About Sarah, reservationist

Growing up in the mid-west, I eventually moved east to North Carolina where my children were born. My early exposure to the Blue Ridge Mountains and my love for cycling eventually drew me to Asheville. The artistic diversity of the community reawakened my interest in architecture and fed a desire to contribute to Asheville's thriving downtown.

Sarah, reservationist purchased this apartment in 2013

Why Sarah, reservationist chose Asheville

After a prolonged search for a downtown property to develop, I had the good fortune to acquire 59 Broadway, an unused warehouse for the previous ten years, in remarkably sound condition and with a good soul. The building was a clean canvas on which to create and provided an opportunity to favorably impact the neighborhood in which it was located. After a year of planning, a project incorporating the interplay of nature, urban, and personal environments, was begun. Completed in December of 2015, The Sinclair was designed and built for generations to come.

What makes this apartment unique

The Sinclair was built with attention to space, lighting, quality, and simplicity. Twelve-foot ceilings, original hardwood flooring, simple layout, and uncluttered space help convey a deep feeling of comfort. Unlike any other historic building in downtown, there are windows all along the northern wall providing an abundance of natural light to the interior space of the residences further enhancing the unique ambiance. Furnishings, although simple, are complete and of high quality including the art on the walls and accessories throughout. Full length window seats allow you to engage the urban environment just outside the window but in the quiet and comfort of the interior accommodations. Entertain in comfort enjoying the structural acoustical integrity enhanced by a quality sound system. Sleep in comfort on a Sealy Posturepedic cushion mattress.

Guestbook comments from the owner

*First*, I agree with all prior five-star reviews.

*Second*, Sarah was excellent. We got prompt responses to our initial

inquiry as well as answers to specific questions during our stay. The

information about the unit and directions for lighting, audio, etc. were

comprehensive and clear.

*Third*, the interior architecture, design and furnishings are beautiful.

It is light-filled and spacious. The outdoor area is really cool and

contributes to the unit’s unique charm.

*Fourth*, the attention to detail is also very cool. On one wall in the

elevator, there are pictures of the rehab process in the building (at least

I think that’s what they are). As you are ride up to the third floor, you

see what the owners started with and then you enter the gorgeous outcome

when the door opens. In the master bedroom, they have a tall mirror that

reflects the outdoor space so when you sit in bed, you get an additional

view of the patio. This type of thoughtful detail is evident throughout the

unit.

*Fifth*, I love downtown Asheville, but didn’t feel compelled to leave the

unit. My husband and I will return just to stay in the unit. It really is

that nice.

Ideal spot in downtown Asheville

  • 5 of 5

We loved everything about the 301 Sinclair unit. The space is beautiful, quiet, and highly functional. The attention to detail is impressive. The location could not be better. It was a bit of a splurge, but completely worth it. The garage gave us the ability to come and go easily to explore the region. If we were to return, we would book this option again if it were available. Everything about it was perfect.

Amazing location, unique space, bells and whistles

  • 5 of 5

I would absolutely stay here again. The location is great with all the downtown Asheville shops and restaurants just outside your doorstep. Added bonus was a direct view of the July 4th fireworks. The ability to fully open the patio to the living space was great on breezy nights. All of the electronics worked well including the sound system, apple TV, automated blinds. The owners have left great instructions. A couple of sleeping comfort things you should know before you go:

1. It's hard to get the temperature right in the second bedroom. It's on the same zone as the main living space, but a solid 5+ degree temperature difference. We got it right by making the living room really really cold at night.

2. If you like to sleep in late and are sensitive to light, you might have a hard time. Although there are great automated shades on the windows, only one set is light blocking (in the second bedroom). If you are an early riser, you'll love it.

Owner's Response: Jennifer, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Your comments are appreciated. There are two zones, one for the living room and a second for the master bedroom. We will work to make the management of the systems more easily understood. Your resourcefulness is to be admired in coming up with a solution for your time here. Your feedback on light is valued as it will help other guests better understand the nature of the Sinclair master bedroom in 301as well as help us evaluate if additional steps need to be taken to zero in on the right overall guest experience. We look forward to having you back in Asheville and at the SNC. Sincerely, Peter and Constance

Smartest stay in Asheville.

  • 5 of 5

There's no question in my mind that this is the smartest place to stay in town. The Broadway location is very convenient for all activities. Garage for one car, combined with elevator access, is a plus. The apartment description was spot-on and, believe me, the owners have thought of EVERYTHING, exhibiting great taste in their decor and high-end amenities. This is a great value stay for four people. We will be back. A big thank you to Sarah.

We were so impressed when we walked into this lovely home. It was spotless, beautifully decorated and very comfortable for two couples. The owners definitely pay attention to detail! The outside seating area is an added bonus...we made great use of this space. Loved the lights on the trees- it so very romantic and cozy. The location makes walking everywhere a breeze. We highly recommend the Sinclair- its has everything you need to make you feel right at home. The check in process was great and Sarah was very responsive. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home.
