Step out the front door to the beach
Enjoy a stay at one of Whidbey Island's most treasured beach communities. The Sandy Point Beach Cottage is located right on the beach, just a short distance from the quaint little town of Langley; just a short car ride of 1.5 miles and even shorter if you want to get there walking on the beach (at low tide). This 100+ year old beach cottage is both quaint and modern, with updated kitchen and bathroom, but the feel of a turn of the century beach cottage. Stroll the beach, enjoy the views, dip your toes in the sound, play basketball, baseball or other outdoor games in the community play area right next door. The outside deck offers some nice privacy, with garden, table and chairs, and a private outdoor shower for rinsing off the salt, sea and sand. Come enjoy a relaxing break from busy life and enjoy a romantic or family connection, oceanside!
Our 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage can accommodate up to 4 guests. First bedroom offers a queen bed and door to private outside deck area. The 2nd bedroom has an old fashioned wrought iron double size bed. The updated bathroom has a full size tub/shower combo with a pedestal sink and beautiful antique tile floor.
The kitchen is quite large, with lots of tile and counter space, a farmhouse kitchen sink and is just off the living room, so the cook will still be part of the conversation. There are built in book shelves full of books, games and a stereo for your listening pleasure. Lots of windows look out from the dinning and living room toward the water and Camano Island. There is a wood fireplace to enjoy on a chilly evening.
Sit on the front deck to enjoy the water and wildlife. There are also Adirondack chairs in the grounds in front of the house to feel the sand between your toes. Or sit out on the private deck, or under the lattice with hanging lights for ambiance in the evenings. Grill something good to eat on the large out door grill, or do a little sun bathing away from the wind back here. The outdoor shower offers a great place to clean up after beach time, and keeps the sand outside where it belongs.
Shopping, eating, wine tasting, hiking, biking, parks, water fun etc. is all close by! Shopping and dining opportunities can be found in nearby Langley and just a bit farther away, in Freeland. At the center of the island and the oldest town in Washington State, Coupeville is another local treasure to enjoy. A great home base for fun locally, Whidbey Island is also in close enough proximity to Seattle, Port Townsend, Anacortes, and the San Juan Islands for an enjoyable day trip. For evening entertainment, we have a small town theater that runs current movies right in Langley, as well as various live theater options. From arts, farmers markets, music, and seasonal events such as winery, farm and art tours, to apple pressing, parades, welcoming the whales, etc. there is often many more activities happening around here than one can possibly partake in!

What a magical place to come to!
Sitting on the front porch listening to the waves coming in for high tide, the sound of seagull voices as they flew above the sea and the single blue heron standing on the log next to the dock, waiting for a fish...the smell of the sea, it was all perfect. The walks at low tide...a delightful adventure.
The home (cottage) is lovely, so welcoming. The library, especially Nikki McClure's book: Collect Raindrops and the section on Fall. Reading about the history of Sandy Point and the people who have lived there was wonderful...I read a darling poem by Mira about her adventure with a jelly fish. I spent a lot of time reading...could have spent my entire week on the front porch couch with all the titles available - what a library.
Then the wonderful stereo system and variety of CD's, encouraging dancing and listening. I sat and read as the warm, afternoon sun encompassed the porch off the bedroom. I enjoyed preparing food in the lovely kitchen while viewing the sea from inside the home. The welcoming signs, the humor, the abundance of soft blankets available... so much to say.
I have been looking for a place by the sea to come to for a long time...I will be back. The next time I would love to bring my two grandsons, Bodhi and Brayden, 3 and 7 who would love the sand, seashells, seagulls, and swings. Thank you so much for sharing such a magical place with those of us that find you. Sincerely, Mary Noah
Beautiful cottage right on the water in a lovely community. I will definitely book this again soon.
This was our second time at this lovely home and we loved it even more. Such a gem.
Charming Beach House & Community
Ideal place to get away from it all. Walk out onto the beach, close in island community to explore, unhurried atmosphere. We tried this location out last year as a substitute to our normal vacation destination and it has now become our preferred spot.
My kids and I were there for 3 nights and wished we had another week. The photos do not do justice to how charming and wonderful this home is. It was clean, cute, and so comfortable. They thought of everything one would need to enjoy their time to the fullest. Being on the beach is such a gift and the field right next door with the basketball court, baseball backstop, and swing were a hit too. The deck was my favorite place. The locals were so nice and the sunsets and low tides were such a joy for us. We enjoyed our time immensely and would love to go back to this treasure. Will hold onto these sweet memories. Thank you so much!
