About the property

Many wineries and attractions near this scenic location . Lots to see

The Dalton Lakeside Cottage is the perfect place for a peaceful getaway with family, friends and good neighbors. Located on a quiet private road, you will pass through a narrow but short underpass that is not an issue for a full size pickup or SUV. The cottage features 3 bedrooms, 1 bath with a washer and dryer, a kitchen and living room. We prefer you to use the screened windows to keep cool, but there is an option for A/C if needed $8:00 day, (please leave on counter if used). The TV has an outside antenna that has about 23 clear channels with some HD channels and a DVD player with moves provided. Please return after use for other guest. This would be good for rainy days. You will be spending most of your days outside grilling on the covered Front deck while your kids playing in the secured back yard or enjoying your time relaxing on Dalton Landing watching the sunrise and sunset as you are enjoying your morning coffee and your evening glass of wine or relax by the outdoor fire-pit. There is a charming and historic train that runs by the house. The train has no set schedule but does go slow and the conductor will even blow the whistle for you if you wave to them. There is also a long dock for your convenience, whether you choose to fish from the dock, rent a boat at Roy's Marina or bring your own boat. This is a wonderful cottage that is perfect for that quiet weekend we all need. We gear this more to family and friends. If this sounds like the place for you, please submit the renter's application to lock in your dates. Ask about boat docking and trailer storage. Also note there is no WI-FI, but there is cell towers for data and voice. We do not supply a washer & dryer but list of laundromats will be available at the cottage.

Seneca Lake home

  • 5 of 5

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived for our 5 night stay. The home is in a perfect location in my opinion. There are tons of wineries within a very close distance to the property and you can get to Keuka Lake quickly as well. The view from the deck is outstanding and the tiered deck leading down to the water is a nice place to wake up with a cup of coffee. Inside there is a nice open floor plan. The bath is small, but just what you would expect in a ranch style home this size. The kitchen has plenty of dishes, pots, pans, utensils, etc. There is a great gas grill on the deck for a cook out! Great fenced in yard ( very safe if you have children as the gates have locks on them) and a nice fire pit as well. The owner is very nice, and easy to get in contact with. We really enjoyed our stay and definitely hope to return again for some more peace and serenity.

Very comfortable, well maintained

  • 5 of 5

Cottage was as advertised with plenty of room and very clean, with a spacious back porch that has a great view of the lake with a fenced -in yard. Very close to a number of wineries and attractions. Also there is a landing large enough on the stairway down to the dock to enjoy dining with tiki-torch lighting or coffee in the morning watching the sunrise - very peaceful. I highly recommend this cottage - we will likely be there again next year.

Amazing View - Cozy house - great communication

  • 5 of 5

The Dalton Lakeside cottage was great for what our group of friends and I were looking for. Dog friendly, sleeps 6, and has a fire pit! The house was cozy and everything worked as promised. There is hot water in shower! Just be sure to turn the knob to the left a tiny bit, not all the way.

Amazing view of the lake, and water front access was great too even though it was to cold for us to enjoy swimming at this point in the year.

Bring firewood for sure - fires up on the cliff were a ton of fun!

Communication with the property owner as great - he called to confirm we knew how to fine the house a few days prior, and fully reachable by phone with any questions if needed.

The well water does taste a little funny, but nothing unexpected with that.

I would recommend this property to others and had a great time with our guests!

Second time didn't disappoint!

  • 5 of 5

Returned to this rental for the second year in a row. First year experience was great and second was even better. There were a few improvements since last time including some bathroom updates and an expanded deck. We hit Mac's Drive In (geneva) a few times for some fun throwback food. The kitchen is well stocked and the on-site washer and dryer are so helpful. The lake views and access can't be beat and our young kids enjoyed Smores each night at the fire pit. Also appreciate the fenced in yard! Owner is friendly, accomodating and responsive. We look forward to going back!

An ideal spot to switch off and relax

  • 4 of 5

We had a pleasant 4 days at Daltons and surrounding area. The cottage was clean and well equipped with everything we needed and the grill and fire pit were a good excuse to sit out and watch the sun set with a bottle from one of the many local vinyards - a really relaxing and picturesque view across the lake with plenty of birdlife to watch.

Gary was easy to contact and ensured we had everything we needed and left us with some coupons for a complementary wine tasting which was very welcome. There are some good local craft beers at climbing bines 5 minutes down the road and plenty of stores in watkins glen and geneva.

We would recommend it to friends but would just make them aware of the occasional train that goes past the property at night which came as a surprise when we first heard it but nothing that would stop us going back.

Our stay at the cottage was wonderful! Perfect location to wineries and restaurants.

  • 4 of 5

I spent three night at the cottage and it was the perfect home for 4 people. If you want to have a tranquil vacation, this is the place to stay. We had our morning coffee on the slip and evening cocktails on the deck overlooking the lake. We had easy access to all wineries and great restaurants. Overall, a wonderful stay. I will definitely come back!!
