Quiet, Clean, Comfortable!

  • 4 of 5

Beautiful location and well kept. Having done several rentals in the past, we really appreciated how clean everything was kept. Plenty of easy parking and had all the amenities minus a bbq because it was winter season.

Property was nice but we had a few issues

  • 3 of 5

We really liked the cabin! It was nice to have one bedroom downstairs and the rest were upstairs. Kids love the bunk beds though we were impressed (or shocked) with the amount of dust(!!) the sheets and blankets had. In our bedroom it was the same. Didn’t use the hot tub since it was located in the basement. Not so fun! But we did use the bathtub in the parents unit that was compensating for that. It was new. Clean. Large and absolutely beautiful. Another thing that bother me was that the kitchen was empty. It did have the equipment but not basic ingredients that other cabins I visited in had. No salt. No paper. No oil. Not any type of herbs. Nada! I brought rice with me to the property but couldn’t cook it because I didn’t have salt or oil. Had to drive to the nearest supermarket for that. Also TV was old and we couldn’t watch Netflix or mirror (Apple TV) from our phones to it.

Property was great, just some minor issues

  • 4 of 5

Overall the property was great and we had a really good time. Winter in Tahoe can be a little harsh and unpredictable so it's expected that sometime issues will happen that are beyond control of you and the property management. Unfortunately, we did run into a couple minor issues. When we arrived there was a note letting us know there was an issue with the Direct TV with possible workarounds. The WiFi was up and working but the Internet speed was abysmal so don't count on it if you have to work remotely or need it for other things. Fortunately some in our group brought their MiFi so we were able to get faster access to the Internet. The second day there was a short that caused most of the bedrooms electrical sockets and lights to go out. It was determined that it was being caused by a short due to melting snow. Management did respond quickly to these issues but was unable to resolve any of them. Be prepared for minor issues, work around them and take them in stride. Everything else was as expected and I'd stay at this property again.

Owner's Response: Appreciate the honest review and truly love your attitude. After the driveway snow removal company knocked out the satellite dish we switched away from ATT and DirectTV internet service to Spectrum Cable. Sorry your visit was in the down time between television services. Please note if you are able to return you should enjoy 60 Mbps internet instead of 6 Mbps and much more reliable television services. Regarding the electrical issues: Once we were able to get an electrician out, he replaced a faulty circuit breaker which fixed the issue. I am still unsure if it was snow melt from the roof and upper deck, but if it was your shoveling helped immensely. Thank you! This house is also a ton of fun in the summer; behind those 15 foot snow banks are miles of hiking/biking trails. This home also features access to a breathtaking HOA beach. Hope to see you again and earn that last star. Thank you Hauserman Rental Group

Nice house to stay in

  • 5 of 5

We had a great week staying in this house. I like there are three full functioning showers so that we don't have to fight for it. It was a big storm week, at one point, the power went out. We called the property owner and he actually came to bring us more candles and flashlights.

Decent house for a group.

  • 4 of 5

Depending on which direction you are coming from, the drive up the the house can be treacherous with ice and snow. So, use Old County Road to get here from the west. The house was nice inside and clean. Most of the TVs are dated (they are flat screens, but don't have HDMI inputs). We brought a Chromecast to cast Pandora and Netflix, but we couldn't. The hot tub was awesome and didn't give us any issues. The kitchen worked for what we needed and had just enough utensils for us to do what we needed to do. There were a few minor drawbacks. One of the bathroom door handles came apart from the inside the first time we used it. Someone had somehow tried to use aluminum foil to hold it in place. We used our own hex key to tighten it up. Since it was winter, there was no grill. So, we brought up a smoker. It turns out they don't clear the deck of snow (even when the weather is low 60s and sunny). So, we spent time clearing the snow so that we could access the side door and the back deck for the smoker. There was also a decent cornice of snow hanging off the roof creating a rain curtain out the back door and a worry of cars getting clobbered in the front. We were able to fit all of our cars (five cars, an SUV, and a pickup), which was key since we couldn't carpool as much as we wanted. Just a heads up, the rental manager, Hausermam Group, made some sort of comment that if you book this directly through them, it's cheaper than through VRBO.
