As Owners who live here five months of the year we pride ourselves in providing all the amenities one could possibly want to make your visit enjoyable. We have often been told that staying in our condo is like being on a cruise ship, as you are surrounded by water and are able to view the Ocean from both the Lanai and out the Front door.
You will find that you are only steps away from two remarkable sand beaches where the best Southshore surfing, snorkeling, and sunbathing take place. There is no hassle of packing your car or walking a long distance to the beach. Just stroll down the stairs or take the elevator and you’ll have two pristine beaches to enjoy. Our exceptional Fourth floor views cannot be equaled as you cast your eyes on the majestic mountains and beautiful Hoai Bay. Our top floor, peaceful, 20 foot Lanai offers privacy while watching the sea turtles, whales, and “Locals” throwing their fish nets. You will enjoy the magnificent sunrise and also appreciate the gentle tradewinds throughout the day. Kauai doesn’t get any better. The open floor plan with Hawaiian artwork and native Koa wood accents allow you to enjoy the view from the living room, dining room and kitchen. The living room features tropical décor in a large sitting area with a 40” Smart T.V. with free Netflix and a desk with high-speed internet connection available. Our updated, immaculate condo also features a king size bed and one bathroom with an oversized, tiled, glass enclosed shower. Since we do live here five months of the year, our place is meticulously maintained, cared for, and appointed with luxuries to meet your every need. Not a detail has been overlooked. This is not our business, but a paradise we would like to share with you.
Within walking distance is Spouting Horn Park where you can see “blow hole” and bargain shop in the many local run booths. Just before Spouting Horn is the National Tropical Botanical Gardens Visitor Center. This incredibly beautiful garden consists of 252 rich, lush acres of varied plants, palms, and birds, and offers both guided and self-guided tours. Kukui’ula Village, located at the round-about that leads to Kuhio Shores, is within walking distance and is reminiscent of a quaint sugar cane town. Plantation style architecture in a lush tropical setting offers a relaxing time of shopping and dining. Kuhio Shores sits next to the famous Beach House restaurant. It offers spectacular sunsets right on the beach that will linger in your memory long after you return home. For cooking at “home”, be sure to check out the wonderful fish markets, green markets, and fruitstands where you can pick up the Island’s best tropical fish and homegrown fruits and veggies.
In Kauai, every day is a great day. Much of the rainfall is a nightly occurrence and the rain showers that do occur are almost always brief. It is truly beautiful, and a blessing if it rains, and often is followed by glorious rainbows.
We invite you to enjoy our home-away-from-home on the beautiful Island of Kauai. We are confident you will not be disappointed in your choice of our condo, in a one of a kind location. If you need further information or have any questions, feel free to contact our daughter, Jane, who manages our condo. MAHALO

"You have thought of every possible convienience ! Every where we went we both agreed "OUR" condo is the best !"
Arrived and left the same day. Totally disappointed. Very stuffy...no air circulation. No beach!!
My husband and I loved our time in the condo from the moment we walked in. You immediately feel the ocean breeze and see the waves the moment you walk in. Within our first few minutes we saw a sea turtle coming up for a breath and found many more swimming over the next few days, and we got a better look through the great binoculars in the condo.
The condo was very comfortably furnished and spotless. Jane was a pleasure to work with and all payments and communication were handled very smoothly (we went directly through her). She was flexible about letting us check in a little early so we could relax for a while after our travels.
The snorkeling equipment came in very handy since we went to the sandy beach around the corner nearly every day. Having a cipher lock on the door meant we did not need to carry keys either! I was a bit scared to go in on the rocky beach right ourside although there were a few snorkelers who did go there so I recommend that if you can brave it - we saw one of them hanging out with four sea turtles at once!
The condo complex is in a very convenient location for visiting most places on Kauai although a car is necessary, and one parking spot is included with the condo. There are loads of places to eat within 5 minutes driving (we appreciated Jane's suggestion about the bar menu at Keoki's Paradise), a bunch of them just a half mile away with a farmer's market on Wednesday. It is also very close to Spouting Horn park.
I highly recommend staying here for your Kauai vacation!
We had an amazing time at this condo. First off, the basics: super close to the beach, the bay, good restaurants, clean, quiet, well-appointed kitchen, and all the equipment you'd need for a great day at the beach, whether you enjoy swimming, snorkling, boogie-boarding, or just laying out. Now, my superlative: Nothing can compare to the tranquility and relaxation of coffee on the lanai in the morning, while watching the turtles and rays swim in the bay. Absolutely gorgeous and peaceful. To top it off, a quick walk around the corner once on the ground gives stunning sunset views. I would definitely stay here again, and recommend it to friends.
Your condo exceeded our expectations. We found it very clean and well
stocked. The coolers, ice packs, snorkel gear, sunscreen/aloe, and assorted
fridge/pantry essentials all came in very handy. Thank you! Because of jet
lag we were up every morning in time to have a beautiful sunrise breakfast on the
lanai. What a view from the 4th floor! The bay is just below and we did see turtles swimming several times. Kitchen was great, and we enjoyed cooking all but 1 of our dinners at "home". Walking next door to The Beach House restaurant for drinks, dessert, and sunsets was a breeze.
iPod docking station was great and worked well.
Used the laundry facilities on the floor two nights with no problems.
The Condo's location is excellent! We had easy drive both to the northern shore for a hike along the Na Pali Coast and south to hikes in Waimea Canyon and Koke'e State Park.
If we return to Kauai, we will be staying here again!
We booked this condo through the owner after seeing it on the internet. Accommodation in Poipu hotels was generally very expensive but this lovely condo complex is situated a couple of kilometres west of Poipu Beach on a rocky point and is extremely well priced. It is well situated for exploring the best parts of the island but you obviously need your own car (parking is free).
The owner is lovely to deal with and she provided extremely clear information on the self checking in process and how to enjoy some time on Kauai.
The condo is very nicely decorated, has a huge well equipped kitchen and very comfortable furniture to sit on. The deck outside faces east so is in the shade in the afternoon which is a blessing as it is not as hot as it could be while having drinks and nibbles. We saw fishermen with rods and nets catching fish right below us in the rough and rocky bay and saw several sea turtles. the Spouting Horn water geyser is just a mile down Lawai Road and is a spectacular feature to spend some time at. The magnificent Waimea Canyon is not far away either.
The condo does not have air conditioning (not unusual for condos apparently) and it does get pretty warm at night although the ceiling fans in the bedroom and living area do help to cool things down a bit.
Overall, we loved our four night stay here and would thoroughly recommend it.
As first time visitors to Kauai, we were very happy that we chose Kuhio Shores as our "home base" for touring the island. Unit 404 is tastefully decorated and very well equipped. The view from the lanai is "to die for"...you truly could not be located any closer to the ocean and all it's wonders. Having the lovely Beach House Restaurant right next door was a plus, and many other fine dining establishments and shops were just a short walk / ride away.
During our stay we did encounter some Internet connectivity issues. Jane, the owners' daughter who manages the condo, was quick to respond in trying to work toward a resolution for the problem.
Our only minor complaint with the complex is the lack of Air Conditioning...While the trade winds most often do keep things comfortable, there were a few occasions when we really wished there was central air...sleeping at night in particular was a little uncomfortable at times, the bathroom had no window, and the living room was very warm when the sun was beating down on it between sunrise and 11 AM or so. I wouldn't consider it a "deal breaker" for staying here, but something to consider if you do mind the heat and/ or are used to having central air.
We thank the owners for sharing their lovely condo with us, and would recommend this as a wonderful place to call your "home" while visiting Kauai!
The Southshore's best surfing is right outside our building, available also nearby is horseback riding, tennis, biking, hiking, camping, fishing, zip line, air tours, whale watching tours, and mountain tubing.
