The 'Vinyid' - a summer tradition.
An elegant contemporary built for summer living with cathedral ceilings and skylights throughout. With pegged oak flooring and high ceiling fans, the open living area expands through five Andersen sliders to a beautiful geometric deck that wraps around the entire south face, capturing the sun throughout the day. Enjoy the privacy of our wooded lot, yet remain convenient to all the island's activities.
It is just a short drive or jog through conservation land to the ocean and pond beaches of Long Point, where the ocean offers big surf and the pond sheltered calm. After a hard day at the beach, enjoy the outdoor shower, light the charcoal barbecue, and relax on the deck with a cocktail. After dark, marvel at the stars on a summer's night and you may hear the distant ocean.
You will also have access to pristine Lambert's Cove beach on the north side of town. Explore the island's network of bike trails accessible at the end of our paved road. All points of this island are no more than 20 minutes by car. Discover the many other island beaches, the lighthouses, farmers' market, and artisan galleries.
Furnished with a tasteful blend of antique and modern. The kitchen with breakfast bar is fully appointed. The loft area at the top of the stairs has skylights and a balcony. The upstairs master queen-size bedroom opens with a slider onto a separate balcony. Downstairs there are two additional bedrooms, each with a set of twin beds. Each floor has a full bathroom, and the laundry closet is on the first floor.
Ferries and lighthouses - that's how summer traditions are made!

My family and I have rented this home three years in a row. It's location is central but totally private. It's right off the Long Point beach path and that's one of the Islands most beautiful beaches. It's imacculate comfy, has all the necessities and feels like a home not a rental. If you want private but centrally located so a night out or a day at the beach is a short drive, this is it. Owners are wonderful people, helpful and welcoming.
Found this lovely, private home after my usual vacation rental was sold. I've vacationed on the Vineyard for 30 years, the last 3 here, and its been perfect every time. The home is centrally located on the Island in a gorgeous natural setting, very private, just moments from Long Beach Refuge. The home is spacious and open, and beautifully maintained, with natural light all around; it can accomodate a family vacation easily. The deck is a perfect place to start your day....I can't wait to go back...
Perfect vacation location!
My family has been vacationing at this house for over 20 years – we love it here!
It’s secluded, quiet, and a few minutes away from beautiful Long Point Beach (adjacent to the ocean beach is a freshwater pond – perfect for young children). There are plenty of safe off-road paved bike trails nearby. You can use one of the off-road paved bike trails to cycle to Edgartown or to Morning Glory Farm (which is along the way).
The listing accurately describes the location, layout, and amenities. In particular, we love the outdoor shower and the wraparound porch (great for stargazing!)
The owners are warm, friendly and very responsible (when to book ferry, lease, house keys etc. delivered asap) and always available to answer any of your questions.
The property is always clean; we have never have had any issues. If we did we would not hesitate to call the owners.
We enjoy going to Long Point, cycling, running, tennis (sometimes fishing).
We typically barbecue at home a few nights (plenty of fish markets on the island) and on the other nights drive into Oak Bluffs or Edgartown.
Another after beach activity, would be going to the sunset in Menemsha – but you need to get there early!
We truly value this vacation!
