About Sarah, reservationist

Growing up in the mid-west, I eventually moved east to North Carolina where my children were born. My early exposure to the Blue Ridge Mountains and my love for cycling eventually drew me to Asheville. The artistic diversity of the community reawakened my interest in architecture and fed a desire to contribute to Asheville's thriving downtown.

Sarah, reservationist purchased this apartment in 2013

Why Sarah, reservationist chose Asheville

After a prolonged search for a downtown property to develop, I had the good fortune to acquire 59 Broadway, an unused warehouse for the previous ten years, in remarkably sound condition and with a good soul. The building was a clean canvas on which to create and provided an opportunity to favorably impact the neighborhood in which it was located. After a year of planning, a project incorporating the interplay of nature, urban, and personal environments, was begun. Completed in December of 2015, The Sinclair was designed and built for generations to come.

What makes this apartment unique

The Sinclair was built with attention to space, lighting, quality, and simplicity. Twelve-foot ceilings, original hardwood flooring, simple layout, and uncluttered space help convey a deep feeling of comfort. Unlike any other historic building in downtown, there are windows all along the northern wall providing an abundance of natural light to the interior space of the residences further enhancing the unique ambiance. Furnishings, although simple, are complete and of high quality including the art on the walls and accessories throughout. Full length window seats allow you to engage the urban environment just outside the window but in the quiet and comfort of the interior accommodations. Entertain in comfort enjoying the structural acoustical integrity enhanced by a quality sound system. Sleep in comfort on a Sealy Posturepedic cushion mattress.

Great location, even better space!

  • 5 of 5

This property is in one of the best locations in downtown Asheville. I really loved how we could walk everywhere we wanted to go. The loft itself was beyond beautiful and felt so clean. The property owners were so helpful and quick to respond with questions or key fob issues. Remember to bring a small car for this parking space, as it is very tight! It was great that we got a covered parking space in a garage too! Perfect!!

Vacation Spot

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at rhe Sinclair 201 for a weeks vacation and had a great time. We usually stay at a hotel while in Asheville so this trip we tried something different and so glad we did. The loft was very comfortable and was in a great location. We walked to all our favorite restaurants and craft cocktail places and rarely moved the car. The walk up was a little tough on move in day with all the luggage but manageable. We will try this again in the future.

Great location to lots of our favorite jaunts! Clean and well maintained. All the neccessities!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time celebrating our 29th Anniversary at the Sinclair! Convenient location to our favorite spa at the Grove Park Inn and lots of amazing restaurants we enjoy. Bed was comfy, but I would have liked some more "luxe" sheets. Watch the shins on the bed frame! I got a couple of giggles when my husband whacked his shin more than once during our stay. Also, the parking is very tight, but convenient to have. We got a great workout going up and down the 2 flights of stairs to get to our condo too...be prepared. Parking is pretty easy to find on the street right out front too if it's earlier in the day and you will only have to trek up one flight of steps. Great shops on the street right below! Everything you could need is there. We were glad to see they even had a coffee maker by the time we got there, since some reviews had mentioned there was only a french press. Coffee, creamer, etc. was in the fridge as well! We were all set! No ice maker, so be prepared to take a step back in time with the ice trays.;) Nice floor plan overall. Great TV and audio surround sound system! Key fobs are very convenient for entry and exit. Great window seat to watch all the happenings below. We opened up the windows and had a nice breeze. We did have some nice neighbors above us come in at 4am, but thankfully they quieted down by 5:30am. Give and take everywhere you go though. We ended up here by a fluke because the Grove Park Inn had an unforeseeable issue, which closed down a wing of the hotel and they had tried to move us to another hotel. Instead, we got on VRBO to try and find a place that would be more comparable and satisfactory. We are so glad we found this place! Even though we love the GPI, there's a lot to be said about being able to enjoy downtown without having to deal with parking. It was plenty of space for the two of us and nice to not be confined to a hotel room. We were also grateful that we were able to check in early when we inquired ahead of time! If you're picky and particular about cleanliness and convenience, like myself, you won't be disappointed. We would definitely stay here again! Although, next time I might opt for the one with the elevator!:)

Owner's Response: Wow! Lesa a lot of good feed back. Thank you for taking the time to compile your thoughts and share. Equally important, thank you for staying with us. I hope your husband's shins are better. Yes, in the design and equipping the Sinclair I had to make a few decisions about amenities weighing their value to the guest and to their cost to The Sinclair - potential need for repair or potential damage to the property. The ice maker did not make the cut. Your comment about the quality of sheets I have addressed. Unfortunately the new linens arrived about the week after you left. Now all Sinclair beds have Comphy bed linens, a high quality product made of microfiber twill. Again, thank you for staying with us and I agree with you that you should try out our 301 residence. Besides the value of an elevator it is a unique quality living space. Hope to see you again in the upcoming year. Sincerely, Peter Laine

Great contemporary one bedroom in the heart of downtown Asheville

  • 5 of 5

Great contemporary one bedroom in the heart of downtown Asheville. This unit is completely refreshed with all the amenities you would want in an apartment. It is walking distance to just about anything in the downtown area. The parking is such an added bonus, but don't go with a LARGE car. The spaces are smaller. One suggestion would be to add a blackout window blind in the bedroom. We are not ones to sleep in, but it does get bright in the bedroom early. Upon our next trip to Asheville, this will be the unit we would select.

Owner's Response: The residence you choose is a favorite of mine for a nice intimate get away. Cozy private, but with the front windows overlooking the main street there is a feeling of being connected to the energy of the city. Glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for your feedback on the morning light coming into the bedroom. Hope to see you again when you return to Asheville. Sincerely, Peter
