my family. The view in itself was perfect. The first night we spotted a deer on the hill.

We would happily recommend this property, and hope to return another time!

Private oasis!

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful, rustic cabin! Situated on top of a hill surrounded by vineyards, the privacy and peace and quiet are amazing.

The kindness of the owners and their attention to detail are evident throughout. From the moment the reservation was sealed, Wayne sent emails outlining great restaurants, activities, and dining options. The cabin itself is fantastic, balancing rustic charm with modern conveniences and special touches. A well appointed kitchen. A deck with beautiful views and a Weber grill. A Keurig coffee maker with three kinds of coffee plus hot cocoa. Fresh half and half and bottles of cold water in the fridge. Bottles of home made wine (that is very good!), made from the vineyards that surround the cabin.

The property is close enough to Healdsburg to connect you to every dining and shopping experience you might want, yet it is in a rustic setting that showcases the beauty of the region, with literally dozens of fantastic wineries within a short drive on country roads.

We had a fantastic and unforgettable weekend getaway! Thank you Wayne!

The perfect anniversary getaway to wine country!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at the Rodgers cabin. Location is perfect. A short drive to Healdsburg Square and along the same road as many, many fantastic wineries. Yet the cabin is secluded in the Vineyards along a long driveway giving lots of privacy and relaxation. We also appreciated the air conditioning since we were lucky enough to visit during a major heat wave! We were very comfortable and would definitely visit here again. Thank you for opening your home to us!

great stay in the vineyards of dry creek

  • 5 of 5

I had a great stay at The Cabin. The location was just as pictured, on a hilltop in the middle of vineyards with many fruit trees too. It's wonderfully quiet, a great base for running - the pavement ends 100 yds after the cabin and they you can run for miles (up!!). Westside Rd is great for cycling north or south, and the town center is 10 minutes away. The Cabin had everything I needed. I was solo but it would be comfortable for two. The bathroom is small but fully functional and fine. One minor thing to know is that the tap water must be coming out of the hillside; it has a noticable sulfur smell. The Roger's have bottled water for coffee and drinking. And there is a large bottled water dispenser, as well. It was not a problem. I will definitely stay here again.
