About the property

1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, Sleeps 4

Beautiful ocean front unit just steps from the beach! This is a ground floor, absolutely ocean front unit where you can walk directly out onto the manicured grounds to the adjoining beach where you can bask in the sun or lounge under the trees. Or, if you prefer, hang out by the ocean front pool.

The grounds have a traditional Hawaii flair and attract numerous beautiful birds and butterflies to watch. Speaking of watching, you'll need to keep an eye on the ocean as, depending on the time of year, there is a very good chance you'll see some whales and dolphins passing by.

Enjoy the spectacular sunsets from the comfort of your private lanai with unobstructed ocean views or, with your fellow residents/guests by the built in BBQ and picnic area. Then, let the sound of the waves lull you to sleep.

The newly remodeled unit has granite countertops and all new appliances, including a washer and dryer. The kitchen opens to the living room area and on out to the lanai and is fully equipped. Also included in this unit are: TV, secure high speed internet, free calling to the mainland and Canada. If needed, and 3 ceiling fans. There is a queen size Murphy Wall bed in the living room that is also available. This unit was used by the previous owners as their primary residence, but is now available for your enjoyment. It's perfectly situated, away from the city noise, but still very convenient to local restaurants, 3 great farmers markets and historical landmarks. Equipped with beach towels and a cooler, you are ready to enjoy the many snorkeling beaches and other local attractions.

Beautiful place for our honeymoon. Beds were comfy (sometimes we slept on the Murphy bed so we could fall asleep and wake up to the ocean view. Everything was perfect.

Our most relaxing vacation ever

 • 5 of 5

This condo is ideally situated on the first floor looking directly out to an expansive ocean view. The ocean was literally steps from our lanai where we found ourselves having coffee in the morning to barbequeing dinner every night. We took so many sunset pictures through the palms in the sunning area with the sun setting in the western blue we don't dare try to share these for fear of boring friends to tears. But we did enjoy this evening ritual.

The condo itself was very comfortable with updated finishes and a thorough inventory of modern fixtures and newish furniture. The living room has a Murphy bed which was a big improvement over the usual pullout sofa. The Tradewinds cooled the place nicely both day and night. The temperature each day was perfect without the high winds we encountered at resorts north of Kona. The beach is not a swimming sandy/swimming beach which is the case for most of this island, however the proximity and views more than made up for this.

After trying one or two outings to snorkeling and golf, we found little reason to leave and consequently simply stayed and enjoyed the understated qualities of this wonderful little place. Certainly it's convenient to Kona etc but it's the convenience to the ocean we found most compelling.

We didn't find any of the "negatives" in a previous review and would highly recommend this condo for a very relaxing vacation. The staff was very responsive, the place is described accurately and its in a premium and convenient location.

I stayed at this property for a month. The kitchen was fully stocked, the queen sized bed was comfortable, and it had all the amenities. But the best part of this unit is its location. I spent most of my time on the lanai which faces west for gorgeous, unobstructed views of the ocean and beautiful sunsets. There is a comfortable queen Murphy bed for guests. There is no air conditioner but there is a sun shade for the afternoon sun which blocks most of the sun without obscuring the view and I was very comfortable. I hope to stay here again!

Dirty and hot place

 • 2 of 5

The advertisement was good with nice photos. When we got the place, the tempture was almost 90. I asked the manage company , then they said it was no a/c in the unit. We have to rent a portable A/C which was only down the tempture to 78. The cockroaches were big. The shower was so old and we were worried the door would fall on you. We never stay there again.

Owner's Response: Hi Tina, I ‘m Bob Schwartz, the owner of Kona Isle E3, and I am sorry you weren’t happy during your stay in my unit. The unit has been owner occupied for a number of years, is in excellent condition, and just recently added to the rental pool. There has never been any evidence of cockroaches in the unit, and has always been well maintained and clean. I’m not sure what your issue was with the sliding shower door, it worked fine during my recent two week stay. I understand you felt it was too warm and humid despite having the 4 ceiling fans. Of course most folks go to Hawaii for the warm weather. I understand you still weren’t satisfied even with the portable air conditioner which was provided in an effort to accommodate you and make you more comfortable. This unit has an “A” rating from Sunquest Vacations and we take great pride in maintaining a high quality unit. Again, I apologize for your unhappy experience during your stay but I do not feel that some of your comments are accurate nor justified. Thank you Bob Schwartz
